Leaving my company after 3 years Posted: 17 Dec 2021 07:51 PM PST After three years of working for a company, I'm finally leaving to a better paying position. The week before I put in my two week notice, they gave me a 3k bonus and won a speaker in a raffle. I'd normally feel bad for leaving it that way but I found out that 5 of us with the same position are getting paid very different salaries. I wish my old company the best but I couldn't take that [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Dec 2021 11:11 PM PST Hi all, I am currently facing quite a difficult choice regards to my next job, so please share your thoughts which would definitely give me a lot of ideas. Summary of my careers thus far, late 30s spent over a decade in customer engagement, sales and account management in the casino industry which was heavily impacted by Covid and return to the industry seems almost impossible. Now I work in a startup asset management company as a BDM but I don't enjoy working there at all, and both my hiring managers left the company for different reasons. After re-thinking of my careers, I realized I could transit myself into sales for SaaS due to my experience and my passion in tech. I didn't have much success in the interview process due to my lack of experience in SaaS and B2B experience. Fortunate enough, I was being offered by some companies but really struggled to decide which to go for. Company 1 - BDR for one of the leaders in SaaS globally, the company still has a bright future and plenty of potential in my eye; Good
Bad
Company 2 – a BDM for one Australian SaaS platform, the business has been expanding nationwide rapidly and aiming to open in NZ and UK Good
Bad
Company 3 – a Sales Engineer for an Australian hardware company, the role is offered to me as I know hiring manager in personal life Good
Bad
I am leaning towards option 1, as I really optimistic about the company and the guys I have spoken to. HR went extra mile by trying to get me a higher compensation but it was unsuccessful. Another of my concern is, by accepting a BDR role, it basically meant 10 plus years working as a full cycled sales and account manager are wasted as they are not required in the role. Although HR promised there will be a review after 6 months, who knows if it will happen. Which option do you think it's more sensible and would be the best choice in the long run? Thanks in advance!!
