Is there a real reason for a pair of glasses to cost $150+?

    Posted: 07 Feb 2022 01:48 PM PST

I recently changed the windshield of my car. It costed me $160. My glasses cost more than that and I can't really justify that. Do you have any idea?

Finally started wholesaling real estate after a few years of procrastinating, had no traction for nearly 3 months and now set close over $41k in deals this month.

    Posted: 07 Feb 2022 01:46 PM PST

I'm 25 & was waiting tables, decided I need to put my foot on the gas if I am going to achieve my goals So I started wholesaling real estate to raise enough capital for my app idea. I started cold calling 5 days a week 600-700 calls per day since November. I've had no traction whatsoever until the last week of January, currently have three pending deals that will close this month that will bring in roughly $41k in profit.

Consistency really pays off! Do not quit. Always give a new marketing strategy 6 months- 1 year of consistent action to truly assess how effective it is. If you quit before 6 months you simply don't have enough data yet to determine if it is effective or not.

Best sources to stay up to date on latest trends?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2022 12:58 AM PST

Where do you find accurate information for new technology, trends, and general information about the future? News is usually quite skewed as they usually have a biased agenda paid by big companies.

Obviously reddit is quite good for staying up to date, however when reddit IPOS later this year I am 100% sure there will be a lot of censorship.

Can we please stop normalizing the idea of booking a Zoom/Teams/Other meeting app, as a first point of contact!?

    Posted: 07 Feb 2022 11:15 AM PST

It's driving me fcuking nuts. What a massive bastard waste of time. Maybe it's just me but this seems to be the new order of things -

LinkedIn Introduction from a strange - Hey here's my pitch blah blah

    Me: Sure , sounds interesting

Strange: (2 Days later) BLAH BLAH, Let's schedule a time to discuss

    Me: Sure

Strange: (Maybe 9 hours later) Send me your email and we can schedule a meeting via Zoom or some other platform.

    Me: *Sigh*

Back in the day ( like 25 months ago) It was a one liner, "drop your number and get on a 5 minute call in the next 10 mins) , a quick yes or no and then DONE

    - Now after several back and forths, it's a stupid meeting, that also lasts over an hour, I need to fake looking presentable and organise space on my desk for my makeshift studio appearance. It's absolutely ridiculous, why has this become a thing? I'm not bashing Zoom for worthwhile meetings but it's become normal now, at least in my experience to jump on a 45 minute video meeting as a first engagement and that's just absolute bollocks imo.

And yes, I get Zoom and co are amazing for remote meetings, but they shouldn't be the first port of call whether you're selling or buying. Elevator pitch on the phone > Like/No Lke > Now let's do Zoom.

    Is Meta all hype?

    Posted: 07 Feb 2022 04:04 AM PST

The hype of Meta may not last as long. Their stock plunged, losing more than $200 Billion in value! Major sources of concern: the rise of TikTok; privacy changes made by Apple Inc.; macroeconomic constraints on ad spending.

    What are your thoughts?

Looking To Connect With Others | Digital Marketing Agency

    Posted: 07 Feb 2022 06:24 PM PST

    Greetings r/Entrepreneur,

One of my main focuses for the year 2022 is to connect with more people.

This statement needs some context. Well I live my life by a plethora of cliché saying. One of those cliché sayings is "show me your friends and I will show you your future". Something that really resonates with me and makes more and more sense as time goes on. I've also realized "it's less of what you do and more about who you know" (see another cliché). So my goal is to network more, to meet more people in person and virtually. Online is going to be a focus more as locally I do a better job of putting myself in the position to connect more.

Not sure who else can relate to loving business. I thoroughly enjoy the whole thing (more or less) as a whole. There are aspects that I dislike, but even some of the dislikes are just problems that need solved. Solving problems is stimulating and exciting, we can absolutely talk more about that. However I feel that topic deserves another post of its own. There are so many variables and aspects to business and I also really enjoy creating. It feels good to be able to understand and take pieces from on puzzle and use them in another. Even though one venture is very different than another there are still so many similarities.

One of my current ventures is a marketing agency. Really it's a group comprised of some individuals who have a background in digital marketing who just so happen to think that "team work makes the dream work". Full disclosure we are still at the beginning stages of things. Last year we spent the time to lay out the frame work and build what I think to be a solid foundation. This year we want to focus on building up!

Let's connect and let's meet. If you are a digital marketer or have digital marketing skills, lets connect and discuss best practices. We could even potentially work on some projects together. Maybe you have your own agency, let's discuss how we might be able to work together. Possibly work through or assist with some struggles. You don't have to be in marketing to reach out. If you have a business and want to connect let's do it! Tell us what it is you do and what your struggles are. I'd love to collaborate and chat with everyone in the comments, however chats are also welcomed.

