    Nasdaq 100 Index

    Posted: 09 Nov 2018 11:01 PM PST

Hey guys. So recently an AMC in India decided to bring in the Nasdaq 100 Index that as the name suggests tracks the N100 Index.

My question is whether people look at this index and invest for long term horizons (5years+) or is it just believed to be an over saturated tech index that hasn't corrected enough ?

    Afraid of recession, any tips?

    Posted: 10 Nov 2018 02:20 AM PST

So I have been saving/investing for the past few years. Now I have some extra money that I would love to invest but I'm too afraid that I would invest just before a recession. I feel that I should wait for the market to go down and then invest but I know it might not be the best tactic.

Berkshire 13F Released Tomorrow. What are your expectations?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2018 11:02 AM PST

It seems Buffett trusts his team more on deciding where to allocate their money. The recent moves into the fintech industry and increasing positions in AAPL have me wondering what this quarter will look like.

We all know Buffett likes investing in value so with the recent volatility, where do you guys think they put their money? My money's on $BK, $LUV, $TEVA.

    Advice on ETFs

    Posted: 09 Nov 2018 10:21 PM PST

    Hey guys,

I am investing newbie and thus looking for advice from you experienced folks! I want a low risk long term investment, and figured ETFs is the go-to. I want to open an account with Vanguard and invest in the S&P500.

My problem is - I am from Europe, living in Australia with no clear idea where I am going to live next 10/5/2 years. Should I register through Australian Vanguard, American Vanguard, or am I even eligible as an European? Does my location/citizenship matter at all?

Couldn't find the answer elsewhere, hence I am here. Thanks!

    Best trading broker?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2018 09:50 PM PST

I've been reading a bunch of articles on this app called Plus 500 and apparently it's a fraud that has been going on for a while. Any ideas on what other brokers I could use for international stock trading? Ps. I don't live in the US

    ATVI getting slaughtered

    Posted: 09 Nov 2018 08:09 AM PST

Down 13% to $54 as I speak.. I bought ATVI as a hedge against EA.. What should I do now? Sell it? This is an all time low for the year. Why are video game stocks (both EA and ATVI) doing so poorly?

Can anyone help with Long Term Investing Mindset?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2018 02:56 PM PST

So I started investing around June, and I have dabbled in and out of trades. I tried options, and yes eventually I found WSB. I found myself getting into riskier plays and getting good and bad results. I tried day trading, I tried shorting, I tried swing trading...

At the end of 6 months, I ended up with 1000$ profit, and 4000$ worth of trader fees. My account is currently worth 120,000 USD, and only 1000$ of that is profit.

I found this to be a ginormous waste of time and waste of energy. The days of watching tickers go up and down and being glued to the screen just for 1000$??? What a waste of time and energy and stress.

How do you guys just put money into mutual funds or stocks and just let it sit and not check every 5 seconds? I want to do that, but I don't know what's wrong with me. I always check. Constantly. I WANT to invest long term, but I'm so tempted by short term gains and quick money...and sometimes I win, and sometimes I lose.

I want to be a long term investor, I want to my money to grow and compound, I want to quit this gambling addiction, I want my money to work for me, What are the best resources to read to invest wisely?

China's export boom is a worrying signal that Trump's trade war is going to get worse

    Posted: 09 Nov 2018 05:06 AM PST

China has been front-loading exports to the US ahead of a looming rise in tariffs in January.

Chinese stocks tumbled today on trade war fears and worries about a slowing Chinese economy.

Experts are pessimistic about the outcome of a Trump-Xi meeting at the G20 summit later this month.

Investors focus on retailers as wages rise

Seeing more of these recently. Common folks getting fired because the system can't afford them. On the other hand, keeping a handful of good employees who work smart by results even if paid higher will result to better growth. The sifting of promising employees will be more strict. And this may affect the businesses' earning reports.

Tencent: Estimated purchase rights ratio for QQ Music?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2018 08:14 AM PST

Just bought some Tencent stock. Any estimates how the ratio for the purchase rights of QQ Music will be?

Once had 4 stocks of a company and the rights where 5-1 which annoyed me a little and I sold my rights.

Now if the purchase rights ratio for QQ Music will be 10000-1 I'm gonne get a few stocks more.

    Legitimate education for trading career

    Posted: 09 Nov 2018 08:50 AM PST

I have a worthless BA and some military experience which has helped me next to none in my career/life. I have however made some decent financial decisions and would not mind starting to trade on a more full time basis. Are there any post-graduate or certificate programs I should look into? I know there are many scam courses out there and wanted to see if there was anything accredited I should look into.
