Have I misread this? Can it be right? $PPHM to go to $10?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2017 08:33 AM PST

I know it might just be one opinion, but reading it... have I misread this?

Sell-side analyst recommendations point to a short term price target of $10 on the company shares.

    $ADKS: Autodesk

    Posted: 28 Nov 2017 11:06 AM PST

In case you are wondering what this stock is all about (with earnings coming up). It is a company that provides design software primarily for architects, engineering, construction, manufacturing & digital arts (3D modeling for movies and video games). Since 2016 they have been on a steady upward trend ($69 to $130). For many reasons... The biggest one being the switch from buying licenses to getting subscriptions. This has been a very successful model for companies to implement (i.e. Microsoft's Office Suite & Adobe's Creative Cloud Suite). This shift in model makes sure nobody holds on to dated licenses beyond expiry of support but rather are constantly paying on a month to month basis. Which in return is revitalizing revenue from consumers who already bought their products. Never mind the fact they basically have a monopoly (like adobe) @ the enterprise/business level.

The gaming industry has become massive and most major developers use game Autodesk's 3DS Max as one of their 3D modeling tools. The uptick and success of games is only further pushing this software's utilization. And real estate is always booming around the world & as long as that's the case.... Autodesk's software will be utilized by architects and engineers to design their blueprints and models.

I got a call expiring next year april with these guys and plan to hold through earnings.

Google Finance to merge with Google Search

    Posted: 28 Nov 2017 09:49 AM PST

Portfolios coming offline soon, including the ability to download them.

Google said search interest in finance and stocks have more than doubled in the last 5 years leading them to better integrate stocks and market news. The new site will provide recommendations and suggest stocks "to follow based on your interests, related news, market indices, and currencies." You'll also get notifications when there are any notable changes on those stocks.

    https://9to5google.com/2017/11/28/google-search-new-finance-tab/

I'm curious, I usually use Google Finance to start my research on stocks, and Google Sheets & WeBull to keep track of trades - what do you guys use?

Finally found a comfortable balance and confidence in my holdings

    Posted: 28 Nov 2017 08:54 AM PST

A bit of background, I'm a college student, with about 3K invested. I'm mostly long term, but do have a dedicated risk/shorter-term stock in there.

    Paypal: 28% long term

    Match: 22% Long term

    Sony: 20% Long

    Botz: 15% Long

CPRX: 13% (was less, but after gains it's gone up) Short term, PT of $5

I really like the futures and business models of all of these companies. Started out making some mistakes Cough DVAX/KEM Cough, and sold early on them.

Just curious what you guys think of these holdings.

Man, people were really high on this one a couple of weeks ago. Earnings must have been a dud. Buying opportunity? I don't see any horrible news in the headlines.

Thoughts on Scotts Miracle-Gro (NYSE: SMG)?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2017 09:11 AM PST

Hey all. Just wanted to know y'alls take on this company. I figure it's a good company, up 35% in the last year. So while also having a stable well established company, you can have an indirect play on the cannabis trend due to the supplies they offer for such operations. Thoughts? Criticism?

    Going long $LULU

    Posted: 28 Nov 2017 11:04 AM PST

I've had my eye on this one for a while. I took a sizable position in the stock a couple of months ago during a sell-off at $58 and ever since it's been rallying and today is around $67. They report earnings next week which I think could serve as a major catalyst to another leg up. Was hoping for a slight pullback going into earnings to present a more attractive buying opportunity, and that may happen, but I think it's just as likely that it trades up ahead of earnings so I decided to pull the trigger today.

So with that in mind I went for the March 18 $72.50 calls which I got at $3.00. I plan to hold these for 3-4 weeks regardless of what happens post earnings. If they do beat and the stock moves up significantly, I'll probably get out of these and move them up and out.

Quick summary of why I'm bullish:

    • Absolute category leader in athleisure, which pretty much every other apparel company is falling over themselves to get into
    • Profit per square foot in their stores rivaled only by Apple because of complete control over product and distribution. How many stores didn't run black friday deals this year? I can think of two- Apple and Lululemon
    • Increased spending across the board. In the past month we've seen retailer after retailer beat and raise and this has been particularly advantageous to high-end retailers like Apple, but also very good for self-controlled distribution apparel plays like $GPS (which I also played into last earnings and made out nicely on)
    • Huge growth in China, and I expect Potdevin to play this up a lot on the call

Ticker $RYB where will it go?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2017 10:32 AM PST

As a part of the Chinese IPO frenzy this stock was hovering at about ~$26 before falling to $16.50 recently. Today is back to 22... any thoughts on the short/long term future?

    SQ takes a dive - down 11%

    Posted: 27 Nov 2017 09:37 PM PST

So awhile back I bought into Square around $26 and ended up selling around $30 to make up for a loss in another stock (HMNY). It's been climbing ever since I sold and I've been kicking myself for the past 2 months. It's dropped to $40.79 as of the time of this post, and I was wondering; what's a good price to buy back in? I'm hesitant to buy back in at all to be completely honest, but was wondering what anyone else thought.

How will $SHOP be effected if Net Neutrality is overturned?

If NN is overturned it will be much harder for Small business run on Shopify to reach consumers. If his happens won't $SHOP shares plummet?

Question on gains/losses from selling individual shares.

    Posted: 28 Nov 2017 02:01 PM PST

Day 1: buy 5 shares at $10 Day 2: buy 5 shares at $15 Day 3: sell x shares at $20 My question is, which shares are considered the ones I'm selling on day 3? Is it the most recent shares I bought, or the oldest?

    Thoughts on $CEI?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2017 01:32 PM PST

So I've been holding a fair share of this company for a while now. I bought in at an average of .231 a share and it's currently at .17.

In the past week, two pieces of good news has come out but the stock still seems to fall. The first being they just got a million dollar investment (if I understand correctly?): https://www.streetinsider.com/SEC+Filings/Form+8-K+CAMBER+ENERGY%2C+INC.+For%3A+Nov+21/13540398.html

and reestablished 6 pumps in one of their fields: http://www.nasdaq.com/press-release/camber-energy-completes-coyle-field-workovers-and-updates-production-results-20171128-00390

They've also recently changed their management to somebody experienced in the field: https://ir.camber.energy/press-releases/detail/563/camber-energy-inc-ceo-letter-to-shareholders

They've had troubles in the past with debt and income, but is it possible they'll turn it around, or should I just take my loss and move on? To me the news listed above seems promising but the stock just keeps going down.

    Thanks for any input!
