What could have hedged you in 2000? Posted: 28 Dec 2021 09:46 PM PST I'm looking at days in 2000 where QQQ lost 8% and vix went DOWN. and so did bonds. Is there a way to generate those market heat maps but from terrible days in the past? Is there a postmortem on the nasdaq bubble and how you could have hedged yourself (without selling everything and walking away)? I dont like the idea of puts because the bubble took so long to deflate that puts would have barely worked. and there was a lot of volatility but vix didn't really take off. Bonds didn't appear to do well either. Is there anything that went up that year? [link] [comments]
Morning Update for Wednesday, 12/29/21 Posted: 29 Dec 2021 06:19 AM PST Good morning everyone, it's hump day. Not a lot of stocks gapping up on high volume, we should see another low volume session today. Once again, it's okay to sit things out if nothing is looking great; no need to force trades. These posts are for informational purposes only. I am not a financial advisor. Main Watchlist: Gapping UP:
Gapping DOWN:
Momentum Watchlist:
Market Outlook: Stocks are looking at a mixed open, somewhat flat. Global COVID cases are spiking once again, and it will be interesting to see how this affects the market heading into the new year. It seems the omicron strain is less worrisome to investors because of the milder symptoms, but it could cause problems if we see any additional lockdowns or travel restrictions. We have seen low volume sessions so far this week, worth monitoring the volume over the next few days. Remember to use proper risk management; size appropriately for your account and have a plan for every trade you enter. Happy trading everyone :) [link] [comments]
