19 years old and new to the business world. Any tips?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 08:52 PM PST

My dad and I recently started a company in the very lucrative industry of material handling. I started working with him last year and I realize that this is an opportunity that few get fresh out of high school. In two months time we've made well over $100k for the business with change to spare. I'm inexperienced in the business world and am looking to absorb the wisdom and knowledge of those more experienced than myself. Any tips to help my kickstart my career and live up to my full potential in this business?

    Cheers.

I am attempting to become a wholesaler

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 10:06 PM PST

Hello everybody, I am a 17 year old (M) with a plan to start a business providing inventory for restaurants, bars, Delis, etc... I'd be looking to provide paper items such as toilet paper, napkins, plates, plastic forks, knives, things of that nature. With this kind of goal in mind does it seem realistic? With major brand name competitors I feel like it'd be a waste of time and money, any thoughts?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 04:57 PM PST

Performance-Based Standards (PBS) has come a long way since it was first introduced by the National Transport Commission (NTC) in 2007. Over a decade later, a growing number of fleets are realising the advantages of innovative, optimised engineering and how that directly impacts the profitability of a business. The number of registered vehicles, to date, is steadily on the rise year-on-year.

Microsoft's CEO on the 3 qualities that make a great leader

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 08:10 PM PST

I'm interested in pursuing a leadership position in a tech company. Is that feasible if I play my cards right?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 07:08 PM PST

I have a bachelors degree in Computer Science & Fine Arts. I'm currently completing my Masters in Modeling&Simulation Engineering. I am debating pursuing a PhD in M&S as well.

However, during my time working at my job, I was inspired to find out the CEO was a woman (the company is immensely successful). I looked into her credentials, and saw she was a business ME. Would getting a second masters in Business allow me to potentially find my way into a position like that, or would I still be restricted to strictly software engineering positions? I know people like Elon Musk double majored in Business and Physics. I don't know if it would be considered insufficient considering most my education falls under the comp sci sector, not business.

Also, my bachelors degrees were not at Harvard or anything comparable. It was a local college that is kind of average. Not prestigious. I can't go back and undo that. Would that severely affect me?

Partnership of 3 with different profit gain, should the expenses share equally amongst memebers or they should they be same as profit gain.

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 02:45 PM PST

    Hello all

2 other people proposed me to partnership with them. We have agreed for a percentage on profits amongst us 40% 30% 30% , 40% being me.

What about the expenses ? What is the fair thing to do? is it 33% 33% 33% or again 40% 30% 30% ?

I know , potato level of economics

    thank you

    Ideas

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 04:52 PM PST

Hello all! I (18m) have a really strong feeling that college isn't for me. I have been looking for other things to do, i.e. real estate and starting a business. Every time I suggest this to my family to rage at me saying I will be a loser which doesn't bother me but what does is the underlying threat of being kicked out before I am on my feet. Anyway where do you guys get ideas to start a business?

I’m 18, and want to start a business. Advice?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 12:50 PM PST

So I want to start a limousine service. I have some cash saved up and I would like to start small with only 1 limo. I would personally do all the driving at first but would hopefully expand to having employees. My biggest fear is that I won't be able to go through with it and have wasted a lot of money at such a young age and be stuck with a limo. Any advice?
