I'm 15, and I want to help my parents be debt-free in the future. How?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 12:48 AM PST

Hey. I'm 15 and I wanna help my parents be debt-free in the future.. We live in Australia. I am not extremely smart in studies/grades but I am above average. Any ideas on how to start and what to do? My dad said I should learn everything I can because time is my greatest enemy and greatest friend. He wants me to be financially free, since we aren't a wealthy family and my dad grew up kinda poor overseas. Both my parents do work that doesn't really pay that well and just barely supports the family. They don't want me to become like them in the future, so they tell me I need to learn. Any tips on how to start? Any type of help would be appreciated :)

I want to launch my Llamatch game

    Posted: 18 Feb 2022 11:31 PM PST

Hey! Let me talk a sec about IT'S LLAMATCH! I just made this card game and launched it on Kickstarter. Check it out! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/its-llamatch/its-llamatch It's Just like Tinder... but with llamas! Just consider backing it so it can become a reality. Why should you? Well... - It's superfun - It's got all Tinder's clichés + all llamas' fluffyness - It's LGTB+ friendly - If you give us your support, we can keep on developing games and making people laugh... and that's all I want in life.

Bad weather today. Employee is fine with it. Partner is concerned. Do I let them employee come in for work.

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 06:17 AM PST

I've already suggested they take the day. They said it's fine, they're used to it. Business partner pointed out snow squalls are the worst driving conditions and suggested I just tell them to stay home.

Should this situation be their choice or mine?

    Entrepreneur experiences

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 06:08 AM PST

    Hello,

I am in the process of creating a youtube channel that will talk about surpassing oneself, entrepreneurship...

And I would have liked, during a video, to see several, tell a little about the journey of entrepreneurs. So I'm looking to learn from your experiences.

Have you ever created a company, a product, an innovation...? If so, what was your background, what challenges did you encounter, and how did you resolve them?

    Thank you in advance :)

I need to rest but I can’t stop thinking about my business all the time.

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 05:49 AM PST

I can't get my brain to take some time off. I know how important it is to take a break and recover, but I'm currently raising for a seed round with only 3 months left to close or else we go completely broke. I have so many things I need to learn more about as they are not my forte (for example, how to be better with sales and marketing), on top of 50 other things to do. I can't relax even if I try and I'm always under so much pressure that it's starting to affect nearly all aspect of my life. The only time I get to "relax" from my startup is going to the gym. Even when I'm out to meet friends for a couple of hours, I can't concentrate being with them, because I'm constantly thinking of all my backlogs. We have a good product, we're meeting our kpi's but it's so dependent on the work we put in. We don't have pmf yet. I'm getting exhausted and I just need a proper rest. How do you deal with this? How do you train your brain to rest?

    Workflow for designing a chatbot

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 05:48 AM PST

This is my first time making a chatbot and I'm just underwhelmed with how to sit down and design all of the pieces. It's a clinical chatbot so I would ask questions and based on the answers go to the next step. I'm using lucidcharts for the backbone template but just don't know how to connect what to what. What is your method to get through all the questions and get something sensible on paper before working on the chatbot flow?

How do they make money ?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 05:33 AM PST

I see a lot of pages that provide content (like 8Facts account) but I'm not sure how do they make money out of this biz model? They don't run any promotions or ads for other brands, they just provide fun facts.

How do they make money ?

How do I go about getting my platform featured on good-quality blogs?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 05:31 AM PST

For context: I'm looking to build up backlinks to my platform - Domain Tools Niche - and rank on search engines the right way.

Any idea how much would this cost me? Where to exactly find active people to work with? And what can I expect in terms of traffic?

Thanks in advance, and feel free to reach out if you think we could make a good match working together.

P.S. I know, I know, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. I am, I just wanted to see if I can get different perspectives.

How do I grow usage of The Wikipedia game?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 03:39 AM PST

Since I launched https://thewikipediagame.com a couple of weeks ago I have had just over 20k play the game. It has been featured in two US publications (Protocol Source Code and Morning Brew) and has had many positive comments from people on Twitter sharing the game.

On a side note for others pursuing ideas, I posted the game on ProductHunt at the beginning. While this seemed like a failure (only 15 upvotes) it is actually where the game was picked up by journalists. So for others questioning whether ProductHunt is a good place to post/feeling disappointed after a 'failed' ProductHunt campaign do not worry.

I just wanted the perspective of r/Entrepreneur about what my next steps should be. How should I increase usage? How do I get the game in front of more people?

Advice from entrepreneurs on speculative applications to start-ups and small businesses

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 03:16 AM PST

TL/DR***:*** As a start-up or small business entrepreneur, how should I as someone starting out as a freelance content writer who wants to write content for you, approach you in a speculative application to win you over? You guys have very high standards and I know you don't want me to sound desperate for the experience or money; I know you want me to be showing genuine interest in your business, but how else should I be approaching you?

