Sorry need to brag for a sec. So proud of myself. Posted: 11 Nov 2018 09:19 AM PST I moved to the sales department last year within a company I had worked another department for a while. It was one of the scariest decisions of my life. The base pay alone was a huge pay cut from my normal salary but with commission would have the potential to make double what I was making. I'm 25 with no sales experience in either education or work. The sales director gave me a shot but warned me that every prior person that came over from another department thought they could sell because they knew the product but ultimately failed in selling it. Well, I'm super proud of myself because I've beaten the odds and done exceptionally. This is my first full year in sales. I'm number one in the company in new revenue and # of deals. Also #2 in overall revenue (new sales and dollars from existing clients, #1 is a guy who inherited 15 years of accounts from someone who quit.) I just had my best month ever and have already beaten my entire 4th quarter last year. I hope I don't sound arrogant because I don't brag about sales, especially to coworkers. But taking this position was a huge risk for me and I'm so happy with how I've done. It's changed my life! [link] [comments] |
What’s your Cold Calling Strategy? Posted: 11 Nov 2018 06:03 AM PST Are you the type of person that calls everyone you can or do you target certain individuals? If you don't do either, then what do you do? [link] [comments] |

Option to run temp staffing / Should I take it? Posted: 11 Nov 2018 12:08 PM PST I was recently offered a position to run and start up a temp staffing agency focusing on industrial trade (starting with electrical). The company starting it is able to bankroll the process but has very limited knowledge on temp staffing. I myself have sales experience, most recently in merchant services. I manage an office of about 20 employees for several years now and have been quite successful. I'm trying to do some research on the temp staffing industry to see if this would be a good career move or not as I know quite little about temp staffing. I am hoping for advice in terms of what are going to be the most difficult hurdles to overcome and and tips (if I do choose to take to position) for someone new in the field. I appreciate any guidance with this! [link] [comments] |

Do you ever have a fear: What if youre not good enough? Posted: 11 Nov 2018 12:08 AM PST Im someone looking to get into b2b sales, specific towards software (or maybe medical sales) Ive got a pretty technical background but no sales experience (Yes I know I suck) , my technical background being my engineering degree (s) and spending quite a bit of time in medical school. At the same time some of the fundamentals are not new to me. Ive cold called startups (and in some cases emailed) startups in large volumes trying to find engineering jobs. Ive come up with some small business plans for my side projects before, but again this is largely out of personal interest. Heres where my question comes in: I fear what if Im not good enough? Is there a forumula to sales? - Where if you put in the effort, act like a respectable human being, and utilize a level of intelligence to connect to clients, you can make sales? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Nov 2018 02:48 AM PST For those in enterprise sales, how much downtime at work do you have? Say you want to pursue a hobby, or learn a skill, do you find it difficult to incorporate that into your routine? [link] [comments] |
New job ideas. working in Europe. sales. speaking only English Posted: 11 Nov 2018 02:42 AM PST i've been working in travel sales for 6 years now. i work from home selling customized itineraries to clients (mostly to Americans). our clients come to us, so it makes the process much easier. work consists mostly of calls and emails. i live over in Europe (work evenings) and i only speak English. i'm looking to get into some new sales position possibly. any ideas of what type of sales i could get into over here in Europe as an English speaker? I'm American by the way. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 10 Nov 2018 04:50 PM PST What's your collection term? I'm in industrial services sales, my customers are pressuring me for 45 day terms because their customers have extended their terms. I've verified that; my boss is all over me because he doesn't want to let go of our 30 day standard, we have 4 competitors, I'm afraid if we pinch their cash flow too much they'll switch. Thoughts? What's the actual material impact of a 15 day extension on DSO? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Nov 2018 07:42 PM PST Currently in specialty chem sales (first job out of college with a chem e degree) for a small regional company make ~60k base and then another 10-15k in sales mbos. Just got an offer for a job in commodity chem sales for 95k salary with a 0-14% performance bonus with no commission and significantly better benefits. My current job is low stress and easy hours (35-45), and Im trying to figure out if this job would be a similar gig or way more work? The title of the new job is account manager and it's in the oil and gas industry in Texas if that helps. I guess I'm trying to figure out if anyone has similar experience and knows what to expect [link] [comments] |
Pitch Critique? and How to Find Potential Clients ? Posted: 10 Nov 2018 07:17 PM PST I'm a young creative. I see a lot of issues with your Instagram account. There are lots of followers, which is a good thing. It means plenty of people know or want to know things about your company. However, the engagement is very low. A good engagement rate is about 1-5%. (100k followers & 1k likes = 1% engagement rate). Currently yours is sitting at around _%. High engagement posts can be a huge help to your business. Most would say that they're a necessary part in this era. They bring you new followers, and in turn new customers. They remind your old followers that you exist. They sell product directly. They create an emotional association in their minds with your brand and positive emotios, your Instagram becomes a place they want to be. I'm offering strategic control over your engagement. Giving your followers better reasons to follow you, and by doing so, giving them more opportunities to buy what you sell. I'd do this through various visually engaging posts with sharp CTAs, as well as meta growth(growth via growth) community action strategies to transform your Instagram from a predictable and easily overlooked mess to a content ensemble that's impossible not to be immersed in. And I'll funnel every ounce of this immersion into your sales channels with the least resistance possible. Reply to this message to discuss strategies and pricing options. How is this as a cold email pitch? Also, other than Instagram itself, how can I find a large group of clients to pitch to? [link] [comments] |
What exactly does Planview do? Posted: 10 Nov 2018 01:12 PM PST What exactly does Planciew's WRM (work resource management) do for businesses In other words can you briefly explain how it is beneficial for a business to have? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Who believes in the power of NLP language programing in Sales? Posted: 10 Nov 2018 12:56 PM PST Ran into a contact at one my public speaking talks and she was telling me about her NLP training. I have heard of NLP before and know that Tony Robbins was involved in that for a bit. The question, has anyone had success using NLP and where did you get your training from? [link] [comments] |
