Is there a “checklist” or anything like that that you guys do before buying a stock? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 07:36 AM PST I was wondering if you guys follow a list or something like that before buying a stock to make sure it's for you. [link] [comments] |
General Electric vs Whirlpool Corporation Posted: 06 Feb 2019 12:33 PM PST Which if these two stocks, in you opinion, will be better off within the next 1-2, 5-10 years? What are pros and con to both of these companies and which would you advise for and against? [link] [comments] |
My first researched pick (PCTY) has been doing well! What was your first well-researched stock pick? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 08:34 AM PST "Researched" in that i had specific metrics i was looking for...I was looking for stock picking methods for 1-5 years and came across "GARP" investing, Growth At Reasonable Price. I won't go to far into detail about to look for and why but here at the metrics i used on finviz:
I play around with the debt sometimes, because there are some really good stocks i've come across that have a little more debt. My first pick was actually MSFT but thats only cause i had to do a whole project in my last semester of finance comparing it to APPL and estimating its value. After watching PCTY and learning about its business, i decided to go ahead and buy. I probably bought a little high but w/e. I got in at $72 shortly before the correction. I probably should've waited knowing that much of the market was overvalued at the time, but i was eager lol. My next pick is looking like Visa. I've compared it to Mastercard, only thing i need to do now is estimate the price...i need a method without needing to forcast statements and shit. [link] [comments] |
Is the renewable energy market good for long term growth? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 10:20 AM PST I'm a newer investor, as well as a first time poster, looking to secure my portfolio with long-term growth investments before I start taking on short-term volatile risks. One thing that I've been thinking about lately, as well as some articles suggesting, that with an increasing consumer push towards renewable and sustainable energy sources that it would be a good place to invest money in renewable and sustainable energy companies. Especially due to increasing evidence of climate change, cost of oil, and the increase of global modernization. But on the other hand renewable energy has only recently began to pick up speed so it is hard, for me at least, to get a good reading on how this market, as well as specific companies, will preform. I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on this? Plus a few tips and tricks to help me make a confident decision. Thank you in advance [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Feb 2019 10:06 AM PST As a first time investor, finishing up reading the Wiki and poking at things here and there, I feel ready to make my first big move. I am thinking about starting with Amazon and a few VISA shares in the future. What are your thoughts? Any help/suggestion is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Feb 2019 01:50 PM PST How can a company see a 20%+ jump on earnings when they are reporting -0.14 per share like SNAP did today? [link] [comments] |
Anyone here have thoughts on North American Palladium PDL Posted: 06 Feb 2019 09:47 AM PST Invested in them about a month ago with the recent surge in Palladium prices. About a week ago they came out with strong 2018 production results and have q4 financials planned for the upcoming week. They are up around 12% on the week, 34% from 3 months ago and are on quite the run today. I am quite interested what other catalysts you may think are fuelling this stock other than rising palladium prices. Palladium is heavily used in the automotive industry; I am fearful with all the recent news of declining auto sales numbers that Palladium's price can't sustain this run up posing a big risk to these guys. Im thinking it might be a good time to sell out and enjoy my gains on the lead-up to a hopefully strong Q4 Results [link] [comments] |

What is your feelings on Disney and their future streaming service? Posted: 05 Feb 2019 05:49 PM PST I want to invest alot in Disney as maybe a short term gain or long term investment after their service comes out. I feel that taking all their content off of Netflix will make parents move to their service and with their new star wars content. What do you think? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Feb 2019 12:25 PM PST I'm holding a large CMG position (covered call + long unbalanced near ATM, far ITM put calendar spread) with a nearly neutral but slightly positive delta. I'm predicting an earnings meet, then a slight dip in price because of the consistent earnings beats for the last year. Planning to take profits due to IV crush / buyback or possible OTM expiration of short ITM portion of calendar spread (expiring friday). Anyone else watching this earnings call closely? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 12:14 PM PST Hello, new lurker on this subreddit. Wanted to know what you guys think about DOWDUPONT. Ive been trying to diversify my portfolio with stocks that pay dividends. I currently have in my porfolio INTC, FORD, and VIV . Ive been looking at DowDupont due to their recent drop. Any help will be appreciated. I currently have 1000 so that i can invest in different things. [link] [comments] |
Is anyone here holding shares in CLSK? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 12:01 PM PST I've been doing some research and they have great opportunity to take off, especially in the weed growing industry through their energy efficiency.. it seems they don't have a lot of money behind their company so hopefully someone here can offer advice? [link] [comments] |
Which stocks you would recommend me to dump? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 02:45 AM PST https://i.imgur.com/GKS6KVD.png I got in just before the crash so there's a lot of red, I guess SNE won't catch up until the next PS5 release hype which might be any moment now since there's not that many releases, Xiaomi mostly got screwed by China investors ban, my candidates are the weed stocks since it was just a gamble for fun and it only makes additional loses because I have to pay yearly for each foreign stock hold although not sure when to dump. What do you guys think of DCAR? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 11:28 AM PST Saw it it looked like a cool concept figured it would probably be a good investment in time [link] [comments] |
This is why I think Twitter will go through the roof tomorrow. What're your thoughts? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 11:17 AM PST Twitter earnings are almost here! Jack Dorsey has been joining Sam Harris and Joe Rogan's podcasts the last couple of days. I do not know about you guys, but there's no way in one million years that I would attend some podcasts, if I didn't know that I would present some absolutely SMASHING earnings. Imagine if he would present shit numbers? What would the stakeholders say about his commitment to Twitter? I'll definitely move some of my holdings to Twitter. Do you have any final advice? What does everybody think about AMD? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 09:27 AM PST I've been following AMD and NVDA recently. Stuck between both of them. In my personal opinion I think AMD has a better outlook then NVDA. Just wanted to know what everyone thought about AMD. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Feb 2019 04:56 AM PST This is a follow up on a post of mine from late 2018. Bought CSCO in 2011, sitting on a whole lot of green. Initially i wanted to sell at 50 $ bucks, which it didnt quite reach. Since then it had 3 highs close to 50, but then dropped a lot due to trade war and stuff each time. Right now its close to 50 again and has been trading flat for the 3 last days. Earnings are late next week. Im wondering if i should jump ship with the price being relaitively close to my initial exit-point as well as a chance of anewed trade tensions and / or bad ER. Help...please ? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Feb 2019 06:39 AM PST Nintendo is just spanking me, is there something I missing here? I've just been losing money since I bought them and am hoping to recoup my losses but it just keeps dropping. Not sure if I should hold or cut my losses, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated [link] [comments] |
