Amazon, Nike, and Shake Shack are just a few US companies that have this quarter warned that growth is slowing.

Nike said in its third-quarter earnings report out Thursday that while its profits were robust its North American sales growth slowed.

A handful of notable US companies have warned of a slowdown as economic growth cools around the world.

    Cash / Share, importance ?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 05:55 AM PDT

When checking out companies, how much value do put on Cash/Share (in %) over things like say PE or PEG ?

In addition, i find it quite confusing that cash/share is always listed in absolute terms, whereas i think i would make far more sense to show it as % of share.

Is there a specific reason why would you want abs numbers for this over relative values ?

Unless Lululemon is able to establish itself as a modern day Nike with the modern day equivalent of Michael Jordan, it’s hard to see how its products cannot be replicated and its market position weakened.

Lululemon's total addressable market may be expanding but, even assuming many years of strong growth, its valuation induces dizziness. At the end of the day, this is a fashion company operating in a fickle industry. Or what am I missing?

This is not a recommendation to buy or sell. Stocks are not suitable investments for everyone. Please do your own research.

Would it not be better for Apple to focus on hardware design and its “Wearables, Home, and Accessories” department? Surely this is where Apple has the ability to add real value.

Services and streaming are an important add on but, to me, they rank second to the main business of hardware design.

This is not a recommendation to buy or sell. Stocks are highly risky and not suitable for all investors. Please consult with a Registered Investment Advisor.

Boeing Was ‘Go, Go, Go’ to Beat Airbus With the 737 Max

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 01:03 PM PDT

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/23/business/boeing-737-max-crash.html

Boeing faced an unthinkable defection in the spring of 2011. American Airlines, an exclusive Boeing customer for more than a decade, was ready to place an order for hundreds of new, fuel-efficient jets from the world's other major aircraft manufacturer, Airbus.

The chief executive of American called Boeing's leader, W. James McNerney Jr., to say a deal was close. If Boeing wanted the business, it would need to move aggressively, the airline executive, Gerard Arpey, told Mr. McNerney.

To win over American, Boeing ditched the idea of developing a new passenger plane, which would take a decade. Instead, it decided to update its workhorse 737, promising the plane would be done in six years.

The 737 Max was born roughly three months later.

    Honest thoughts on $AAPL?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 11:20 AM PDT

I felt the best time to buy was a few weeks ago. Their event is coming up apparently which is more service focused than hardware focused. I'm so torn about apple. Thoughts?

    Momentum Traders Watch-List for 3.25.2019

These tickers were viewed on the one year daily chart and met my bearish criteria for: Downward momentum by breaking the lower Bollinger Bands thus shifting direction from bullish or sideways and putting it into what appears to be the beginning stages off a sell off over the last 3 trading periods.

    Request for reccomendations

    Posted: 23 Mar 2019 10:11 PM PDT

Hi, I have about $15,000 available for long term investment... for 2018 IRA contributions (both myself, and my wife)

I'm looking for suggestions for stocks to buy and hold for at least 10 years...I'd like to get 3 different issues (for about $5,000 each)I would also like to not duplicate anything I (we) are currently holding...Obviously looking for maximum return, balanced against least (or reasonably least) risk...

I'm currently self managing both IRA's, and am doing pretty well with self research...

Open to Stocks, Mutuals, ETFs and possibly bonds as well...

Thanks, in advance for any thoughts on this...
