How to grow a small software boutique firm? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 11:27 PM PST Hi All, Me and a friend run a small software boutique firm. My friend started the company 6 years ago and I joined him after. After some turbulent years, we have finally hit steady growth and posted a nominal profit last year. Our team has also grown in size considerably and we have hired good talent in development, analytics and machine learning. Last year we started serving clients from the US, Europe and Africa as well. But most of our clients are still from our network. All of our clients are Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs) looking for automating their processes, except for a big audit firm. While we have served a lot of clients for their web, application development and automation needs, we want to provide services in AI, ML and DL to SMEs at budgets comfortable to them. We want to continue the growth phase we are going through, just wanted to ask you guys the following -
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance :) [link] [comments] |
Who do you like for SMS marketing? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 11:09 PM PST I am looking to handle some customer relationship management with SMS marketing solutions, and wanted to get r/smallbusiness input. I won't have more than a couple hundred messages a month. I would prefer emails, but my clients prefer SMS. Who do you guys like/dislike? [link] [comments] |
What CRM are you using for a service business? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 06:21 PM PST I have about 100 clients in a pool service business. I use quickbooks for managing invoices and estimates. I'd like a CRM where I can do the following -organize by name -write notes -take photos -integrate with quickbooks -manage quickbooks estimates -contact info for each client and a space for info about pool (size, equipment, ongoing issues, photos) I know i may be asking for a lot, but If you have any recommendations, that would be great! I want to franchise a new car dealership Posted: 24 Feb 2019 08:01 PM PST Hello, I am currently interested in starting a new car dealership. I've got little business knowledge besides a few classes, and have no idea where to begin. After looking around though, I've came up with the idea to create an Audi car dealership in a midsized city in North Carolina called Fayetteville. I've found nothing on the internet on how to put this into motion. If it helps, I am in my early 20's, I have $95,000 in cash, and was approved for a $1.1 million home loan last year. My second picks on a location basis are Jaguar/Land Rover, Lexus, and Alfa Romeo. [link] [comments] |
Brother is pitching me on a federal student loan consolidation business. Posted: 24 Feb 2019 07:53 PM PST So there's seems to be a ton of grey area in this business and was wondering if anyone on here could help with advice. I currently run a debt collection agency so it would be an easy transition and add on to my current model. However, I would like to do things by the book to avoid any legal issues or complaints. Building and growing an online business Posted: 24 Feb 2019 06:24 PM PST How does one start a business that is geared towards online. I'm very interested in this but how do you find the following. 1.) someone to build the website 2.) people to use your site (people actually entering it and engaging on it) 3.) make sure that if you're selling a product your not liable for what will come. Example amazon selling a product that is not what the person ordered and company won't refund it. Or Airbnb renting homes that someone trashes, how does Airbnb avoid the home owner trying to collect the fund from them. Sorry if these are kind of very open and starter level questions. If you're going to be negative and rude please don't respond to this. Thanks for the help! [link] [comments] |
Tracking employee weekly labor hours by job for job costing Posted: 24 Feb 2019 06:07 PM PST Is there a open source or free software that can track employee labor hours by job to do job costing? It can be a database or desktop software. There are about 25 construction laborers who go to 1-6 jobs a day, every day. Each job could be anywhere from 1-7 days, sometimes longer. There's probably about 150 jobs a month, maybe more. Each laborer is given their schedule for the day in the morning. They leave the office at around 8:30am for their job(s) for the day and travel from one job to another as they finish their tasks at each job. They call the office when they arrive at the jobsite and leave the jobsite so I know how long their travel time is. I also want to be able to account for their travel (overhead) time, as well as any time they spend in the office or shop to clean equipment and what not. I'm hoping I don't have to build a database from scratch. I know there's a MS Access template for time tracking, but I don't know what it includes and I don't have MS Access. Thank you! Have a nose for business? I need your opinion! Posted: 24 Feb 2019 11:32 AM PST Hi, First time starting a business here! I am developing an easy-donate app. It would mean the world to me if you could pitch in with your opinion about what it should be called. Direct mailing samples to retailers... What address to use? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 03:09 PM PST Hi everyone, hopefully this is ok to post here, but I wanted some advice from marketers. I'm a very small business putting together a little sample and sell sheet package to send to retailers in the hopes that some might stock my goods... But I'm wondering if it will get delivered using the store addresses pulled from their info on google and their websites. Do a lot shops have a PO box for mail? And if so, is there an easy way I can find a stores mailing address? I just don't want to waste a bunch of money on sending these out if it's likely they'll never get into the hands of the owners. Posted: 24 Feb 2019 01:17 PM PST Hi everyone! I am thinking about starting a physical bookshop/stationer's in my city. It's not a big city (around 15k citizens) however there is only one shop of this kind and I somehow managed to get a good spot (around 100 m2 just in front of a high school). I'm concerned about Amazon and the increasingly online shopping trend. What do you guys think about starting a business like this? Does anybody know about the margins of this kind of businesses? Any advice? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Small business with initial investment of 1k-2k? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 12:36 PM PST I need to generate money, but from home, I'm in university plus german classes so I barely got time for work, I have a part time job managing social media but this is the last payment I receive and I'll have to quit because they just needed me until march. My skills so far for work are english and spanish translations and social media management, but I'm looking for something different. I'm from Chile, and I'd love to hear what have you done with 1000$ or 2000$, maybe even share a business model if that won't interfere with yours! Thanks a lot [link] [comments] |
How can I find what regulations I need to follow to sell a dietary supplement online? Posted: 24 Feb 2019 12:35 PM PST I've been looking into selling an energy shot type of beverage with vitamins and other supplements. I believe it's something that I could bottle myself and sell online. I have a marketing plan and I know what ingredients (flavoring, preservatives, etc.) I need. All I need to know is what regulations I need to follow to be selling online on my own. Does anyone know where I can find this type of information for various chemicals/minerals? [link] [comments] |
