GEICO policy cancelled because my wife drives Uber. Nobody in our household drives for Uber.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 08:02 PM PDT

Just got a notice in the mail from the DMV. After a 50 minute phone call, not only could Geico not find any proof of us driving for Uber, they said I need to go to Uber and get documentation that I don't drive for them. Then, a review process goes underway, within 72 hours and I'm not even guaranteed my policy back.

18 years with Geico and they falsely accuse me of this and immediately cancel my policy.

Rented car, got vandalized, realized that my credit card doesn't provide insurance

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 03:18 PM PDT

I'm currently in vacation in Hawaii, where I rented a car from Thrifty. Yesterday, as we were sleeping in a nearby National Park, the car had its fuel line cut and the gas tank siphoned off.

When I booked the car, I paid using a Canadian Visa credit card (the CIBC Visa Classic), which I was convinced had rental car insurance included as a policy. A quick call to the claims phone line revealed that this was unfortunately not the case. I guess that the card policy details pamphlet I was looking at was all this time was for a slightly different card.

I don't have a separate car insurance policy, as I do not own a car back home. I've rented cars multiple times before using that credit card, assuming that I had coverage. I've also never been involved in an accident or situation that forced me to deal with insurance claims. The only form of coverage I paid for when I booked the car is the LIS (which I guess stands for Liability Insurance Supplement).

Any recommendations as to what my options are? I'm looking for recommendations both for my current situation and looking at the future. While I probably still won't own a car for some time, I'm thinking of getting a general insurance policy for situations such as these.

As for my current situation, are there any recourses that I'm not aware of and that could help me avoid bearing the full cost of this act of vandalism, or at the very least make sure that the bill doesn't bloat too much?

    Thanks in advance

what kind of insurance would I need to start a first aid company?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2018 01:44 AM PDT

Hi, Im trying to start a first aid company that responds to first aid emergencies. This will be strictly first aid only - stuff that doesnt require a ambulance- things like cuts and bruises. The staff would be me and 2 other paramedics and we will take phone calls to determine if this is a first aid or if they need to go to the ER over the phone. If we have any doubt about what it is then we would defer to 911/ ambulance. one of my partners has been in the EMS field as either a EMT or Paramedic for 30 years and he is very much a expert. ( teach EMT classes at the local community college, Proctors tests for new Paramedics ect..) so Im not too worried about mistreating a patient. I just want to know what kind of insurance a company like ours would need to be legit. We will be offering our services to movie sets and any business that would rather have basic first aid stuff be handled by professionals without calling 911. I know I would need general liability insurance, but is there any other type that I would really like to get? Thanks

Moving temporarily and would like to avoid registering my car twice

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 11:34 AM PDT

I just moved from MN to PA at the beginning of October to help out family and will be moving back to MN in the summer of 2019. I updated my address with my car insurance (Geico) and found that the insurance in PA is going to be about $60 cheaper per month. If I fail to update my license, title, and registration, is my insurance going to be cancelled? In the event of an accident, is insurance still going to cover me? And when I go back to MN, would I be allowed to keep my current license, registration, and title, or I would still have to renew everything again anyway? And if it's the case that I can't avoid putting out for 2 registrations and a state inspection, is there anything at all I can do to cut down on any of it?

    Insurance question

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 06:53 PM PDT

Hi I'm in deep and have some questions hopefully you can at least enlighten me...I was in a car accident that was my fault. I was driving at night I thought I could make a left in in intersection but I severely misjudged the other vehicles speed...I now have my car totaled and will be receiving no help from my insurance as it was the legal minimum to drive and it wasn't in my name I was temporarily borrowing a car my friend didn't need...now I am paying him back but that's another story...the car I drove was totaled but the other guy somehow managed to just dent up his left front bumper and headlight...I heard I may have to pay for the damages to his vehicle and I literally cannot afford that without becoming like actually homeless is there anything I can do at all?

Can an adult friend buy insurance for his car with only a permit? (For practicing purposes)

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 10:20 PM PDT

Hey /r/insurance, I'm a 24 year old license driver (since age 18) and I have a new housemate from Nigeria. He's older than me and has been driving (and licensed) in Nigeria for several years prior to moving here. We're in Saint Joseph County Indiana.

