Renewable energy stock worth checking? Posted: 04 May 2018 10:14 AM PDT I've been looking for one for a while but looking multiple sources, they all dress different portrait and it's often quite negative. Maybe I'm not looking at the right place? Looking for a company that produces or invest in renewable energy source. It can be production of plant (wind turbine, solar pannel, etc.) or exploitation. Posted: 04 May 2018 09:46 AM PDT In the past days, Tesla experienced a sharp drop (8.7%). This is most likely due to Musk's behavior in an interview. Specifically, he did not answer critical questions asked by analysts, and Musk referred to them as "boring". He has since apologized for his actions, and TSLA is recovering, but will it ever be at the same point during its "prime time" last june? (around the 300's) [link] [comments] |

Low Volume ETFs and the road to recovery. Is it possible? Posted: 04 May 2018 05:33 PM PDT Hello all, so i'm holding very low volume ETFs that have taken a beating in the recent market. I'm wondering: Should I sell them and put them back into more high volume traded ETFs? How big of a role does volume play into recovery? Have you ever had an ETF liquidate? My current holdings, expense ratios, and loss%: -EMQQ: 0.86%, -12% Chinese tech ETF Avg Volume: 188,088 -EMDV: 0.60%,-9% Foreign financial/tech Avg Volume: 5,883 -FLQE: 0.55%, -9% Global Consumer Goods Avg Vol: 14,834 -DVEM: 0.32%, -6% Asia Semiconductors Avg Vol: 6,638 -GEM: 0.45%, -6%, Asia Tech Avg Vol: 130,098 Comparison: SPY Volume is 117,378,180 Thanks! Posted: 04 May 2018 01:25 PM PDT Any thoughts on SIRI? It's a sexy chart IMO, consistent gains with a few minor dips. [link] [comments] |
AIG, Robert E. Lighthizer, Made in China 2025, and the Semiconductors Bull Market Posted: 04 May 2018 01:10 PM PDT Artificial intelligence requires immense amounts of computing power. Computers are powered by semiconductors. China cannot risk its AI ambitions by being hostage to semiconductor companies that fall under the US sphere of influence. China, we believe, will pull out all the stops over the next decade to develop its local semiconductor industry manufacturing capabilities with an aim to end its reliance on US-based manufacturers by 2030. Investors often talk about the one dominant factor that drives a stock. While we consider capital markets to be more nuanced than that, if semiconductor stocks have a dominant factor it surely has to be supply – it certainly is not trailing price-to-earnings multiples as semiconductor stocks, such as Micron, have been known to crash when trading at very low trailing multiples. Chinese supply in semiconductors is coming. While we expect the bull market in tech stocks to re-establish itself sometime this year, if there was one area we would avoid it would be semiconductors.
