Posted: 30 Oct 2021 12:37 AM PDT Hello everyone, I need a little help deciding on where I should go with my career. I am getting out of the United States Army next year and will be transferring my college credits to my home state's university soon. I am majoring in Business Administration and will have 90 college credits by April. I will then look to pursue an MBA after finishing my Bachelor's with the rest of my Post 9/11 GI Bill. I have learned that I love managing people, working as a team, teaching soldiers about how to manage their finances, and that I want a work/life balance. I don't mind being on the grindstone for a little bit, but eventually I want to settle down. I feel like there a lot of different careers I can go into, like banking or management; but I really want to get an idea on particular careers that might interest me. To be honest, I lack mentorship so any tips would be appreciated! [link] [comments] |

Can an EU-based company open up a branch in the US? Posted: 29 Oct 2021 08:07 AM PDT Hello everybody! I know that it's not the best idea to ask for a piece of advice online. Still, I wanna try my luck and perhaps find someone who had an experience, or at least knows something about how an EU-based company or just one resident can open a company in the US? We already have a registered IT company in Estonia and would like to expand our business in the US. I'm aware that it's not really common when an EU-based company decides to open a branch in the US. Still, I think it happens sometimes. That's why I've decided to ask for a piece of advice here. Maybe someone already knows something or helped someone to go through the whole process. Besides, I did some research, but some things are unclear on the official websites. However, I found this company — e-Delaware, that assists during the whole process. Basically, they help out in registering an LLC for foreign investors. I like how they explained a lot of things. But, since we are an IT company, we would be interested in registering in other states, where there is a broader choice of potential customers or partners. For instance, we would be particularly interested in states such as Cali, Utah, Texas. It would be helpful to suggest a list of similar companies that operate in mentioned states. I've researched myself, and I know that you can operate only in the state where you are registered. Besides, Suppose you want to run a company in several states. In that case, you need to go through the whole application process again and pay corporate taxes in each state. Still, some parts of the US are friendly to foreign investors and even provide some privileges in the first year. So, we still have a lot of work to do and weigh all pros and cons. But the main question that remains on the table is if an EU-based company can open up a branch in the US and if it's necessary to invite a US resident for a banging and shareholder position, or we can do everything without their assistance? How to boost sales for an online store? Posted: 29 Oct 2021 06:52 AM PDT Hi there! I have recently opened up an online store where I sell some handmade stuff. I've created a simple template website to list the full range of items, stock availability, and prices. So far, I have been selling on Instagram and FB, and it was relatively smooth sailing. I've also put up the info about the delivery and promos. Usually, I share the promos or giveaways through SM channels, but I think it would be great to find alternative ways to boost online sales. That's why I've come here for advice. Perhaps many of you already have online stores that bring substantial profits. I would really appreciate some pointers from you. I've googled what I can do by myself to improve sales and found the following list. I looked through the points from this list and made sure I had no such problems: The price of the item is incorrect - I've rechecked them. The product that interested the client is out of stock - I send notifications about availability. Low level of service - I try to reply right away. No response when ordering goods - I've set up automatic e-mail notifications throughout the ordering process. Difficulties with the return or exchange of the ordered goods - I've added Return & Refund policy in my FAQ. Problems with delivery - I provide the tracking number and resend undelivered items. My online chatbot is really helpful and answers most of the common questions. I always try to update the information about my stock and prices. So, I've decided to dig deeper and found some tips about SEO and how it can affect sales. The most valuable piece of advice I've received is that SEO optimization plays a critical role in a site's promotion. Yet, it seems to be a massive task for one person, and the sites I've checked also recommended asking an expert for help rather than trying to do attempt it yourself. I found some companies that seem to be ok with small-scale businesses, like https://sproutboxmedia.com/, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. I don't really have a big budget to allocate to this, so I'm thinking of installing a WordPress plugin, like Yoast SEO, and filling out all the metadata by myself. My question is whether it'll be enough or is it still worth using SEO services. How important is SEO for a small store? I'm afraid of investing the little money I have and not getting any results at all. Should I stick to the SM promotion, or will it be better to try SEO? [link] [comments] |