He recently bought a cheap used car, and took the Indiana written test to get his permit. He wants me to help him prepare for the physical driving test and accompany him to the test (Indiana requires a licensed driver to be with you), but I'm not sure how the insurance works for this.

He recently purchased an inexpensive used sedan. Can we use his car for practice? Can he get insurance as a non us citizen with only a permit?

Is there an insurance issue for letting him drive my car? If not, if there is a collision while he is driving will this impact my rates? My current car insurance is based in Onondaga county NY (still on parent's plan as a grad student) if that changes anything.

My concern is that, as nice as he seems I've only known him for a short while. I also know that driving in the developing world is much more hectic than here, so I think that the risk of collision is higher than I'd like while I'm teaching him. So I'd prefer we use his car if possible.

I've tried googling around, but most of the answers regard parents covering their child's driving practice. This is a bit different with his age and his car.

    Thanks! :)

I was in an accident where the other party was at fault. I was injured and I want to make sure I am taking the right steps.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 12:55 PM PDT

I drive my parent's car and my parents pay for the insurance.

Two weeks ago, I was rear ended by someone while I was stopped at a red light. We filed a police report as the officer witnessed the accident. The other party was completely at fault.

My parents told me not to call their insurance because it was not necessary and they didn't want their rates to go up. I called the other party's insurance and a claim was already filed.

My car had some damage, but it was still drive-able. The thing is: I felt quite bad after the accident, so I went to urgent care after and had some x-rays done. The doctor said I had severe whiplash and prescribed me medicine. After a week, I was still in a lot of pain and, at my follow up, I was prescribed more medicine, a soft collar, and physical therapy. It has been an impediment upon my life — it makes working and studying hard for me because they are literally a pain in my neck.

I have been paying my copays myself, but I think that with physical therapy several times a week they may become difficult to manage. Is there any way to get some more immediate compensation of these bills?

The insurance company sent an appraiser to assess the car. They sent me a cheque for the damages. With the cheque came a letter with some forms, including a medical history authorization form and personal wage information form.

The medical history authorization form is asking me to authorize my entire medical history. I don't understand why my entire medical history is relevant and I don't necessarily feel comfortable sharing it. Do I have to sign this form? Can I call the agent and have them amend the form to inquire only the day of my accident (or slightly before) and onward?

My coworkers at work said I should start talking to a lawyer, but my parents said that it's stupid and I should handle it myself — though they do not want to be involved in the process.

I haven't done anything yet. I haven't signed anything or cashed any cheques. I'm not sure how to proceed and my parents are not a supportive resource for me.

TL;DR: Rear ended at a red light. I am suffering from severe whiplash and have been prescribed physical therapy. How do I deal with the personal injury insurance claim?

    Should I hire an attorney?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 07:04 PM PDT

Hello, My father is an Uber driver. He had to take someone from Columbus, OH to West Virginia. After he dropped the person off and was on the way back to Columbus, he hit a deer and the damage was bad, but the car was somewhat driveable so he drove back home. The next morning, we called the insurance company to make the claim. We have comprehensive insurance which is the insurance you need if you hit a deer, so we knew we would be covered. We called the insurance company and opened a claim for the incident. About a week later, someone from the insurance came down to see if the car was totaled or not. He ended up deciding that the car was totaled and we would get paid however much the car was worth. After they decided the car was totaled, the company began to avoid our calls and take time to call us back. After another almost 2 weeks they told us that Uber should be handling my claim, not the insurance because they thought my dad was driving for Uber while he had the accident, but this was not the case. Uber contacted me to ask if they should be handling the claim or not. They realized that he was not online on the app when it happened so they do not need to handle the claim, the insurance company does. My insurance company kept going back and forth with Uber conflicted over who should handle the claim. My insurance company asked us to prove that he dropped the person off safely and ended the trip before the accident happened. I proved this information to them by giving them my dad's Uber history. Now, the insurance company is saying that in a recording they had, we stated that the accident occurred at 3:30 which is when he was still with the passenger, which is not the case. I know we never said 3:30, but they are saying they have the recording in a CD which they will mail to us. They will not tell me how long it will take for me to receive the CD, nor will they give me any tracking information or allow me to access the recording digitally. At this point, it has been over one month since the incident happened and we have not gotten anywhere with my insurance company. They are not cooperating and it does not seem like they will. No matter what we try, they keep blaming me or keep saying Uber needs to handle this even after proving that they don't. Now, my question is should we hire an attorney to deal with this case or should I wait to get the recordings even though it does not seem like they will be cooperating and sending it soon, seems like either they are trying to waste as much time as possible or they don't want to pay us at all. Please give some suggestions as to what we should do as this is our first time dealing with something like this. Thank you

Please help me understand what this denial of dental services means?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 07:02 PM PDT

If this is the wrong sub, my apologies - please direct me to the appropriate one and I'll delete this!

