Posted: 30 Apr 2019 08:05 AM PDT Oklahoma here. So for some reference, my ex husband is a horribly abusive narcissist, during our marriage he tortured me physically, mentally, and emotionally. He kidnapped me in 2017 and I managed to get away and run to the police, where I got my protective order. I have PTSD and cut every tie to him completely out of my life, and I've managed to make a much happier life for myself and I'm even making progress with my PTSD. Well I was, until all this has been happening. Okay now on to where I need help! About 2 weeks ago I ran into my ex's best friend at the casino. He sat and watched me and texted someone on his phone for 10-15 minutes. Then a few days later, my coworker texts me telling me that they ran into my ex and he was asking if they knew me (we were old acquaintances anyway) and they said no. Next, about a week ago my ex's brother shows up at my house and rings the doorbell, and I didnt answer. Then, he has his stepbrother send me a friend request on Facebook. And 3 days ago, I was at work (retail) and one of his friends comes in high as a kite and watches me for a few minutes. And the final event, he had one of his best friends come out to my house this morning and ring my doorbell. I have no contact with any of these people, and I havent in over a year and a half. I've been a stone cold bitch with strict no contact with anyone who could even be friends of friends of his. So my question, 1) is he violating the protective order by doing this? I have no idea if they were trying to relay a message from him or not. 2) does this qualify as stalking? 3) what are my options? Sorry if this is kinda jumbled, I'm a bit triggered right now so my thoughts are all over the place. [link] [comments] |
Both of my dogs front legs were broken at the vet. Posted: 30 Apr 2019 10:41 AM PDT Hello all, I'm hoping for some advice and experience with vet negligence! I'll try to make this concise. My dog is a 4yo 14lb Italian Greyhound. This took place in Cheyenne, Wyoming. - He dislocated his left wrist at home, I took him in at 1am for emergency care Friday night/Sat morning. I asked specifically if his leg was broken the vet said no. It was dislocated, and an X-ray would let us know if there was any damage to his ligaments. He told me to leave my dog in his care, assured he would be in no pain, and call in the morning. -I call at 8am, I am given NO update on my dog. Just told to come in at 9:30 for him & to talk to the vet. When I got in at 9:30 they asked me to clarify some info. After confirming my name and address the receptionist hands me my receipt and says "it will be $489"
Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Apr 2019 07:14 PM PDT I (25F) was attacked in a dog park by a pitbull, the dog park is an enclosed area where owners are supposed to watch their dogs off leash. It happened February 3rd, 2018. The attack was classified as a level one trauma. I arrived to the dog park before noon with my two dogs. The dog was being aggressive towards my dog, a puppy. Before this they were dry humping each other. I went to lift my dog to prevent a situation but the pit bull turned on me. The last thing i remember is it *****. I remember me being on the ground covered in dirt and mauled for like three entire minutes. He locked on two of my limbs. Ripped my face apart, and left my dog for dead.I tried so hard to defend him and myself but this dog overpowered the both of us. I was rushed to the emergency room, given an immediate mike of fentanyl for the road but even that couldn't calm the pain. Which is really the only thing I can remember for the aftermath part. I almost went into cardiac arrest from rate my heart was pumping is what a nurse told me. i wasn't aware of the extent of my injuries but i couldn't see from my left eye. A few days later i woke up and found out. Several of my nerves have been severed from this attack. Since it was an emergency procedure, the medical cost is exponential. Right now I'm working every hour i can, I'm in counselling, i find it hard to be anywhere in public where dogs can be alone. I cannot go into the sun because my face scars darken so easily. And my self confidence has been ruined. Is there any way the dog owner (i know who she is) can be responsible for the medical fees I'm faced with? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Apr 2019 09:51 AM PDT So, background: I am a 22yo male currently attending college in CT. On Friday, my ex-gf (23F) and I broke up. I went to a bar that night and she came looking for me and a girl that she thought I was sleeping with; I never had and never will she's a friend. She came to the bar and immediately started threatening my friend and said that she would, "punch her in the f----in face". A bouncer saw all this happen and she entered the bar looking for me. My roommate told her I was outside and she came out to confront me. During this time she proceeded to hit me multiple times and when I tried to block was told, "put your hands down p---y" and then proceeded to hit me unblocked multiple times. While this was happening, I took my phone out to call the police and she smashed the phone out of my hand, completely breaking and destroying my phone. This went on for a little while and she eventually left. After this, I immediately left and had my roommates drive me to my hometown, approx. 