In which state should I form my LLC?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2018 07:13 PM PST

So to start out, my business is E-Commerce, and I have no physical office. I have heard from so many sources that the benefits of creating an LLC in your home state far outweigh the benefits of creating in one of the "hyped-up" states like Wyoming, Nevada, or Delaware. However my question falls along the lines of, Where is my home state? I go to the University of Alabama and will be here for 2 or 3 more years, but I have a house back in Tennessee which is my permanent address. I will be working in my rented apartment at school for the rest of this year, but will be getting a new place for 6 months after that and then I will be in Germany for 6 months after that. Then I will come back to school in Alabama for a year or two and then I graduate. Overall, my address in Alabama will be constantly shifting, for the next three years, and then will be non-existent because I do not plan to stay in Alabama. My address in Tennessee is a bit more stable, but I will not be working from there most of the time for the next three years. Should I form in Tennessee or Alabama? Any help is appreciated!

Currently, most corporate law is left to states. The U.S. needs to adopt a uniform corporate law that preempts the States, and Recognizes and Mandates a corporate fiduciary duty to employees, not just to investors

Starting an online business with $1k?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2018 04:10 PM PST

I'm trying to explore my options of possibly opening up a online store. Or selling on amazon/Ebay.

I've thought about starting a online headshop but after some research I've learned it's hard to advertise for a shop like that (although it's not completely crossed off my list just yet) so I was trying to see what other options, if any, I might have.

Would it even be possible to start a successful online store with around $1000?

    Too young for my job?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2018 02:14 PM PST

So about a couple of months ago I really got in good with this customer service job at a BSW in my area. Things were going pretty good up until I was being set up with this temp agency so I could be hired on in a probationary type of way if that makes any sense. During the interview with the temp agency I picked up sort of a weird vibe from the supervisors like they thought I was under suited for the job due to my age (19 years). This sort of carried over into my customer service job from my supervisor at BSW when I was finally a temporary employee. Nothing upfront was mentioned about my age but every once in a while I'm talked to in a weird kind of way that sort of suggests an impatience due to my age. My temp agency still kind of treats me the same whenever they call me for something. It's super infuriating but I've never been in this much of a formal work environment so I'm not sure if it's a normal occurrence or not. Am I just over analyzing? Or should I even be in this sort of job at my age to begin with?

Hypothetical: If I could get your small business its own customer engagement app for $500, would you take it?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2018 11:54 AM PST

This is a business idea I have and was wondering how often small businesses (ma and pop) would bite at something like this. The app would have deal and discount features, as well as flash deals exclusive to those who have downloaded the app.

    Scummy business partners

    Posted: 04 Dec 2018 10:16 AM PST

Hey so 2 years ago when I was 18 I helped start this company with my 28yo buddy and my friends dad. I had found this vape pen that was similar to the juul but for THC oils. Well after some time passed my partners started to act really weird. I guess they had met together with out me and agreed to split the company 50/50. Claiming the resin was that I didn't invest any money in the early stages. Well some time passes and they need more money for the business so I give them $18,500 and state that I'm giving them the money for equal representation in the company. They stoped inviting me to meetings and have been slowly keeping me out of the loop. When I sat down with two of my partners a few weeks ago one of them basically threatened me saying he runs the show and he could get rid of me if he wanted. I'm pissed because I'm the one who gave them the product line and the biggest investment. Since they have been keeping me out of the loop they have also been selling a lot of product under the table. I kind of want to turn them in but I don't want anything to come back to me even though I haven't sold anything illegally like they have. Any suggestions?
