    NTRI, why won't you die?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2019 08:27 AM PST

After their acquisition last month by Tivity Health, with shares valued at $43, NTRI jumped from 35 to 45. I viewed this as an overestimate and took a bearish options position (with expiry break-even of $43.20 on Jan 11). My max profit/ max loss ratio on the position is awesome, at 470% (with 140% ratio within 1 standard deviation @ expiry).

Since then, even with the violent swings of the overall market, NTRI has been a rock at anywhere from $42-$43.

I'm considering dumping the position when today's rally ends, before it actually turns into a loss -- if this was truly an overpayment of premium by the acquiring company, how long until we might expect to see that in the NTRI price?

As the title says. Thoughts if its still a bear market or not? Debating whether or not to keep buying dips and averaging down or just wait it out to throw in a bigger lump sum. Thoughts?

TTWO - Am I buying the dip or wasting my time?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2019 08:04 AM PST

So I got into Take Two at 118$, and since the release of their latest game, the stock has languished around the 100$ mark. A lot of analysis I have read or seen predicts a 150$ point for them in 2019, but while I am hopeful and optimistic that could happen, with the current dip the stock has taken, I'm not sure if it will rally as expected. Despite the game crushing all expectations of sales, they've lost a sizable chunk out of the stock and I feel like a mook. Any thoughts?

Why do all stocks fall when 1 stock falls?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2019 01:32 PM PST

Or do they not? Like, when apple fell, all stocks fell. Apple probably had bigger losses but other stocks also fell. I would expect it to be the other way around. If apple falls by a huge numbers, that means a lot of people sold it, and now they should have money to Invest in other companies. But instead, all companies start falling. What's the reason?

    Salvaging netflix stock?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2019 01:21 PM PST

I bought Netflix when it was $376 and held onto it for a few months. I don't want to let any stock go without seeing profit and definitely don't wanna lose $75-100. Should I keep holding or will it just go down?

Personally I think Netflix is just gonna do worse unless something new comes out on it, but I admittedly don't follow stocks or anything as much as I'd like to. I'm mostly a short term investor and this is one of very few shares I haven't made at least a minuscule profit on.

Why has Apple not continued falling today?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2019 12:54 PM PST

After tim's surprising, or not as the case may be, reassessment of upcoming earnings, Apple tanked over 9%.

Today it has recovered nearly half of that, back up around 4%.

Why did it not continue it's fall, what with a drop in revenue, as well as unit sales, and no new leaked products?

In today's world, despite apple's secrecy, everything is leaked sooner or later with so many supply chains intertwined etc etc. And other than AirPods and another iPhone iteration, there is nothing major for the foreseeable future of probably around 5 years, that would look to move the needle in any meaningful way.

Now that iPhones are officially at full saturation point. And with global weakening economies, particular china's, should the stock not be continuing its descent much, much lower ?

Thoughts on Altria ($MO) and Constellation Brands ($STZ) as 'Blue Chip' marijuana plays? I view them as a 'blue chip' marijuana business

    Posted: 04 Jan 2019 11:48 AM PST

They've both taken a beating, and both are investing in marijuana companies and products.

Altria is extremely valuable to me in the legal space, actually. Think lobbying and legislation of marijuana at the federal level. I mean, don't hate the player, hate the game. Altria is also investing in Cronos.

STZ is investing in Canopy Growth and is looking at marijuana infused drinks.

Both of these plays have been beaten down. Not only do they have compelling revenue from sin products already, but both are dipping their toes in marijuana.

These are my conservative marijuana plays.

Here is a list of things that I think will drive Apple’s market valuation down a lot more (does not include upcoming global recession):

    Posted: 04 Jan 2019 12:45 AM PST

    1. Apple products are overpriced and not aligned with the market (30-40% price increase on most hardware products in 2018)
    2. There are many better or equal phones for 40-50% less (its important since iPhone is a significant portion of Apple's revenue)
    3. If iPhones dont sell well, the service revenue from App store will start to decrease too
    4. Apple doesn't innovate enough to justify price increases or entice yearly iPhone updates
    5. Apple as a company does not diversify their business — I say at least 50% of company's market cap is tied to iPhone
    6. Apple is currently passing on too many innovations like 5G, fast charging, better cameras, better screens and others
    7. They try to be industry leaders by changing the wrong things (why get rid of the headphone jack, home button and etc.)
    8. They are outright greedy by charging unreasonable prices in App store. They still try to charge companies 30% for transactions from apps that were downloaded through App store. For example, they tried to charge Wechat 30% transaction fee for people sending money through the app. That's just an outright greed.
    9. Phone market is maturing and market saturation is increasing. Once again, Apple is iPhone and iPhone is Apple.
    10. Apple charges $1,500 for top of the line iPhone but comes without fast charger and Bluetooth headphones?

These are just a few thing I, personally perceive as a significant factors driving current and future decline in Apple's stock price.

One more quick note, I have been shorting Apple stock for past 3-4 months. I put my money where my mouth is...:)

In a day of ridiculous ‘Apple is doomed’ Hype, another patent reveals Apple is dead serious in Tech Fabric( to be used in clothing and devices), Gaming and Ride hailing technology( to name just a few)

    Posted: 03 Jan 2019 07:53 PM PST

    https://www.fastcompany.com/90287049/new-apple-patents-reveal-smart-fabric-and-gaming-ambitions

'This latest one–which was first filed in September 2016–shows just one image, with the title "Fabric," of what appears to be ridged material; the patent describes the ridges as "contrasting appearance." This may seem like a one-off diversion for the company, but over the last few years Apple has had a number of fabric-adjacent patents approved.'

"That's not the only thing on Apple's design mind either–the company had 43 patents approved this time around, including one that focuses on multiplayer gaming and another that involves ride hailing implementation in Apple Maps."

Yup. The company is so " failing"

More evidence that they are looking to go BIG TIME into healthcare related products/services/Paraphernalia.( to say the least) This is in addition to the existing Watch ECG and Healthcare services they are looking to provide in the coming future.

This is besides the Patent filed for an Apple Glove for AR and VR applications

    https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/01/03/apple-researching-wearable-glove-input-device-to-simplify-interactions-with-ar-vr/amp/

Yeah- ill bet they are not going ANYWHERE.
