I don't even know where to start. Is this a good deal?

As far as I can tell, the bulk of the premium comes from the $1M in Coverage L - Business Liability - Per Occurrence.

Overall, this policy is probably double what I was expecting to pay. Do very well known insurance companies ever highball by this much?

How much variance exists between quotes from reputable insurance companies?

No dmg car accident - questions

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 03:43 PM PST

Hi, my fiancee was just rear ended, but no visible damage to either cars. She got the persons name, number, and license plate, but this did not have their insurance information readily available (or didn't have any). She did not call the police.

Although no damage was done, she is worried that they will call the police or insurance company to try to blame her for the accident. Is there anything we can do at this point to protect ourselves? Should she report it to her insurance agency despite no damage?

    Thanks

    Auto Insurance Advice

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 11:08 PM PST

My fiancé and I plan to purchase a new car later today so I spent most of yesterday online and calling around for auto insurance quotes. I'm wanting to know if there are ways to get a lower month to month rate or 6 month premium.

We live in Mississippi. He's 22 years old (I've always heard insurance is more expensive for men) and I'm a 23 year old female. He's the money-maker & I'm a stay-at-home mom so I have no income at all. Neither of us have good credit so my father is going to cosign for us to get the car we like. From my understanding, the person whose name is on the car loan agreement (which would be my fiancé) would also have to be the insurance policy holder – which would make me just an insured driver.

My questions: 1. Is it true that he has to be the insurance policy holder too if his name is the only one on the car loan agreement (besides cosigner)? 2. Would it make sense for me to also have my name added to the car loan agreement even though I personally am not employed and have no income? 3. If it does make sense for me to be on the car loan agreement, would it be a better deal for me to have the insurance policy under my name?

*Feel free to share any information or knowledge that you feel would be helpful.

Bumper damaged by high parking post with depressions in road where front tires went. Geico claiming its at fault accident and increased my rate over 40%

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 08:41 PM PST

Its an 2016 Audi A6. I was parking in a lot which was dark front in and heard a sound from the front when the bumper bottom touch the parking post. When i was backing out to leave the bumper got pulled out from the bottom. Got the bumper fixed going through insurance. Recently got my renewal bill and rate went from 1600 to 2250 for 6 months. I called geico and they said they consider it a at fault accident and removes bunch of discounts i had for no claim/good driver etc. I feel this increase is really excessive considering the details of the damage. I tried getting quotes with other insurance companies and with this claim on the record they are coming back in this same ball park. The policy is for 3 cars .. 2010 Acura MDX, 2016 Audi A6 and 2017 Honda Accord.

Would appreciate any advice on where to get a better rate or how to dispute the determination of at fault for the bumper.

Had i known they would screw me so much on the renewal (and possible continuing renewals) i would have paid out of pocket for the repairs without getting insurance involved.

Got a speeding ticket while driving my girlfriends car. Who's insurance goes up?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 04:53 PM PST

My Agent Gave Me a Certificate to Sign...In Which I have not taken any classes yet...

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 06:18 AM PST

This could be nothing but just thought I ask someone about it.

My insurance agent put me down for a driver safety discount for which I have not taken the course yet. So she needed me to take the course asap. It's a 6hr course that gives me 10% for 3 years saves about $40 every 6 months. I'm thinking that it's not worth it to waste my time. So I asked her how much of a discount I would lose if I don't take it. She then responded with an attachment of a driver safety certificate and told me to sign it and return it to her. I feel like this is illegal or unethical behavior in some sense. I'm skeptical and needed some opinions on this. Thanks!

    Cheapest auto insurance?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 06:19 PM PST

I bought a 2014 Jeep Cherokee and was quoted on the dealer's lot $90 a month for full coverage. A few months later it moves up to $180 a month. I had an accident 3 years ago and one speeding ticket that was reduced to non-moving violation. Is this the cheapest insurance or should I try shopping around?

I want to purchase a car for someone else to help them get back on their feet. Can I maintain ownership? How do I insure it?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 01:30 PM PST

I want to help someone close get back on their feet by buying a car and letting them drive it and pay for fuel/insurance. This may evolve into them buying the car from me in the future when they can afford to. How do I go about insuring it? Do they get their own insurance or do I put them on my policy and have them pay me? Is this legal for me to do?

    3cars2drivers

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 12:44 PM PST

I know it depends on the coverage and the car, but as a general rule, if my wife and I add a third car to the policy, does it go up 50% because we will have 50% more cars on the policy, or is the change less pronounced because there will still only be 2 drivers? If we had two identical cars and added a third identical car with the same coverage, for example. (I'm asking because I'm considering getting a "winter car" later this year but we both like our daily drivers.)

How do I negotiate a Diminished Value Claim?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 09:17 AM PST

Hey all. I got rear-ended at a stop light a little bit ago. The person who hit my was at fault, I filed a diminished value claim and was not to happy with the numbers. The total to repair my car was ~$7000 the insurance company wanted to give me ~$400 for diminished value. I got the car appraised, and they came up with ~$1700 in DV. I sent their findings to the insurance company and they came back with ~$1000. How can I further negotiate to get closer to the 1700?
