- Weekly Macro Summary 4/29/18
- It seemed like a sure-fire bet: short the debt of a highly leveraged newspaper company that’s losing money. And for a while, it worked as investors piled up almost $500 million of wagers by buying credit-default swaps on the publisher, McClatchy Co.
- Looking for very specific type of podcast (books would be good as well) where hosts/guests go in-depth on specific deals.

Posted: 01 May 2018 09:25 AM PDT I've searched this sub and found a lot of good podcasts to add to my regular rotation. One thing I never really find addressed are the nitty gritty details with regards to getting a deal done. I recently listened to How I Built This w/ Daymond John and while he tells the story of FUBU it really doesn't go into details of how he structured his company, how his negotiations with Samsung went, how valuations were performed etc. I learn a ton about business and finance right now just from listening to my boss and others as they discuss current deals and past experiences but they get pretty detailed as they discuss the multitude of financing options and business structures for how they plan to create, acquire, grow, sell different businesses. Is there a podcast that gets more detailed on specifics of how a deal gets put together? [link] [comments] | ||