Context and background to this post can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Entrepreneur/comments/sumr80/unpaid_work_experience_with_an_entrepreneur/

I am now thinking of sending out "speculative applications" to start-ups and small businesses in my city (London - where there are 1.1 million start-ups - I hardly know where to begin!), offering my writing services with perhaps a free sample of writing.

As weird as it sounds (since I'm a writer) I don't know how to structure the applications. I know I should always start with why I am offering my services to you guys who run your own businesses and why you should use my services and why it will benefit your business, and not what I do (always start with 'why' not 'what' is something I've been told when approaching business people offering my services).

I would like all the entrepreneurs reading this to imagine that I was writing to you. You've just received a letter or an email from me, Mr Aspiring Freelance Writer for Start-ups and Small Businesses, who really wants you to either grant me some unpaid experience or even pay me to write content - let's say 1 article per month as a suggestion - on your company website. What's going to get you to reply to me saying 'yes' or at least have you considering the idea as opposed to simply ghosting me, deleting the email or throwing the letter in the bin? What would put you off and what would not?

    Many thanks in advance.

EDIT: I would also love and appreciate advice on speculative applications for short-term unpaid work experience with you - in addition to or instead of advice on pitching freelance services. I really would like to spend a short amount of time working with a start-up.

Starting a side hustle (where should I sell?)

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 01:27 AM PST

Hi, I make crochet jewelry and have had people express interest in buying some of my stuff! So far I'm working up my inventory, but where is the best place for me to sell? I've seen resale shops post on Instagram and I've seen order forms on Google docs- I have also considered Etsy. What works best? Pros/cons? Thanks for your time!

Need help forming this subscription base donation idea I have in my head.

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 05:07 AM PST

Subscription base models are everywhere today. Whether it's Spotify, Netflix, or supporting your favorite YouTuber on Patreon.

So I was thinking it makes sense for now today for most people to have a subscription base donations that charge monthly.

This isn't a new thing, I just want to add a new modern twist to donation.

I was thinking for example you have a pick of your plan in mind whether it's a $1,$5,$10 and so on. You pick which charity you want to support or movement. Say like a climate change charity, homeless charity, or a kid charity.

Than those charity or Organization provide rewards for backing them. Unlike a kickstarter those rewards would be more intangible for example maybe a monthly livestream or something else.

Anything else you think you can add on this idea? I would appreciate the help.

How do you handle corporate tax?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2022 12:33 AM PST

    Hi guys!

I've been putting aside a percentage of our profit each month for corporation tax and have about a £25000 pot.

Rather than giving this to the government, I would rather invest this into my business e.g. Pay for more freelancers or increase our own pensions.

How do you guys do things? What's the best way to handle this pot? Should I have been used this amount already rather than letting it get to this size?

    Cheers

Anyone Have Experience Starting a Podcast Studio for Hire?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2022 08:44 PM PST

I'm considering starting a podcast studio in a major city. I've got a good space in a busy location.

I'm wondering about the market, and whether enough people would be interested. Many studios charge $75 an hour and I'm curious to know how many people utilize these locations.

How do I drop ship multiple items into 1 box with nice packaging/logo

    Posted: 18 Feb 2022 06:21 PM PST

Basically, I want to sell a game containing 7 different items readily available on Ali or Amazon. I want to include instructions. I want to have custom labeling of the box and possibly items included.

It seems like I need Shopify to FBA? But would love to have some guidance.

Has anyone done storage out of their own home?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2022 11:21 PM PST

I have a larger home with about 900sqft of available space. Thinking about providing a small amount of storage. See what happens.

I know there is an app called "neighbor" that's like airbnb for your attic space and basement space you don't use.

Wondering why I wouldn't just do it myself aside from marketing and reach? Seems like it would be a good side hustle to start to see if I could cultivate into something?

Anyone have experience doing this? Pros/cons? Advice? Thank you!

When do you know that you have product market fit?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2022 11:18 PM PST

I understand it in a conceptual level but I'm curious to explore the borders, so how would you define the time when you cross no fit to market fit?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2022 11:12 PM PST

    Hi all.

I will be posting somewhen about looking for cofounders for my own business activities,

but in the meantime, I wanted to test out my Ideas skills!

Feel free to contact me if you need any ideas for things . . .

    - like business ideas, "how do I change things up & get my people more motivated?"

    - "What do I do in this situation?"

    - "What software might be available out there to help with my business?"

    - Or you need help with content creation ideas with YouTube or Twitch?

    - What type of home businesses are available that would suit me?

Basically, I tend to have a lot of ideas.

I'm an older guy of 44, so I'm alright giving out some good life advice too - Relationships, running a home, clearing debt, managing money, saving, investing.

If you need help or ideas or something that could at least spark a new idea between us, I want to help people, as many as possible!

Obviously I am not a professional or qualified in any of these things and your money and life and decisions are at your own risk. But I'll be on here a long time and I hope to earn peoples trust, and I just want to help as many people in the world as possible.
