Opening up a small store for common items to sell, in a third world country.

    Posted: 16 Apr 2019 10:47 PM PDT

I'm considering doing this, as I'm in the Philippines as an American.

Can hire a local for $3 a day to run the shop and secure sales.

Can sell shirts and other things for $3 each.. costing less than $1 to buy wholesale.

Any tips? Should I do it? First time making a business.

Hiring and vetting your first marketing firm (Mobile Application)

    Posted: 16 Apr 2019 01:34 PM PDT

I'm m in the process of bringing in a potential marketing firm in to promote the app I've been working on for about 3 years from now.

I have no idea how to vet a marketing firm besides asking for their portfolio and reaching out to people they've worked with before.

When you ask for a portfolio they're going to give you the base case results (of course)

Any red flags or keywords I should be looking for?

What are some great common questions that are a "must ask" in this situation?

I have a few agencies that are willing to come on for lower pay (As we are a startup)

Other firms are willing to come on for 5-10% equity of the company which I am highly skeptical of. If they were going to come in for equity their marketing expertise would have to be on a permanent basis.

Thank you for your time and answers.
