What are the economic benefits of investing in USB 3.0,USB-C hardware devices in the workplace?

Now that we are in the advent of standardizing USB 3.0/USB-C as the USB interface standard, would it be practical to invest in hardware containing this type of technology?

It's obvious that not all workplace technology should be upgraded, yet it still would be interesting to know the economic practicalities of investing in better USB hardware.

I mean think about it. It's astounding to realize that the maximum data transfer rates for modern USBs are 10x faster than the much loved USB 2.0.

I know that a lot of startups and big industries utilize/ switched to cloud-based software for data transport, storage, analytics, etc. but I still haven't heard about any significant cases in which a business heavily invested in modern USB technologies.

Any insight to give or articles to read about?

The next step. Am I missing something?

So, I'm, what, closing in on the one-year mark now, and I feel like the time might be right for me to consult with a community a bit different from the ones I would do in a normal setting.

In brief, our goal is to create a mathematical software which emulates most of the aspects of today's games. Together with the utilization of artificial intelligence and high academic and pedagogical level content, we are confident that we may bring something completely new to the table.

Today, our team consists of MBAs, teachers, and developers. All with the same vision: to convert the kids' passion and interest in games into a modern and fun way of learning.

The Norwegian government is striving to provide laptops or/and tablets for almost every student, creating a huge market potential for developers in forging great learning tools for school.

Based on our own experience as teachers, and, for some of us, as parents, we have seen why the current mathematics software come too short. Kids are not engaged, and national math surveys show that the kids' levels are too low, and this is consistent for the past years.

Letters of intent have been signed at various schools, and we have initiated dialogues with a major-league publisher, and with other small, but potentially strategic collaborates.

We recently received a $ 12 000 grant from one of the government's bodies. This is to be invested in an MVP, which then later is to be tested at various schools.

The MVP will be created based on initial meetings with the early adopting teachers. This will help us verify our ideas, and how we can best tailor our services to their very needs.

There is no getting away from the fact: we will need to have some financial aid when it comes to developing the complete software. But we are hoping that the MVP (which btw only will be a visualization of all the screens/layers/functions in the software) will generate more interests from school. Potentially more letters of intent, and that this eventually will spark someone's interests. Hopefully, a big publisher, since they already have their distribution channels established.

Looking forward to hearing some of your takes and/or tips!

    Cheers, K

    MVP Design tips?

    Posted: 05 May 2018 03:09 PM PDT

So, for background knowledge my startup I'm working on is in the beginning stages. I'm looking to create a good replica of the finished product as an early MVP. Most likely just to showcase the design and the functions of the finished product it's just for show and won't actually have any code or functionality yet.

I was thinking of either designing this showcase by hand with just HTML and CSS and putting images together, although since my app contains a map similar to the snap map with dots and icons on it. I'm afraid that putting images together will look bad.

So, if there are tools and applications that you guys like to use for your designs that you recommend, it would greatly be appreciated. Something that would cut my time down bootstrapping this by hand would be very helpful.
