    Anyone on POSCO? $PKX

    Posted: 04 May 2018 02:00 PM PDT

I feel like POSCO could be a good investment. They have a 41 percent market share in their primary revenue market, South Korea, and steel is a pretty capital and human intensive business, which provide high barriers to entry. Returns a little above average for typical steel company, their CROIC is 8%, still not great though. Management seems pretty ethical and trustworthy management. Market cap goes at about .60 of bv of Equity, net tangible book value around that. Enterprise value/FCF goes at about 10. Thesis: POSCO is a company with a wide economic moat due to their technologically advanced and superior steel facilities and their large market share in a high barrier industry. A current investment would also possess a margin of safety, due to present value of free cash flows and a discount to tangible book value.

    My portfolio so far

    Posted: 04 May 2018 10:47 AM PDT

Hey, I'm 25 years old and I'm just trying to make so extra income. Usually I select the companies through research and past eps and sales. I really kicked off my time in the market back in March.

    Portfolio value: 1115

    MRK (2) MSFT(1.75) BABA(1.75) ABBV(1.25) AOBC(1) PFE(1) BAC(1) CSCO(.5) MU(.5)

I was thinking of expanding a little more by going into companies that may have a little less risk, dividends being a bonus, but I don't know where to start really looking.

    Abbv “Dutch offering”

    Posted: 04 May 2018 01:29 PM PDT

Can someone please explain this shit? When the news first came out this week the stock popped almost 7%. I was thinking it would keep running with how much buying there was combined with how oversold it was. However now I'm scratching my head because it's been selling non stop from 104 back down to below 99 at one point...even today when the market was up 400pts abbv was flat or red. Is this Dutch auction just bullshit or what? I have may 18 calls that I guess will just expire worthless

    Dividend Question

    Posted: 04 May 2018 01:25 PM PDT

I'm sure this is naive, so apologies in advance. But what is to stop me from making a killing doing the following:

Day 1: Buy shares in company 1, whose in-dividend date is day 1.

Day 2: Sell my shares in the company 1 and buy shares in company 2, whose in-dividend date is day 2.

    Day 3. Sell my shares in the company 2 . . .

It seems like this would result in a significant, guaranteed return over a long period of time. Yet I'm sure that free money isn't this easy to come by.

    Thanks advance for your comments.

$PTLA up 20% after approval of reversal agent for factor Xa inhibitors

    Posted: 04 May 2018 08:43 AM PDT

Pharmaceutical company that specializes in hematologic drugs and that also has a cancer drug in the pipeline. Andexanet Alfa finally got approved yesterday after being delayed multiple times. Hopefully the gain lasts, but their earnings report is next week and I feel like it isn't going to be great.

I just got into investing two months ago right before the great 2018 trade war dip with this stock and some ETFs, so it's nice to finally be in the green.

Best questions to evaluate a fund manager?

    Posted: 04 May 2018 10:43 AM PDT

    Good evening everyone,

Hope you've all had a great day. I'm currently researching the top 10 best questions to evaluate Fund Managers. What top 3 questions would you ask? How do you know if the Fund manager is lying or exaggerating?

    Thanks and all the best,

I'm newish to equity trading and I have held a particular share for a while. It's a leveraged 3x SPX ETF. $SPXL I understand that the leverage decays over time but is it a hold?

Thor Industries: What am I missing? P/E 10, growing earnings at 20+ and down 38% from High.

    Posted: 04 May 2018 07:18 AM PDT

I have had Thor Industries on one of my screeners for a while and always kicked myself for never looking at it in more detail. Seems like a relatively straight forward businesses, selling RV and related equipment. They dont hold conference calls and the analysts covering the stock are from mostly small brokers (no BB). Seems like they missed last quarter but still expected to hit $10-11 in EPS in the near future. Anyone know this company well?

Those who are long Tesla, are you at all worried about Elon Musk after the most recent earnings call?

    Posted: 04 May 2018 07:17 AM PDT

There is no doubt that Elon Musk is a brilliant guy, but as the face of Tesla he has made questionable comments that have swung the stock. The most recent earnings call highlighted this when he dismissed two questions from analysts highlights this. No only that, but his follow up comments on twitter noting that he dismissed these questions because the analysts are short sellers feels somewhat concerning. Short sellers are a part of the market, like it or not and prevent company valuations from running out of control. Additionally, the questions they asked were legitimate so dismissing them made no sense.

I'm just curious to hear the opinions of those that believe long term in Tesla.

Blue Apron (APRN) up another 10% today

    Posted: 04 May 2018 07:14 AM PDT

    Announced buy at $2.14 yesterday.

They got an upgrade from Citibank today to $2.50 from $2.25. Two price downgrades from others but the downgrades are to a price 50% higher than today's price.

With a 37% short interest this thing should squeeze to 2.90-$3.00 easily in my opinion

Shouldn't be a drip of bad news for three months, with lots of potential for positive anouncements

Still don't love the business long term but this quarters earnings showed they are clearly on the right track

Portfolio with stocks above inflation and no drawdowns?

    Posted: 04 May 2018 06:07 AM PDT

    Hi there,

What would you put in a portfolio, whose goal is, - no drawdowns, - income above current inflation (2.4% currently and growing).

If you take just the 1st condition, then it is t-bills and alike ETFs. But with the 2nd condition?

    CAH down 20%, thoughts?

    Posted: 03 May 2018 10:18 PM PDT

CAH down 20%. Literally scouted the web looking for an explanation, guidance downed 8~10% due to underperforming business unit (Cordis acquired from J&J in 2015).

However, rev growth beat expectation. Still not enough to explain the huge plunge today. Did I miss something? What do you think??

Thoughts on the recent dip? I was waiting to throw some more cash at 300 but it seems to have leveled out. This price point feels like a no brainer with the spending bill coming into the sector. Thanks for your responses!

    When is your “future”?

    Posted: 03 May 2018 11:22 PM PDT

I think this is a very relevant topic nowadays especially when volatility has been quite theme. Justifying equity price by future cash flow, one obvious essential component is time (n of year). However, my hypothesis is that many traders (and investors) have difference future horizon - which impact valuation greatly.

I just want to do a quick survey: How many years from now is your future?

    $TTWO vs. $ATVI

    Posted: 04 May 2018 04:35 AM PDT

    Which has higher upside?

I think $TTWO is more of a one trick pony compared to $ATVIs massive gaming portfolio but to be honest I don't know much about their games. It seems take two have 3 major franchises: GTA, NBA2k and RDR. I know they sell well but are they enough to grow the company that much more? (Take two is up like 10x in the past 5 years).
