Apps, and tools good for investors and traders just starting out? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 06:05 AM PDT I'm a first-time investor who put in what I'm prepared to lose and experienced tremendous gains followed by crashes. I only lost a small amount of money, but it got me interested in trading too. What I feel like I'm missing now that I'm comfortable with learning to manage risk. I've heard folks say that certain apps and websites send them alerts when their traffic surges. I've discovered some option calculator apps. Do you have any apps or websites that you think are necessary for starting or even experienced investors? So far, I am looking at Use Lantern, Atom Finance and Yahoo! Finance. [link] [comments]

22 years old, college student, looking for advice to get ahead of the investor game Posted: 08 Sep 2021 07:57 PM PDT I am a 22 year old student who is studying finance, but I would like to apply what I have learn in class room in the real world . I actually have a hobby job where I make 2.5k USD , and I would like to investment my money in aggressive moderate scheme initially then move into a more aggressive , but keeping my own risk tolerance. my idea is to investment 2.5k USD monthly in the below list with the right percentages . which platform should I use for non-US / non-Canadian or non-UK citizen in order to buy / sell `stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, options, futures` ? which platforms fits better for foreigners since not every PLATFORM allows foreigners ? if I choose to invest with dedicated firms such as BlackRock , what asset classes should I use and how much percentage?

Ive Created A New WSB/Crypto Sentiment App Posted: 08 Sep 2021 03:16 PM PDT Hey guys, me and my friend are both software engineers and have been working on a small project in our spare time. We both have an interest in stock and crypto markets. We have developed a website to track sentiment across wallstreetbets and cryptocurrency forums. The website collects data and provides hourly statistics of tickers mentioned in each forum. We would love to hear what you guys think about it in the comments section. I hope you guys find it useful! https://stonkjs.com/ [link] [comments]

Are we reliving the Roaring 20s? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 08:19 PM PDT Think about it. The biggest MAINSTREAM non-Covid news stories the past two years have been things like GME/AMC stock and Bitcoin/Doge gains. Don't forget million dollar pokemon cards and NFTs! Las Vegas also had the highest grossing year in its history. Widespread pumping and degeneracy without much critically thoughtful discourse. In all, there just seems to be unusual interest and glamorization of stocks and investing. Like when was the last time "investing" was fetishized so hard by the masses? Seems unsustainable. The current atmosphere and culture is one where people will look back on in 30 years and say, "Jeez people in the 2020s were really off their rocker. That level of pumping and mania was clearly not sustainable. How did they not see that market crash coming?" There also seems to be tons general social debauchery. Tattoos. People unwilling to work basic entry level jobs. Weird sex shit being normalized. We are an out of control people at the moment. [link] [comments]

Is it bad to sell a stock at the same price you bought it from? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 03:56 PM PDT Please be easy on me, I am a very new investor so I am still trying to figure everything out. I bought Ethereum Classic at $51.93 for 9.446056 shares so in total a $490.50 on April 16th 2021. I then bought more Ethereum Classic at $51.98 for 0.173097 shares which in total was $9.00 on April 16, 2021. After seeing it rise and drop (which i understand is the whole point of the stock market) - I was just very nervous so I decided to sell all my shares of Ethereum Classic: (9.619153) for $505.36. This was all on the Robinhood app Was that a bad idea? It seems like I did not really lose any money but I am not entirely sure. So if I am correct, I put in $499.50 and made a profit of $5.86. Is this right? If someone could please explain if I am right or wrong I Would greatly appreciate it. [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Sep 2021 08:31 AM PDT Spotify has dropped 20% since the beginning of the year and it seems to be on its way of bouncing back.SO, is Spotify now playing a song of profit or are we just high? ---Promise or Non-sense?--- The main SPOT If you do listen to music or podcasts, you are probably one of their users. Spotify currently holds the biggest market share in terms of the subscription music industry. Over half of their active users are under 35. They are the most profitable listeners and have the highest usage rate. For young adults, user experience is one of the most valued things. Spotify knows that and is starting features like music customization AI and content discovery system. Which is something competitors like Youtube and Apple music haven't been able to pull off. - Big Bright Future Spotify has a new partnership with Delta Air lines, passengers of Delta can now listen to all content on Spotify free. In return, Spotify will be paid for the licensing and more growth room for potential new users. As streaming services, especially podcasts, are growing rapidly. More and more companies seek podcast channels for advertisements. Hence the acquisition of the podcast discovery channel called Podz. Keeping both content creators and users coming back for more. - Time to profit Based on the reasons above, and as a user of many sound streaming service platforms. I believe Spotify has the most growth potential, despite losing some of their market shares to its competitors. They're using most of the profit to reinvest into projects, it's kinda like NFLX when it just started. So yeah, great profit potential, great company outlook and nice music. Sounds like $$$ to me. Is it a good idea to crowdsource intraday crypto and stock price predictions Posted: 08 Sep 2021 03:29 PM PDT Hi folks! My buddy and I put up a simple website (https://predictaa.com) that does something similar to the prediction polls here with the difference that it puts more weighs on the votes of those with better historical accuracies (hmm that's interesting right?) We used Logistic Regression for that and to encourage people to participate we put a point system such that if you vote you'll get to see the "smart" poll results. In some sense you can see the wisdom of the crowd on intraday price predictions (stocks and cryptos). I wanted to get your feedback on whether the idea is worth pursuing. I think the benefit of the approach is that everyone gets to see the AI/ML based poll results instead of just the number of votes. This is important because the majority is usually either new users or people who don't do enough research whereas with a bit of data mining and ML you can get significantly better predictions from same set of votes. The website also has AI/ML based lows and highs detection that can be useful as well. [link] [comments]
