I paid for an LLC expense on my personal bank account. How to fix? Posted: 10 Mar 2018 05:23 PM PST I paid for an LLC expense on my personal bank account. Should I write out a check from the LLC to my personal account for the amount? If so, how should I label it? [link] [comments] |

Does anyone have experience with a 1-800-Got-Junk franchise? Posted: 10 Mar 2018 08:26 AM PST I've started looking into this and was wondering if anyone here has any insight? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Turn social media popularity intto money? Posted: 10 Mar 2018 08:53 AM PST I started a Facebook page several years ago and have now built up a large but modest following of 1.1 million followers. I average around 10-30k likes per post and have a reach of 5-10 millions people a week. I've never known how to make money from this though. Is it possible to monetise something like this? Any advice would be appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Looking for 0% intro, cash-back credit card for small business; recommendations? Posted: 10 Mar 2018 02:57 PM PST Starting a private practice in speech therapy. Initial spend will be $2,500-$3,500 within the first 2-3 months then up to ~$400-500 per month afterwords. Most will be spent on office equipment & supplies and online shopping with some transportation costs ongoing. In a rural area so no big box stores except Wal-mart. I'd like to keep a good cash flow to start so want a card with a 0% intro for the first 6+ months(the more the better) and a good cash back bonus, if possible. Should I only consider business cards or would a personal card work too? What are some good cards/the best card for this situation? Balance will be paid in full after intro. Just want a nicer cushion to start off well. [link] [comments] |
What is the best solution fie remote pc access and webinars? Posted: 10 Mar 2018 12:20 PM PST I do web development and some clients ask me to train them in basic WordPress functions. I wonder if anyone have experience with having remote access to clients desktop (for troubleshooting and showing them around) and recording the session so they can have future reference of the instructions. How are you dealing with Millennials? Posted: 11 Mar 2018 03:08 AM PDT I've just spent 3 days being as polite as I can via email to yet another Millennial who doesn't bother to read about the product they are looking to buy and then complaining because it's taking too long ... The real kicker in all this is that they even admit they are like this and seem to relish the labels.... From egos, to entitlement to laziness to being condescending to then turning nasty to anything deemed to be not in their realm of political correctness. To be honest I was just about to give them a product for free just to get rid of them. Then I thought the better of it. Instead I was just going to say it's "not available". As a small business owner how have you coped or how are you coping with Millennials because they are wrecking my head! [link] [comments] |
Pay-per-performance marketing? Posted: 10 Mar 2018 04:41 PM PST Hi, I'm posting on behalf of my father, who's not familiar with reddit. He owns a company that offers spam-filtering services for store chains, school districts, etc. It's been doing well for the past 15 years, but most of the new contracts were brought by word of mouth. And it has barely grown for the past ~5 years. He hired marketers in the past, but always had bad experiences with them. He's thinking of trying again, and is wondering if he should hire someone who he will pay with commissions only? He knows that he will probably have to pay him much more that way, but at least he's guaranteed not to waste money without returns. What do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Mar 2018 11:48 AM PST I've been thinking about how to start an actual business. In the sense of having a manufacturer, website, shipping. I want to start with simple things (t-shirts) and then expand my products (sweats, jeans, jackets, caps). Thanks in advance. Edit: Any advice? [link] [comments] |
How do you build startups involving software development? Posted: 10 Mar 2018 12:58 PM PST Hello, Most of my startup ideas involve software developing, for which i have no skills. How do you usually build your software idea? Do you first wait for investments and then hire developers? Do i need to learn software development for creating a landing page or an mvp product? I'm considering bespoke software development from teams like QwertyBit or Dclssoftware, but I'm not sure if it would be more profitable to learn coding for MVP products. [link] [comments] |
I'm thinking very seriously about getting into the landscaping curb business. Thoughts? Posted: 10 Mar 2018 10:24 AM PST I've been doing some research for a few days and this business seems pretty cool as a part time gig. I have a full time job four days a week so I would do this on my days off. I have landscaping experience and don't mind hard work. I have talked to my neighbors and multiple said they would be interested in the product. Here are a couple links from businesses that sell the business kits that show profit potential. Posted: 10 Mar 2018 09:23 AM PST Hello,
My dad's business has only just now started to make the leap into the digital world and I have slowly been increasing his online presence over the past 6 months (created a website, starting to get reviews, etc).
One thing that I am working on now is trying to update the way that his invoices are sent to customers. He currently uses Quickbooks to send customers a plain HTML text email with the customer's PDF invoice attached. This gets the job done, but it just isn't really that appealing.
I have designed email tempates in MailChimp and SendGrid that includes our logo, brand colors, and a button asking for feedback by linking to a SurveyMonkey URL. Everything is going smooth on this front. However, I want to include a "Download Your Invoice" link within the email that I would be able to go in and replace for each new customer.
MailChimp works for sending mass emails (should I purchase the MailChimp Mandrill plan for transactional emails?), and SendGrid doesn't appear to be able to host .pdf files for users to download. SendGrid has a partnership with Digioh for online hosting, but they only allow a certain number of PDFs to be hosted at a time. Also, I am trying to avoid sending the invoices as attachments since I want to minimize any chances of our invoices being flagged as spam.
Summary - What is a good email platform that will allow me to have: * customized email template * with the ability to change who I am sending the template to on an individual level * that will allow me to import a .pdf file and insert it as a link in my email template
Willing to look at paid plans for a reasonable price if they are able to get the job done. Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

Help! My father doesn't let the business grow.. Posted: 10 Mar 2018 09:17 AM PST My dad is an 81-year-old man who started a government civil contracting company some 42 years ago. He had no education and was essentially self-built. For the past 25 years, business has been pretty good, so the company did well. The past couple years and now, however, the market has tanked. The company always relied on the government releasing projects. With that market falling apart, the company is incapable of sourcing revenue from other lines of business. In addition, with the shrinkage in projects, much of the company's staff have left, leaving it with a bare-bones team. For the longest time, my father has groomed me to take over the business. After 8 years of working at other successful companies and getting an MBA, I see no business! More importantly, he has become very risk-averse and close-minded to exploring other business lines. My ideas to him are essentially dead on arrival. I am 50 years younger. What am I supposed to do? Quit on him and move on? Hang in there till the market recovers in a year or two, maybe? Milk as much of the company as is left, then move on with my life? I'm really confused and I'm already a few chapters into my professional career, and already feel a bit betrayed that my father didn't invest in the company when the times were good beyond dependency on gov't contracts. I think what's keeping me from moving on is that I would feel that I'm giving up, before it's actually all done and dusted. Please help with ideas...! [link] [comments] |
Looking for a SEO-digital marketing partner for new businesses. Posted: 09 Mar 2018 11:56 PM PST I own a licensed publishing services firm and publishing company. Its been a hobby but I want to expand it. https://www.vegaspulsepublishing.com/ - We just set up the site, put some content, and left it. We're not SEO or marketing experts but are aces in our services. I am planning on redoing the site on the platform Shopify and adding more content to it such as competitive price estimates of our services and pictures. I will also be opening up e-commerce stores in the future. I'm looking for a contractual, long-term partnership with someone well-versed with digital marketing and SEO who can keep it up-to-date and generate traffic and clients while we focus on fulfilling services and working with the clients. Send me a message with details and experience. Thank you [link] [comments] |