I received a letter in the mail today by my insurance (Horizon NJ Health) saying that my "request for D7220 services were denied". I didn't know what that service is for but a quick google search said that it's for a soft tissue tooth extraction. I'm really confused because the letter doesn't say much more about this denial or what the service was for anyway (wouldn't have known had I not google it) except that I can submit a claim to appeal this decision.

I had a tooth extraction done back in August for a supernumerary tooth that was causing issues for me, which I had authorization from my insurance for and my dentist claimed as necessary. When I came for a checkup, they mentioned something about submitting a claim for a scaling and planing procedure, and also to get my wisdom teeth removed (all 4 are impacted and impossible to clean due to how they're positioned and the size of my jaw). My question is, was this letter referring back to the supernumerary extraction I had back in August, the potential wisdom extractions, or the the scaling and planing (and if so, why the codes aren't matching up)?

I plan on going to my dentist's office this weekend and trying to get to the bottom of this, but I just want to be able to wrap my head around what this initial claim was for to begin with. If it was the tooth extraction already done, would I have to retroactively pay a bill (none was determined in the letter) even though I had authorization for it back then?

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question or it makes no sense, I still don't have a good grasp of insurance in general, and this letter is throwing off my 23 year old mind.

    Crooked Insurance Co.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 06:06 PM PDT

Awhile ago I posted about what I believed was discriminatory Life Insurance. This is a follow up and where I stand now. Looking for any advice and additional talking points before I contact my states Dept. of Insurance.

-Applied for 20 PAY life policy. Answered everything accurately and honestly. Policy was granted and put in place. Was told the policy could be surrendered down the line for cash value, this was a big selling point for me.

-Had a child about 7 months later and applied for a 20 TERM LIFE, again answered everything honestly. I had heart surgery at birth (28 years ago) and they requested access to my history. It was granted, my bill of health is clean and I outperform the majority by far. They grant me the policy at a table rating of 12, I turn this down due to cost.

-They then decide to change my current policy and hit me with a 50% hike and the option to "Reform or Rescind" YET when I ask how can they do this they simply IGNORE my solid questions and keep telling me to "Reform or Rescind".

-I am not willing to pay a 50% increase so after months of being jerked around without answers I surrender the policy, under the impression I get my money back.

-Receive a letter without any contact information telling me I have "no cash surrender value". Now I'm incredibly pissed because my agent did a piss poor job on representing me AND explaining to me the full extent of cash surrender.

-I've been forced out of my policy without explanation and bullied out of almost a years worth of payments that I was told would be available cash surrender, my agent is still pushing for answers but I won't hold my breath.

Thanks in advanced to Anyone who reads this and can contribute as I move forward. I've got new life insurance for a great price now but I'm not the type to have my wheaties pissed in and let it go.

Life Insurance/ Critical Illness Insurance / Short Term Disability Insurance

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 07:55 AM PDT

Husband (late 20s) and I had a little wake up call last month in the form of a health scare.

The short of it is-- I believe that we are well insured for me through my employer (federal-- but anyone familiar with that and sees a gap in coverage, I'd be open to hear it) but don't have much for him. On top of it, his career and skill set are physical in nature (mechanic) and our current finances are such that we/I could not afford to live on only my salary. We didn't take care of this earlier because on the life insurance front, we were waiting for him to naturalize to be eligible to join WEAPA on his own (they require US citizenship) but now that's likely off the table as their underwriting is very strict and on the short term disability front, I have simply never understood the whats and hows.

I just have no idea what to prioritize here or what is actually needed. Between the life insurance policy offered by his current employer, and me able to add him as a covered dependent by mine, we've got ~1 year of his salary in life insurance and that's it. Barely any paid sick leave, forget serious illness or injury/ disability. As he's not yet a US citizen, many (not all) of the federal safety nets are not available to him, or can cause him to be ineligible to naturalize if he does use them.

