What are your best strip-lining/take away techniques? Posted: 03 Nov 2018 06:59 AM PDT I've used strip-lining as a technique for many years now while working in software sales with amazing results. I first learned this technique while taking a Sandler Sales Training course. However, I would love to see how different individuals incorporate different techniques. Here is an example of a strip-lining email that has given me fantastic results:Hello (name)I assume from your lack of response that you are no longer interested in this discussion. That's no problem at all. If you could just reply back and confirm that I'm reading you correctly, I will focus elsewhere,All the best, (salesperson's name) [link] [comments] |
How to deal with new reps coming in and territory shrinking? Posted: 03 Nov 2018 08:07 AM PDT I'm relatively new to sales. Had a great first two quarters. Almost hit quota first quarter and exceeded it my second quarter. My feedback has been good to great so far. I just learned we're bring in a new rep and I assume my Territory will be shrinking. Is this a red flag? Any best practices on dealing with this situation? [link] [comments] |
I split my fingers open smashing the sales gong today Posted: 02 Nov 2018 02:01 PM PDT Huge win for me at the end of last month and after months of work - I got to gong it today after the team meeting. I finally penetrated a new market for us (freight logistics - I sell predictive analytics software) and this was a bear of a deal operationally, largest deal for me yet, tons of legal back and fourth, a bunch of on-sites, partner contract bullshit, tons of resources, you name it. Was it a complete caveman move? Yes. Do my fingers king of hurt? You bet. Was it worth it to celebrate and get my team and boss fired up? Fucking absolutey. Happy selling - don't forget to have fun every once in a while. Just be careful! Here are my fingers: [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Nov 2018 08:33 AM PDT A friend of mine and long time mentor had recently been contemplating changing firms and I had made the switch several months ago to a smaller private company which is much more efficiently run, more leads and overall better quality of life. It took some major recruiting to sell my friend on the idea he'd make more money then he was making plus leave behind major seniority he had at his former employer, I ended up getting him on board and the owners are basically rolling out the red carpet for him and are over the moon about having him they made some small promises to me but what should I actually receive as an adequate compensation for landing the best of the best and possibly the top agent in the industry. Compelling event qualification Posted: 03 Nov 2018 03:54 AM PDT Hi! Would love to know what type of questions you guys ask to detect and qualify the compelling event that drives the opportunity. I'm a sales executive in the SaaS context. Thanks!! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Nov 2018 08:20 AM PDT Hey guys... want to get your opinion on a cold email I'm writing. Sending this to a puppy loving director of marketing at a B2C brand. We're selling a product offering aimed at improving repeat customer rate and creating brand evangelist. https://i.gyazo.com/116b49fc0f65897f11d0b361cc754a06.gif Curious to hear overall thoughts here. Posted: 02 Nov 2018 07:32 PM PDT So I just started selling cars, i work for chevy selling their products and what ever used cars we get in from trade-ins. The commission on new cars is only $150 its actually a flat rate not a commission and on used cars its 25% of gross profit which tends to be anywhere from 100-500$. I work 60hr weeks and currently still in collage taking all online classes due to the amount of hours I work... My issue is that a friend of mine had to pull major strings for me to be here and I dont want to quit/give up on him but on my side of things, im drinking and smoking alot more than i should be for my age (22) and am finding my self very unhappy, due to my high (apparently unreasonable) expectations of the job and pay rates of selling cars. and im not making enough money. For some perspective my store had to hit 160 new cars last month and going off of what some of the top guys sold we only made it to 120/160. I personally only sold 6 cars and the top guys with offices and loaner cars only sold 10-15 each. what're your guys opinion of this, were my expectations high or are there still car salesmen rocking rolexs and driving nice cars that are actually paid for ? Posted: 02 Nov 2018 10:40 PM PDT I'm interviewing for a job I want. I had a phone interview with the manager, went pretty good. He said I'd hear from the recruiter within 3 days whether or not I'd get a face to face interview. He Said October and November were a busy season, so expect an interview towards the end of November. I've been following up with the recruiter once a week since. It's been three weeks. The recruiter stoped responding last week. Sent an email yesterday asking for an update. And then another today saying sorry if I came across pushy, I'm just excited, etc. no response. Did I fuck myself over? [link] [comments] |
Struggling with my new sales rep job for Web Dev/Web Hosting/Web Design Posted: 02 Nov 2018 05:47 PM PDT Is there a market gap for this industry or am I just a bad salesman? I've applied everything that I learned here and upping my numbers but I've yet to close anyone. I'm not giving up but I was just hoping someone could give some input. I've been cold calling and cold emailing businesses. Or 'warm' calling by researching more about the company/business. Any input is appreciated [link] [comments] |
Confused about my interview process Posted: 02 Nov 2018 10:34 PM PDT This is what happened: 10/7 Applied for an SDR position 10/18 Received an email from an HR rep asking to provide availability dates for a phone screen 10/23 Last date that I mentioned in my response. Didn't hear anything back, so I called them and left a voicemail. Got a call at the end of the day from a different HR rep for the phone screening. Felt like it was one my best interviews I've had. I was very prepared for this. Sent an email thanking for the interview later on. 10/25 Got a response to my thank you email saying she would update me on the status and that she will keep in touch 11/1 Still haven't gotten a status update, so I send a follow-up email asking for an update. Also mentioned that I'm still excited about hearing the next steps. Later that day, I get an automated email saying that they're looking at other candidates 11/1 Talking with the sales manager and she mentions that they put the SDR role on hold to be "reworked" at the beginning of next year. She also mentions that she's not sure when it would be posted again I should note that I'm currently a senior in uni and I've met with the sales manager a couple of times now. She's also good friends with my professor (my professor recommended me to the sales manager). Should I continue to pursue this? Really confused as to what exactly happened. [link] [comments] |
Record calls made by marketing person on my behalf Posted: 02 Nov 2018 09:42 PM PDT Hi, I have a "rough" prospect list that I need to clean. In the past, I have hired someone from sites like Upwork or Fiverr and I need to get this running again. On other occasions, I didn't record or accurately tracked the performance of the job and just relayed on the person updating the Excel spreadsheet that I gave them. This time I would like to record all the calls and since the marketing person is working from his home/office, etc, I don't know how to accomplish this. Any thoughts? Skype, Teams? Something like Grasshopper or Twillo? Ideally, the calls should come from a local area code. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Is anybody familiar with AdamsRemco? (good to work for?) Posted: 02 Nov 2018 07:11 PM PDT Hey everyone, I am interested in getting into sales. Today I had an interview with Adams Remco. They sell Office Tech such as high end printers and scanners. The interview went okay, I was offered a second interview which I will have to make a pitch next week. Anyway, have any of you guys worked with or for this company? What was your experience like? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
