Legal definition of "companion company"? Posted: 01 May 2018 04:30 PM PDT Hi all. I'm a law student, so I apologize if this isn't the right business subreddit for this question. I've browsed the usual legal research sites, but I haven't found anything and figured you all might be the people to ask. Essentially, I'm looking for a legal/"official" definition of the term "companion company." It's mentioned in some of the cases I've been reading for a corporate-oriented class, and I could come up with a common-sense definition, but surely there's some more precise definition out there. I was wondering if anyone here could refer me to a resource that specifies, legally, what makes something a "companion company" (as opposed to a sister company, if there's any difference). For context, I have no background in corporate stuff. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