30 min away because I was scared she would come to my residence and attack me. I called the police at my parents house, an officer came to file the report, and she was arrested that morning. She had her court date on Monday and a residential restraining order was placed on her. Two bouncers from the bar, one at the door and one standing on the porch observed the incident. My problem now: The same day, a State Marshall delivered a restraining order against me and within it made many false claims. 1) she said I am 6'2 250lbs in order to make me sound more intimidating. I am 6'0 195lbs 2) She claimed that I hit, scratched and pushed her and that she has evidence of physical injury, this did not happen and is a straight lie. 3) She claims that I abuse animals and that I have used members of my fraternity to hurt others, also a lie. I have never once hurt an animal and haven't ever gotten into a physical altercation with anyone besides her 4) She claims i told her i would "ruin her life if she ever said anything"- this did also not happen, never was threatened. When the family victims advocate called I told her directly, "I do not want to ruin her life, I believe that she needs mental help in the form of court mandated violence classes 5) Claims that I punched myself and blamed it on her, that I am unstable 6) Accuses me of abusing cocaine and alcohol, being a pharmacy student I would never do this as it jeopardizes my career My questions: 1) What type of lawyer do I call to defend myself? I have been calling all morning and no one seems to be able to help. 2) She is lying on a legal document and is slandering my name, what can I do about this? 3) Should I call a lawyer, or will affidavits from the bouncers suffice? 4) If this goes through, will I be kicked out of school and will this come up on a background check I am really shook up over this and haven't slept more than 45 minutes a night since this happened. I continuously lock and check my doors now. I am a victim in this, but I feel like now I am the one being prosecuted. Please help me. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Apr 2019 12:15 PM PDT Arizona here. I was out with my daughter last night and was contacted by my neighbor that the cops were at my doorstep. They left once they got word that a) my child was with me (safe and sound) and b) we have equal custody of our child with a set schedule. He was in the car watching everything the entire time knowing full well that she was with me and that his custody doesn't start until later this week. I left him after constant manipulation, mental, physical and financial abuse. He's put a tracker in my car (no proof) and constantly belittled and threatened me to take away my child over petty things I know have no grounds in court. Just last year we arranged a child custody agreement and finalized our divorce. After the tracker situation, I contacted a lawyer who advised me there was nothing we could do until a year has passed since the agreement. Family and friends have been advising me to file a restraining order because it has just been too much for me to handle at this time. Other info: child is a minor, ex-husband is beginning to scare me. So r/legaladivce what do I do to get this man off my back and be able to be with my daughter peacefully? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Apr 2019 07:04 AM PDT I have rented my apartment in New York City for the past two years. My landlord started some renovations to the building and the construction company just installed a "sidewalk shed" outside my first-floor apartment. The shed blocks most of the natural light entering in my apartment now. A notice of construction was posted last week outside my building, but I had no warning that they would block my windows. The construction will continue until mid-september (4.5 months). I recently renewed my lease to start tomorrow, May 1st. The landlord had insisted that I sign my renewal on March 15. They did add a clause that I could terminate my lease in June. Of course, my rent increased with the renewal. I expect that the landlord knew that their planned construction would greatly impact my apartment. I don't want to live in the dark and I don't want the hassle & cost of finding a new apartment building. What are my options? [link] [comments] |
Came home to a Ukrainian man in my apartment. Posted: 30 Apr 2019 08:10 AM PDT This happened yesterday when i got home from work. I live in a rather large apartment complex, probably 15ish buildings, with around 20-30 units a building. They have their own maintenance and what not there who go into the apartments to do occasional maintenance checks, etc, etc, etc. Well, yesterday I got home from work and pulled into the parking lot just about the same time as my fiance, which happens frequently. We start walking up to our unit and as we get up the stairs we see some dry wall and tools right outside our door. We both look at each other very confused, and immediately i knew something was up. Checked the door, and it was locked, so thought maybe someone just left that stuff there for the time being. Unlock the door and go into my apartment, and immediately noticed a light on. I knew someone had been in there because we never leave lights on. I go to the hallway, and there is a man I have never seen before (Important bc i would recognize the normal maintenance staff), with my dryer and washer were pulled out from the wall and it was a complete mess. So, i ask