I think I found a way to create volumetric (holograms) that you can touch

    Posted: 07 Feb 2022 04:11 PM PST

I thought of an idea similar to what voxon does except it would be even better. The only problem with Voxon's display is that it will basically destroy your fingers if you touch it. I 3D printed some parts for a prototype and it seems to work so far but the image is kind of blurry but not too awful. You can also touch it making it possible to directly interact with the display. Do you guys think there is a huge market for 3D displays you can directly interact with? I just fear that they may only be limited to certain niche markets or demand might be quite low as they seem to only be applicable to gamers or 3D designers and gamers and 3D designers might not be willing to spend more on a 3D display but it may be useful for advertising in public. Any advice?

    Sell before Launch?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2022 03:57 AM PST

Over the last several months We've been working on some software. We have buyers in place and an immediate addressable market of ~$2M per year with only one competitor who nobody seems to like.

We've been approached by another company, with zero revenue, who wants to buy us out for equity only. They have been very successful in previous ventures to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.

It seems like there is potential huge multiples of upside for selling for equity in this other company; however, our first payday might be years down the road.

Should we, start selling our product and come back with a cash+ equity offer? Focus on just growing our company? Is it possible to negotiate that we keep 100% of sales until "x" dollars?

We'd really like to work with this other company, but we want to find an arrangement that makes sense for us.

What are you doing during the Super Bowl to promote your business?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2022 03:52 AM PST

There are many tactics that can help ride the wave created by large events to increase a brand's exposure. Small business marketers can use social media to promote their business during major events without paying for endorsement.

Looking forward to reading your comments.

    Advice for 100% newbie?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2022 03:16 AM PST

    Hello all web designers!

I require some advice on where to start with this thing. My wife wants to start a new business ( mani-pedi) and i want to make for her a webpage from scratch.

I am not looking to invest a lot of time and money into it ( free services would be amazing) as it would be only for promoting the service at a local adress.

    Mostly i want three things...

    1. To customize the page layout, buttons, color ( i dont mind learning some html or java or something) however she wants to

    2. To have an "album" section where she can upload pictures of nail models and such.

    3. An appointment feature to select the time and date for clients. ( would be nice if clients could be given the option to choose the model if they want alongside the appointment).

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    dailyfarmlife.com

    Posted: 08 Feb 2022 12:54 AM PST

    Hi,

    Im thinking about a project.

People nowadays play games where they are farming/farmers. They look at videos of cats and nature.

Yet.. many people are stuck in small apartments in cities, some of them socially isolated during these times. Far away from nature and its calming effects.

I want to create a place online where they can enter a farm! With a good camera lens with a shallow depth of field they will enter

    different "rooms" of a farm..

One with sheeps sleeping, one with a cat purring, one where vegetables are being collected, one where you are walking in a field among flowers when the sun is rising.

On a picture/"map" of a farm they can choose which room to play.

And then they could keep that "world" going in the background of their home on

a projector, or on the tv. As if they were in a farm.

I look at it as medicine/meditation/therapy. A try to give people a bit of nature when they can not afford it. maybe schools in the cities can decorate a room with plants and play the rooms with a projector on a wall?

Im decent at photography but i dont have a farm. But maybe i can get in contact with one. I dont care about money here, I have another domain that might result in earnings. I also have a bachelor in industrial design and i have produced products/candle holders/pitchers.

Any thoughts on this project? have a good day, hope we can give some value to others through creativity.

    Cheers!

    tl;dr

dailyfarmlife gives you the soothening effects of farmlife virtually in your home, when you dont have access to it physically.

I need to send an email to 6k potential customers

    Posted: 08 Feb 2022 04:05 AM PST

I have an email list with 6k potential customers from an open source. I want to send them an email to have a look at our new product that is highly relevant to them.

    1. what would be the best/easiest way to send an email to these 6k prospects? I've heard about things like Mailchimp and Klaviyo – is it possible to upload an Excel list with the email addresses and then send 1 mail to the 6k email addresses from Mailchimp/Klaviyo?
    2. how to make sure it doesn't go into their spam folder? – I want to share a URL to our webstore. I have a feeling this will make the mail go into the spam folder. Is this true?
    3. issues regarding GDPR: I've read about getting in trouble with emailing people that haven't opted in. In my eyes what I'm trying to do is no different than going to the website of the potential customer, check their contact info and send an email to them. Except now I don't have to manually go to each website and check their contact info. So, I should be good but I still wanted to run it by reddit strangers. Thoughts?

Does anyone have successful tender government, municipal contracts?

    Posted: 07 Feb 2022 10:00 PM PST

    Hello Entrepreneurs,

I have a question about selling to government. Long story short; Does any company can sell construction services and goods under same company name? I have a company and I have construction network, same time I have connections with food suppliers. If I bid on a construction job and accomplished. Then can I bid on food services? How can I generalize my business to Tender except only one industry. I am very confused.

Also, did you ever accomplish all of it, or did you cut back on some of the business ideas that you originally had in mind?
