How do you find new B2B customers?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2021 10:35 PM PST

Hello everybody! I hope you are all doing great! I have a question that has bothered me recently. The thing is that I have a small business. Less than 100 people work for me. But the problem is that I have a massive stock of goods in my warehouse. I thought of searching for B2B customers that would love to buy my stock for their own stores. Even though it is not really specifics of our business.

The issue is that I sell different construction materials for B2C customers. I have opened several stores already, and I am willing to expand. But recently, I've hired a new person, which is really amazing. In the beginning, I doubted that a girl who had just graduated from college could do a proper business analysis. But I have no idea what da hell they teach students in colleges, but this person did a fantastic job. After a couple of weeks working for us, she managed to properly analyze some suppliers we work with and our warehouse.

So, based on that analysis, I've realized that we order from some suppliers too many goods, and we barely sell them. Basically, they just take an empty space in our warehouse. Besides, it prevents us from ordering more stock from suppliers that are on-demand in our region. I just dunno. How come I was so blind that I didn't notice this problem before. Even more, I wonder why da hell no one else has pointed out this problem.

Apart from noticing the issue we faced for ages, she also suggested re-selling some of the stuff we keep in stock to other companies across the country. She suggested we hire a company that specializes in B2B lead generation. So, basically, they will find potential customers for us based on our preferences and requests. I think this idea might work, even though we do not specialize in B2B sales.

Still, I wanna hear your opinion. Would another company buy someone's deadstock?

UK's biggest supermarkets have promised to halve the environmental impact of a weekly food shop by 2030. Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Co-op and M&S said they would reduce carbon emissions, deforestation and the food waste and packaging they produce. What are your thoughts on this?

Is It Illegal To Start A Business Doing This?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2021 12:57 PM PST

Can someone start a business where they raise money, take a small % of that money for profit, and use the rest of it to do charitable things like help the homeless, install grab bars, ramps, etc at elderly peoples homes, clean up parts of the city, plant some trees, etc ?

Wondering if thats legal or if it's mandatory that you would have to register as a non profit or charity.

What is the legality of buying a single-family unit, and bringing in roommates to pay your mortgage without telling them that you are the landlord?

Book recommendations for supply chain management

    Posted: 07 Nov 2021 05:56 AM PST

Looking for book recommendations on supply chain management.

I'm looking to understand the evolution of supply chain management over the years and what are the best practices.

Not really looking at academic texts but more analysis of companies with successful supply chain systems (eg Walmart).

    Thanks!

I need sources for an overview on BPM

    Posted: 07 Nov 2021 02:43 AM PST

Sorry if this isnt the right sub, but I didn't know where else to post it.

I have an interview next week for a position half software engineer and half business process management. They know I've never studied it or did anything related to that but they said "we will put you in that position" since my good scholastic experience.

Can someone give me some sources/material/redirect me to practical guides to understand the very basics of BPM?

    Thanks