him just what in the hell he is doing in my mf apartment. He starts trying to explain himself and what is going on, but he has very broken english so I'm not able to understand him, and he's not able to understand me. He pulls out his phone, and we start to converse through his translator app, and he explains to me that management had sent him. So i head for the main office to figure out what in the hell is going on. Get to the main office and the gal there asks how im doing. I explain that im not doing great, due to coming home to an unexpected stranger in my apartment. She looks at me and goes, "Yeah, 1014 right?" She explains to me that LAST WEEK, my washer was leaking into the apartment unit below me and that guy is there to fix the dry wall after fixing the leak. So I come to find out that maintenance, a plumber (I'm guessing), and this Ukrainian man, have been entering my apartment multiple times for the past week without me having ANY knowledge of this at all. This is absolutely unacceptable to me. I read my lease about them entering my unit, and it says they can only do so if they notify me about it, if there is an occupant home, or if there is emergency. However, if there is an emergency, they must leave a note somewhere for me. The way i am looking at this, is they breached their own contract on numerous occasions as in; Not leaving me a note the first time they entered my apartment, as well as, however other many times they came into my apartment to fix the leak! The Assistant Manager was supposed to call me "First thing this morning", however its now after 11am and i have not heard anything from them. I'm purposefully waiting a while just to see how long it takes them to get back to me, before i reach out at the end of the day. Does anyone have any good advice on what i should say to the assistant manager, or if any of this is legal?? Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance. [link] [comments] |
Teenagers were in my shed, what happens next? Posted: 30 Apr 2019 07:08 AM PDT Hello, this happened in Québec. This morning I noticed there were 3 teenagers in my shed and I called the police to have them removed. The police arrived and asked them to leave, so once that happened I went outside and spoke to him. The officer told me he gave them a warning and took all of their information and to call if they were to come back. Literally minutes after the officer had left I looked out my window and noticed one of them back in the shed and the other 2 noticed me, the trio began to walk away and I quickly took a clear photo of them. I phoned the police and walked out the front of my place to see the officer was still there. I showed him the photo and he was surprised they came back. Now I have court to testify against them. He spoke with my neighbour too, so that should help. Nothing was stolen because the shed was empty but there were plenty of cigarette butts by the door, and police said they had nothing illegal on them. What I'm wondering now is what happens next? I assume the officer goes to their homes and tell their parents about what they did and I'll receive a letter in the mail for my court date? Edit: Canada [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Apr 2019 10:04 AM PDT New company became the owners of my apartment building, currently we are month to month as our lease expired 3 years ago. Anyways today we got a letter basically telling us that as of next week our building will be transitioning to a "smoke-free" building, no smoking anywhere on the property, and that a lease amendment will be applied to all existing leases. If we want to smoke we need to leave the building property. This includes the balcony, or parking lot, etc. If we don't comply the new super said we can be fined, and evicted. Also during this summer we are going to be required to move everything out of our kitchen/living rooms/bedrooms for up to 2 weeks as they will be redoing everything from the kitchen cabinets/all hardwood floors. This is apparently not optional, and apparently for the duration it is recommended to make "alternative accommodations" for the duration of the renovations. Can they just change rules like this, and basically tell us to leave our apartment for weeks? [link] [comments] |
What happens to your debts if you go to jail for extended periods of time? Posted: 30 Apr 2019 05:26 AM PDT Richmond here. So my aunt ended up doing some stupid thing where she held a guys bag at the airport while he disappeared off somewhere. Terrible idea, I know. Of course this led to the inevitable airport security finding her, the bag, and then ultimately her taken into custody. Guy was trafficking drugs or whatnot, and she just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. So now she's sitting on a year of jail time, but what will happen to all of her debt while she's in there? She has a few credit cards that she has (probably $14k worth of debt), and being without payment that long will probably send them into default. Is there anything she can do? Does jailtime extend the time you need for debt payment? [link] [comments] |
