How Do I Start a News Website? Posted: 17 Sep 2021 12:16 AM PDT I had an idea for a News website and was wondering how I would go about it. Would it be possible to start for little to no money? I'm just curious if I'm in over my head or if it's something achievable with pretty much no startup budget and no experience in the News field. Edit: I've decided that it's probably best that I start a blog or newsletter instead since I can't afford to hire staff so I'll be doing everything by myself. I'm leaning towards a blog, but I'm not 100% sure if that's the right choice. [link] [comments] |

I need some help with what to do with my new connections. Posted: 16 Sep 2021 09:14 PM PDT Hello everyone. I am currently in a tough situation not with school but with keeping my connections. I am in urgent need of advice. I am currently in my first year in college for my Architectural Technology course in Ontario, Canada. I came into this course not only to learn the material, expand my skills, and build my portfolio but to expand my connections with other people in my field. Recently, I have been in this mood to just ditch all these people as they are annoying and just get the worst emotions out of me. Now, from a business perspective, I see these people as possible connections and future partners. I also know that I shouldn't let emotions get to me. I am not sure if it's a quick mood swing or turn of emotions due to the class workload. One of my main focuses of entering post-secondary is to create the most positive connections with as many people as I can. I do understand the value of having connections and how it is able to help me in the future. I am in the mood to just cut everyone out and grind my new part-time job and school out with no other distractions. Now here comes the big question, What do I do? How did keeping connections help not only your future as an architect but your business/employment? I have huge future goals. I am only 18 and want to make my first million by 25. It's more so my mind is a little scrambled. This is what has me stunning, as this has never happened before. I am very strong mentally and usually outsmart people and never get distracted by emotions. so why is this one thing bothering me so much and what do I do. Do I stop being selfish and prioritize the connections, or do I just go on my own hustle and leave everyone behind and move on with life at my own pace. [link] [comments] |
Starting a Business (Contractor/MSP) Posted: 16 Sep 2021 08:15 PM PDT Hello all, Quite frankly this post is in regards to what someone would expect when trying to start a business. My background is in IT and more specifically Network Engineering. I have not touched every bit of Network Technologies to exist however, I don't plan on stopping my expertise either. I live in Southern Maryland of which is rich in DOD related work and many contractors to support such efforts. I am wondering if anyone who has also started a business in a relating field could take the time to tell you story and what steps you took to start up. Ie. Contracts, Employees, Acquiring office space. Everything you can think of please. We all only have one life and I think this would be something nice to achieve. Thank you all, Anon [link] [comments] |

To reinvest in business or to recoup losses Posted: 16 Sep 2021 07:11 PM PDT We own a carwash on a busy main road, me and my business partner are at a crossroads as to whether we should reinvest in our business, we took over this business a couple years ago and we had great turn over, great carwash location and a nice neat cafe which would sell about 10 kilos of coffee a week, the cafe now is outdated and we sell no coffee (barely compared to what we used to) our coffee machine is old and we have lost a lot of customers due to the ongoing pandemic, in the last year alone the business has lost around 150k, in Sydney we are currently in lockdown and we are opening up in October which gives us a month to redo our cafe, we currently resigned a new lease for 4 years. I keep telling my partner we should redo the cafe inside and clean up the property to make everything look presentable, it will cost us another 30-40 thousand to make things look great. Hire a professional barista and install a juice/cocktail bar. My partner things we should just keep things as is to recoup losses [link] [comments] |

Should I shut down my business? Posted: 16 Sep 2021 12:43 PM PDT Hi, So basically, I currently run a small business whilst being a university student. I am about to go into my second year of uni, and I am also dealing with some personal issues. I absolutely love the concept of my business, love the fact that I'm helping people with it and love the independence and freedom that goes with it. My issue is thar second year content counts, I absolutely hate the admin side of things and I don't know if I'll be able to keep on it contacting clients and sending invoices. I have struggled to do this this year. It's such a conflicted thing because obviously I know degree comes first, but I feel like a part of me will disappear if I drop my business. I founded it in a very tough time in my life, and it's been one of those things that's kept me going. It would be extremely hard to let it go 💔. I honestly don't know what to do, but considering I know that the easiest decisions don't correspond to the wisest in every instance, I've opted to ask for some advice. Any advice would be appreciated. Edit: my business is a tutoring business. It means getting my degree is kind of relevant with the business considering I'm doing tutoring alongside it. I eventually want to get a qualified teaching status to improve my sense of credibility [link] [comments] |

Are there places you can go to get advice or help in starting a business? Posted: 16 Sep 2021 02:13 PM PDT I have recently realized I have a skill that's strong enough I could theoretically start my own business. I know how to deliver the product but the thing is I haven't studied business or management and wouldn't know the first thing about running a legit business. Is there a business that helps starters actually do all the stuff you need to do to start a business. I have contacts I can use for marketing But I don't know how I would go about becoming a recognised business with whatever government agencies recognise it. How to pay my tax, what I need to do if I need to hire anyone, etc. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Sep 2021 02:03 PM PDT Hello all, I'm hoping to get some help determining if a business a friend of mine has gotten involved with is on the level. I don't know how to tell if a business is legit, kinda shady or an outright scam and I'm hoping one of you brilliant boffins may have more for me. Here is what little information I've been able to find so far: The facts: Mupo Entertainment claims to be a media production and management agency that has represented numerous celebrities and have produced things for HBO, Netflix, etc. They offer seminars, courses and business partnerships (this is what my friend has gotten into). They have a strong female empowerment message. The company is owned by a lady named Michele Mupo, who prefers the name "Fuchsia". My Concerns: Since getting involved my friend has started really pushing the company online and is trying to recruit people to sign up for courses or to get involved in "making a show for Netflix" but when asked for details they just say you get to make whatever you want. It is clear their income is based on them recruiting and to me that screams MLM. Their website is shockingly void of details regarding who they have represented and what shows they have produced. They make it very clear that Fuchsia represented herself during her musical career and they name some former WWE wrestlers she has worked with but other than that it doesn't say what they have supposedly made for the big companies. There are however MANY video produced about themselves that have serious Primerica vibes to them. Combine that with their NXIVM-esque Boss Chick messaging and I have concerns. I looked into their Youtube and Instagram and I'm pretty sure their numbers are faked. Over 200K subscribers but with engagement of less than 1%, plus that engagement is clearly coming from people involved with the company. I tried finding articles by third parties about them but the only thing I could find were articles posted to open forum site written by a company called MUDA Multimedia. I look into that company and it turns out to be a single employee company registered in New Jersey owned by guess who, Michele Mupo aka Fuchsia. Summary: [link] [comments] |