The goal for critical illness/ short term disability would be to replace his salary during the period of time he cannot work. Help with health insurance/ deductibles would be welcome but not critical (we've got good health insurance and an emergency fund). The goal for life insurance would be to pay off debt (~$25k, most of that is a car loan) and replace his income for at least a year. We're close but not quite there on what we've got. Then, if possible, I'd like to get at least $25k to his mother in his country, but the more the better on that front.

Putting aside underwriting for a moment (which thanks to the health scare would be a serious concern), would it make sense to get all three of these? What really is the difference between critical illness and short term disability (if the person temporarily cannot work because of cancer, stroke, heart attack)?

Considering underwriting, if he's considered too high of a risk, does that risk decline with time assuming that there is not a repeat? Is there a plan for any/all of these that does not require health history/ exam (I've seen commercials but they seem... sketchy and also for the 50+ set). Are we completely SOL here until/ unless he gets a job with group insurance?

What makes for a successful producer?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 05:18 PM PDT

Okay first off sorry for lousy formatting, on mobile.

So, I am a new college grad. And have found myself my first job as a commercial lines producer at an independent agency in Illinois. I am closing in on three months of work and it has been stressful to say the least.

All growing up I never really stressed out, exams, homework, anything really wouldn't get to me to badly. This new job though has been extremely stressful. Everyone I talk to says I just need to stick it out and it gets easier, and I have already decided there is no chance I quit. And right now I have producer goals set up for me by my agency that seem so unobtainable at this point.

For this month of October, I am expected to have $30k of sales by the end of the month, I am going to come up very short. I do not have a strong book of business yet and not many personal contacts to reach out to that own businesses.

Now, I have to assume producers use this subreddit, otherwise the 1 rule it has wouldn't matter. So for all producers and agency owners, what are some realistic goals I can set for myself, is the $30k in my 3rd month high or am I just not producing at the level I should be? What are some things you wish you knew when you first started out? Do you have any general advice you'd like to share with a new producer?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

2 Accidents, 1 week Apart, Not at fault for one.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 04:32 PM PDT

I was in two accidents, both exactly 1 week apart on Saturdays. First one(13th)was rather serious, airbags deployed. Guy ran stop sign and was fully at fault. He didn't have insurance so by law my insurance company(Geico) is picking up the tab for my most likely totaled car. NJ is a No Fault State.

Second accident(20th) was minor, in a new (to me) car which I took ownership on that Monday. Some buffoon parked a large suv in the corner of a stop sign, I crawled forward to see if there was traffic coming and had my front bumper ripped off and headlight damaged, other car has scrapes and dents on the two right side doors. No Airbags deployed. We decided not to call the authority and fix the cars under the table. I payed 3000 cash to fix my car, now I'm stuck whether to have the man's SUV repaired by my insurance company, or should I pay to fix myself? The guy wants two new doors which both go for around $1000 at a junkyard.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can I appeal a claim with another party’s insurance company?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 10:32 AM PDT

A driver pulled out in front of me in heavy traffic. I couldn't see her because there was a large pickup driving the other direction (she made a left into traffic). It was an older driver and I was actually going slightly below the speed limit. I steered towards the shoulder to try to miss the collision and hit the corner of her tail light.

I was told before to make a claim in cases like this with the other party's insurance company so that I can keep my insurance unaffected (in the past I've done this with people who have rear ended me and it's been pretty straightforward). My car is still drivable. Well this time the other driver's insurance said she said that she was already driving and I rear ended her so they denied the claim. I have dash cam footage of the incident and what happened. Can I appeal their decision and somehow submit the footage? Does it depend on the company or state?

Dealing with the other party's insurance after a collision in which I was injured.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 04:01 PM PDT

Hello, I've tried to read over a few of the more popular threads here to get a feel for the questions that will be answered as this seems to be a popular topic. I really appreciate the members here in helping other redditors during a very hectic part of their lives.