Weird guy on my property claiming it’s abandoned Posted: 30 Apr 2019 11:37 AM PDT I don't know what to flair this as, so... I'm in NJ, and I'm also a minor. I was home with my mother, my father had left about an hour earlier. There was a car under a cover in the driveway, and another in the road in front of the drive way. I noticed this guy on the sidewalk in front of the driveway on his phone, but passed it off as a guy walking. A bit later I saw him walking around from the side. So I ran downstairs to confront him, as I don't like people on my property. I (with my mother) questioned him, asking who sent him (the bank, but he couldn't say which), his business (no card), and why he was there. He said he was sent to deal with overgrowth (there was none), and he deals with abandoned properties. We are definitely not abandoned, which he even said. My neighbor said, when we asked him about it (he's a retired cop), said he saw the guy at the corner across our house. We called the police and they said they'd keep an eye out. Is there really anything we can do? [link] [comments] |
My dog mauled my neighbor and I'm unsure of the next steps I should take. Posted: 30 Apr 2019 08:29 AM PDT The Incident: My 4 1/2 year old black lab mix broke free of my son's grasp while being taken on a walk and charged my next-door neighbor while she was walking past our driveway to her mailbox with her grand-daughter. The attack itself wasn't seen as my son fell over when the dog pulled away and neither my wife nor myself were home at the time. What was seen by my son was the aftermath. My dog bit down on her calf muscle and was pulling her down the gravel road away from our house, ignoring her grand-daughter. Our other neighbors came outside at her screaming and removed our dog from her leg by taking the leash which was still attached. He let go immediately and allowed my son to then walk him inside our house. My wife returned from the grocery store at that point to see our neighbor laying in the road in a large pool of blood while our other neighbors applied a tourniquet to her upper thigh since she is on Suboxone and her blood was not clotting. The paramedics arrived and our neighbor was transported to the hospital where the wound (basically half of her calf torn away) was stitched up and she was stabilized and sent home after a day in the hospital. She was walking with a cane after a week. Key legal points: -The gravel road in front of my house is on my property. When our subdivision was created, we provided an easement for it. -We have two dogs and an electronic fence that keeps them away from the road and contact with our neighbors. While there have been occasions where my dogs have escaped the fence, during the four year period they only number about a dozen times. One of those times involved retrieving my dog from my neighbor's back porch where he was trying to mark around the area. Their dog has also escaped and crossed onto our property where it has attacked our dogs. -Those neighbors have a history of trespassing on our property. We have been eating dinner and looked out the window and watched as they walked through our lot, crossed between our sheds, and skirted the electronic boundary where our dogs can't reach. Sometimes they just seem to be exploring and sometimes they are crossing onto another adjacent property. I haven't made an issue because I'm not confrontational by nature. -I have three sons and a daughter. All my kids would take turn walking this dog with a harness. Once, when walking our dog down an adjoining neighbor's property which we had permission to be on, we came into contact with this lady and her dog. The path is narrow and the dogs pulled toward each other. My son who was seven at the time, wasn't strong enough to hold our dog back and he got close enough to be bit by my neighbor's dog. My neighbor lost her balance trying to hold her larger dog back and fell on her butt. When I spoke to her about it later that day, she told me that her dog was defending her because my dog was evil and she could "see the devil in his eyes". I stated that we would no longer walk that path with our dog in order to avoid similar incidences. Additionally, I purchased a restraining collar instead of the harness and forbid my youngest son from walking him again. The reason he was able to pull away from my middle son that day was because he had sustained an injury to his neck and was wearing the harness to allow the wound time to heal. I had also forbidden my middle son (9) from walking him in a harness but he did anyway because he thought he was helping. -My neighbor was conscious enough to state that our dog "attacked me like he always does". This simply isn't true. Her Facebook is completely public and I have screenshots of her stating that this is the first time he has attacked her. -I also have snapshots of her friends conspiring with her to shoot my dog in the yard. There were two strange cars that began driving back and forth in front of my house. This was alarming enough that we reported it to the police. She's also made threatening statements (on her public Facebook) that "It's gonna be the Hatfields and McCoys up in here" and stated that if my dog would have bitten her grandchild she would have killed my whole family. -I contacted animal control, reported the bite, and quarantined my dog for the required ten days. On day three, when my oldest son (13) was walking my dog on our property, her adult son crossed onto our property, took a picture of him walking the dog, sent it to animal control, and claimed that it was my youngest (8) walking the dog on their land which would break quarantine. Animal control came and took the dog for the remaining quarantine period. I didn't fight this as having the dog at the shelter removed the risk that he would be shot in the front yard. When he returned, the animal control officer exclaimed that she was shocked that he would bite anybody as his nature was extremely calm and very friendly. -When passing my driveway in the past, she usually shouts and repeatedly calls out "bad dog", "Go away" etc. -I've already contacted my homeowner's insurance and notified them of the bite and impending lawsuit (which she announced on her public Facebook when meeting with her lawyers). Key Ethical Points: -I recognize that my neighbor should not have been bitten. She wasn't on my property, wasn't a threat, and her injuries are horrific. I have pictures of the wound since her Facebook is public. -I believe my dog recognized that my wife and I were not home and felt she was a threat to my children (12, 9) that were there alone because of her erratic behavior. Questions: -Did I screw anything up from a legal standpoint that would open us up to increased liability? i.e. my 12 and 9 year old home alone -Any dog lawyers know if pulling away from his owner, meets the standard of "running loose"? -Since she is on Medicaid (Public Facebook again) and has no medical bills, am I liable for that amount? -Animal control has directed me to either put him down or re-home him outside our county. Am I liable for future bites if I re-home him? -Can the court force me to put him down due to the severity of the injury even though this is his first bite? (I live in a one free bite state) -She announced that she now has "limited mobility" and nightmares (Public Facebook). Is there any way to quantify that in dollars or will we just throw numbers back and forth? -She doesn't work but she watches her grand-daughter after school. Am I liable for childcare costs? Thanks guys and girls. Edit: Location is West Virginia. Edit #2: I'm trying to do the right thing by my neighbors as well as protect my family including, if possible, my dog. I'm not going to rush out and euthanize him if I don't have to and if he's not a danger to others. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Apr 2019 07:52 AM PDT We haven't signed a lease yet, as we hadn't received the paperwork from the property manager and we were simply going to sign it the day we picked up the keys. We've put down admin and application fees, a partial deposit to hold the apartment, and were required to pay for rental insurance as well. Now the guy in this apartment has rescinded his notice. Apparently he was going to break the lease 2 months early, but later did the math and realized it's cheaper for him to leave it vacant and pay rent for two months than pay the break fee. There are no other apartments available. The manager informed us that he feels badly, and offered us the option to take over his lease for him. Problem is, we negotiated rent at $1850 and his lease has him paying $2k, so that's what we'd be locked into. I asked if at the end of the 2 months, the original agreed rate would go into effect, but she said that since it would be a renewal that it would stay the same or increase. We can't afford that higher rate long term, we had already stretched our budget initially because we liked the apartment so much. I have done preliminary research and there's just no real options to go elsewhere with such short notice, and we have to vacate our apartment in 5 days. Do I have any legal recourse here, or do I have to just eat this? I feel like paying a hold fee has legal weight, but I'm not sure. Also, how can he just rescind his notice, isn't that also binding? [KY] My child is in 4th grade and is getting bullied by the teacher. What can I do? Posted: 30 Apr 2019 09:22 AM PDT My child is in 4th grade and is constantly being bullied by her teacher. She is not the only child that is getting this either. The teacher mocks are other students for speech impediments. I have spoken to the principal about this numerous times and no action has been taken. Can i have my daughter record the audio and use that? Should i go to the school board? My daughter is coming home in tears because of how this teacher is treating her. My daughter lives with her grandparents and not for bad reasons. They live a block away and since i and my wife work it was easier to do it this way. She basically has 4 parents that take care of her. My daughters teacher has told mocked her for this sayign things like well i would never let anyone have my child. And comments like well arent you just special you must think you are really cool. Its none of her business and she shouldnt be saying shit like that. She always has soemthing to say. Well dont you look silly because of your hair. Why is your hair in your face, why dont you have a coat, your shoes dont match with your clothing, etc etc etc. Another student in her class has a speech impediment and when he talks the teacher will tell him to speak clearly and not sound like -insert mocking impersonation of the child-. This really has to stop and the principal and other staff refuse to doanything. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Apr 2019 10:53 AM PDT My stepdad has raised me since I was 3. We never could do the adoption as a child because we didn't want my sperm donor (biological father, he was a horrible guy, he is currently in prison but he's about to get out and it's just making me super nervous. He came looking for my brother and I when he was out on parole, he ended up breaking his parole and went right back to prison. He really is the worst kind of evil, he is NOT my dad) to find me or deal with him or his family and court costs and just fees in general. Poor family 5 kids. Money was tight. As I said I'm 33. I'm married and have my husband's last name, so at least I don't share my monster awful sperm donors last name anymore. If my step dad adopted me would it replace my stepdad name in the father line on my birth certificate, and will it erase my sperm donor off it? That's my goal. I don't want associated with that monster and want him off my birth certificate. My step dad deserves that title. He raised me. He's always been there. Even when him and my mom divorced my stepdad kept all 5 of us kids (all still minors at the time of divorce. 3 of us were not his. He gave my mother everything she wanted in the divorce so that she wouldn't take us 3 from him. She just quit being a mom and wanted out. She knew she could use us as a bargaining chip to get what she wanted and she did. My dad didn't care. Just dont take the kids. He was and is the most amazing stand up kind of man. I love him so much and I always wanted adopted by him my whole life. I live in Missouri and have since I was 8 yrs old. But I was born in Kansas. If I can do this, would I need to start the process in the state of birth or in the state I'm living in? Would I need to involve my sperm donor in anyway? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Apr 2019 03:35 AM PDT To make this easier, I'll copy paste the message that I sent to my HR Manager. "Great. I'll call you in the morning. He got an attitude with me specifically this time because I asked him to do the dishes, but he didn't do them all or put them up. So when I asked him about it, he said that it wasn't his job and something about me not being a real manager. My co-manager was there and he respects her authority most of the time, so I told him he could ask his "real manager" then. He said that I needed to change my attitude because he would "slap me upside the head" and "violate the f*** outta me." This happened in front of my co-manager, multiple employees, and within earshot of customers waiting at front counter. Overall, he just has an issue with me having any authority as a manager and that's been apparent for a few weeks now. I can deal with not being liked as long as the job gets done. But the moment his comments got violent, I had to say something. The other combative times are if I'm delegating tasks & ask him to do something when he doesn't feel like listening to me. "you go do that, miss manager," or "you've got legs." I've tried to send him home before because he wasn't listening and doing whatever he felt like, but he just didn't clock out and ignored me. This happened while my GM was at the hospital and someone from another store was helping out. He went behind me and got the person from the other store to say he could stay. I told my GM when I told him to clock out so she could change the time, but the end result was still the same. Our store is understaffed to the extent where he thinks that he can get away with anything because we need people, but I don't think we need people like this because they push out others." After I sent this, I talked to the HR lady and she seemed to be understanding. At first. But after talking to the guy and people on the shift, it was implied by her that I'd been asking for it by "going back and forth with him." I asked what I could say to make a grown man explode at me that way and was told, "he said he was just frustrated by the way you said it." Nothing has happened and I'm literally working a shift with him now because no one thinks he did anything with pulling him off the schedule. I'd like to know my options here because it's clear that this job doesn't care about my safety. He could follow me home from work since I walk. He could do anything. And no one seems to care. Edit: Thank all of you for helping me out with this honestly. I have never dealt with this kind of situation and it's made me a ball of nerves. I get uncomfortable being alone. Seeing him today just sent gave me the creeps, I couldn't believe they still expected me to be comfortable working next to him after that very public, very violent outburst. But you guys have at least given me some good direction on how to navigate this. To clarify where my original post may have been fuzzy, the violent threats are not a recurring thing, but the undermining behavior and teasing are. I'm worried this might be a slippery slope though. This guy's 6'4, so my 5'2 self is not exactly fit to fight back if he decides to ever make those threats a reality. I called the police department and they told me that my only real option was to call out an officer and that officer would determine what kind of threat it was and we'd go from there. I'm also in Georgia, if that helps. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 30 Apr 2019 12:43 PM PDT Sorry this is in Indiana Basically I have 2 coworkers who are all going for the same opening I am and I've been getting harassed by them for the last few months as I am already filling in for the person who's job is open (I don't hold the position I just am helping in order to help secure the opening) So it got to a tipping point and I went to HR and told her what's been going on she wrote what I said down word for word and then "accidentally" sent what she wrote down to the same people harassing me. The 2 coworkers didn't tell me this and the harassment increased for one day which I found really strange why it all of a sudden got worse after I went to HR. Then another coworker let me in on what happened. So now the two of them have coordinated stories to help back each other up and I am painted as a snitch which has made working even worse than it was just the 2 coworkers. Is there anything I can do? I feel robbed of justice and am now looked at as a snitch. Any advice would help. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Apr 2019 09:53 AM PDT They claim that they spent it on an emergency, without my knowledge. However, they refuse to pay me back a single penny of it. Is there anything I can do to at least get my $5000 back? I'm currently 14, if I try to talk to them I'll get shot down instantly, and I have no way to talk to a lawyer or attorney about it. I've been planning my life around this $5000, knowing exactly how I plan to spend it and planned to use it very well to help me start making money. What can I do to get my $5000 back? EDIT; they said they spent it on an emergency 3 years ago, but I can't think of any possible emergency that would have taken place in that time EDIT two: Madera County, California [link] [comments] |
If an employee promises me a refund does the company legally owe me one? Posted: 30 Apr 2019 05:52 AM PDT Me and my girlfriend received a text saying that our latenight FlixBus bus had been cancelled. Since we don't have very much money, we called FlixBus and the guy on the phone promised that we would be reimbursed for both the new ticket and a hotel. We made sure to take his name, and he said that the conversation had been recorded and promised that we would get money back. A week later they sent us a message saying they would only reimburse is "if you will continue the journey the day after with us and not booking another alternative transport. Therefore, since your ticket price has been refunded we regret that we cannot meet your request in this case for the Hotel costs." The problem is that the guy on the phone told us to book with Eurolines, not FlixBus, since FlixBus didn't have available space on any buses the next day!. He promised that we would get our money for both the hotel and the ticket regardless! Is there anything we can do in this situation? Edit: This was going from Rotterdam to London. I am currently living in England [link] [comments] |

One of her schemes was selling life insurance. So as practice she opened a policy on me. We eventually broke up and I was wondering if their was a way to cancel the policy? Just got a call from a debt collector asking if I knew her whereabouts so I might be a little nervous. I live in Maryland. [link] [comments] |
Room mate from hell [Canada, MB] Posted: 30 Apr 2019 07:48 AM PDT Friend has a house and rented or am extra room to his (f) friend. She signed a 5 month lease and had until August when the lease expires. His problems so far gave been: Late night parties when he verbally requested there not be due to work in the morning. Leaves the bathroom a huge mess. Her dog has puked on his bed, and carpets as well as shitting on them. She promised to pay for cleaners but after the shit stains sat on the carpet for a week he asked the person his roommate said she was going to use to just get it done now. And now she refuses to pay him. She also is gone 7am to 12 midnight and expects him to take care of her dog for her for free which in order to not neglect the poor thing, he has to. He wants her out but she hasn't broken the lease. What steps can he take to enforce cleanliness, responsibility for her problem dog, no late night parties, and to pay him back for the cleaning, or just get her out. [link] [comments] |
Tow truck driver claims no trespassing signs not enforceable (PA) Posted: 30 Apr 2019 04:33 AM PDT Repo man is looking for my sister's vehicle. She hasn't lived at my address for over two years, and I do not know her current address. He drove by at least one "Private Property, No Trespassing" sign on a private drive. I flagged him down on the other side of it. He claims that without a gate the sign is not enforceable. I made sure to get his info. Is he correct? I'm not protecting my sister, but I genuinely don't know where the vehicle is and having a repo man drive down a secluded private road(as in not owned or maintained by the township, but by the property owners) is both annoying to me and understandably upsetting to the other property owners on the drive. Do we need to get a gate to block access, or a full fence, or is he full of crap? [link] [comments] |
PayPal Buyer did a chargeback and they sided with the buyer Posted: 30 Apr 2019 12:38 PM PDT Title basically sums it up. I sold something on PayPal. Then later the buyer open a case on an unauthorized purchased, the day he opened the case I contacted PayPal support and provided all the information they asked for, then was told I was under Seller Protection. Now I lost the case and PayPal is saying they cannot do anything since the buyer did the chargeback through the bank and the bank handled the investigation. I now have a negative balance of $270 on PayPal. What can I do? I have proof of shipping/pictures of conversations/etc. EDIT: I am from Texas and the buyer is from New York [link] [comments] |