Last week I was hit by a semi-truck being driven for a major trucking line, after I was hit by that truck I hit another vehicle. This occurred on a Southern California freeway and was responded to by the CHP who filled out a report. I got the report today and it put the liability on the other driver. My insurance arranged for a rental while my car was evaluated, after which it was determined to be a total loss ($14K) so I have to go buy another car.

    Medical

As a result of the accident I ended up being taken by ambulance to a local hospital's ER, where I took a bunch of x-rays. Treated for a soft tissue injury and released. A few days later I ended up back in urgent care as the pain was unbearable, more X-rays were taken and I was given more pain meds and sent home. At their advice I talked to my Primary Care Physician today who said take more anti-inflammatories and rest, If i don't get better in a couple of weeks then we need to look deeper. It sucks, I'm physically limited and it's hard to sleep.

When they called to introduce themselves they sent over a Medical Release form that is insanely vague and seems to give them and their partners access to my whole life's history. Should I sign this? Is there a way to get a limitation on it?

    Financial

Due to the accident I'm now out a car but I did get money from my insurance for the value . So now I have to go find a car and being out and about hurts.

I also had to use PTO and miss work, the PTO does not accrue quickly so I just burned up quite a bit and am not happy about it . We'll value it at about $1700 (hours x wages)

I've payed about $95 dollars in Copays with $250 about to billed to me, and a $3200 ambulance bill that showed up very quickly. My insurance is of course interested in finding someone else to foot the $6K in bills so far without including the ambulance ride.

Do you guys have any advice for me in dealing with their insurance adjuster? I understand their role is to protect their company as a cheaply as possible and it's business and not personal. I would like to be reimbursed for my lost PTO and what I've paid for treatment so far as well as not pay for the rest. All the advice from friends and family is call PI Attorneys but reading over a lot of posts there's a lot of varied opinions about their fees vs a reasonable settlement. What would be a reasonable settlement if offered one?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

    Gadget insurance

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 04:01 PM PDT

When I signed up for my uni accommodation it came with insurance, and I'm topping it up to include accidental damage. There's a clause that says it doesn't cover gadgets more than 3 years old and I'm wondering how that is applied. I signed for the accommodation and therefore the insurance prior to the 3 year mark on my Macbook and I'm just over it now that I'm increasing it. (3 years two months) So will I be covered or not?

I was involved in three accidents in the past two years, but when I got an auto quote from an Allstate agent, nothing showed up on my motor vehicle record. How to proceed?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 08:28 AM PDT

    I live in North Carolina.

I was involved in three minor accidents in the over the past two years, and I've been paying my dues with higher insurance rates.

This morning, I got a sales email from Allstate auto insurance claiming they could get me a cheaper rate. I went on their website to enter my information in per usual, and surprisingly, I got a drastically lower rate, even with lower deductibles and my accidents.

I called a local agent at Allstate to verify the quote, and she did verified it, but oddly the three accidents I was involved in did not show up when she ran my drivers license and motor vehicle record. These accidents were reported to the police, so I'm not sure why they wouldn't show up?

I told the agent to email me the quote, and made it very clear about the three accidents I was involved in (and to include this fact in the quote for my records), but she was adamant that my driving record was coming up clean.

Are there any downsides to accepting this quote? If I do, and they somehow see these accidents later on, will this come back to bite me in the butt? I want to make sure I'm protecting myself from getting into any legal trouble.

Should I keep my whole life insurance

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 12:14 PM PDT

I got convinced to buy whole life insurance for a 25 year term. My annual premium is about $2,800. This policy is probably 3 years old now and I am 26. I've read up some places that whole life insurance is pretty much a scam, and now I feel sort of bad about having it. What are my options?

Going from Major Insurance -> Short Term Insurance -> Major Insurance with pre-existing conditions

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 03:53 PM PDT

Since my wife does have some pre-existing conditions and injuries, and short term insurance doesn't cover these, will we have problems with them when we get real insurance again? Is there anything else I'm not thinking of that should sway me towards the COBRA?

Obviously, there are the risks of something happening in the next month or so before I get better insurance, and I'm aware of the ACA. If we somehow didn't get insurance before 2019 we'd owe a penalty that is less than the cost of one month of COBRA.

The difference between COBRA and short-term coverage could be $800 / month, which is huge for us right now.

Thanks for any insights you can provide!

    Details:

I recently lost my job and therefore medical insurance. We can do COBRA, but the cost is $1100 / month, which would pretty much all go on credit cards, and isn't very good (sky-high deductible with a mostly used up HSA). I'd also have to pay for all of October and November soon, which would be a big hit to our bank account.

My wife has a few conditions and injuries that could be considered pre-existing (gastritis, allergies, knee and back problems, potentially Lyme), but nothing is being treated other than via a couple prescriptions that could be replaced with OTC. Birth control pills are the biggest expected expense.

I'm very healthy. My 2 toddlers are in perfect health, stay at home all the time, and almost never get sick or injured. We have no doctor visits scheduled for the rest of the year.

I expect I'll either have a job, or be making enough money from consulting in the next 2 months to get a real plan, so am considering getting short term coverage to hold us over and cover any catastrophic issues. It looks like it will cost between $250 and $450 / month.

Not sure where to go (medical billing)- sort of an insurance issue?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 03:39 PM PDT

I'm having a problem with a local health system continuing to bill me for service that should be covered by my secondary insurance. However, they have refused to submit to my secondary insurance because they claim they're missing the denial EOB. The same one I've submitted 15 times (literally). (The claim is now 10 months old, and cannot be submitted- all options have been explored and exhausted.) Not only has this EOB never been acknowledged as received, I've followed up on this claim by phone and eventually the health systems patient messaging system when I realized that they weren't logging my calls/inquiries, etc.

I understand they need the EOB. Which is why I've provided it via postal mail and fax (as requested) 15 times. Their incompetence and/or inability to do their part does not make me responsible for this bill. It would have been paid in full by my secondary insurance if it had ever been received.

In reviewing things more carefully, I realize they did the same thing with my other bill (never submitted it to secondary), but I wasn't smart enough to read the details before I paid. That's on me.

I am continuing to fight this and I want to file a formal complaint against the healthy system's billing department, but does anyone have any idea who handles that? It's not the Department of Insurance, like I thought. Is there a governing body for the handling of medical billing?

Thanks in advance for any direction you can provide.

    Car totaled

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 02:54 PM PDT

Background: About a month ago my bmw was parked and someone crashed into the side of it. Damage wasn't too bad but being an 18 year old 323 ci of course the repairs are always expensive. Thanks goodness she left a note.

Originally they offered an amount that I knew wasn't enough so I took it to a body shop where they confirmed that. Today her insurance company contacted me and said it was totaled and I was wondering what are the laws regarding this, what do they legally have to do and what should i do. Any help is appreciated.

    Helping my mom

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 02:40 PM PDT

My mom's toilet backed up and flooded her home with sewage. State farm sent an abatement guy who assessed everything and submitted a report. State farm took his report, came out to assess themselves, and said that not everything in his report is the result of this instance, we won't cover it all. My mom said whatever, talk to the guy and tell him what to demo so I can move back in to my house. Well they didn't tell that guy what not to do and when the guy learned that my mom had moved into the hotel for the prescheculed demo start date to begin he did everything in his report. State farm then tried to tell my mom that they won't cover it, asked her if she'd authorized it, and said she'll be out of pocket to repair anything outside what they'll cover. I called to talk to them (she's 70 and this is all incredibly stressful for her, she has no money), and her agent told me that the agent spoke to the abatement guy and he agreed that he would cover the areas they won't but that my mom needs to work him him to do those pieces of it. But I'm concerned because in order for her house to be considered habitable she needs a toilet (they authorized the removal and reinstall) but before the toilet goes in she needs new bathroom flooring (which was ripped out by abatement man, and they won't cover it). This is a tangled mess and I don't understand why my 70 year old mother is in charge of untangling it rather than the insurance company that she pays for; why shouldn't they have to work with that guy to figure it all out instead?

Am I in the wrong? Is it her responsibility? Or should I speak to a manager and fight harder?

    Homeowners while building an addition

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 01:32 PM PDT

I am preparing to do a large addition (going from 1600 square feet to 3700 square feet) and using a construction loan to cover the costs. My insurance company won't cover the new value of the loan ($1.08M) until the construction is finished, but the bank wants to see an insurance policy covering the full loan amount before they'll close on the loan. I've called several insurance agencies and none of them will provide me with the insurance the bank is asking for. How am I supposed to be doing this?

    I'm in Massachusetts.
