Argentina's decentralized digital identity project begins to be tested Posted: 03 Aug 2021 12:42 AM PDT The project is supported by the IDB and the NGO Bitcoin Argentina. A blockchain decentralized digital identity project is being developed with help from the NGO Bitcoin Argentina and the IDB. Since 2020, the DIDI project has already entered the testing phase when ai·di started to work. The app " works as a digital briefcase that allows you to store credentials linked to economic, civic and social data ". The main objective of the project is to help the Argentine government to be more connected with the population, even facilitating access to credit for rural producers. The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), headquartered in Washington (USA), collaborates with the financial part necessary for the project. Argentina's decentralized digital identity project starts to be tested in more regionsLast week, the DIDI project started to carry out more tests with the decentralized digital identity application. The official launch of two identity projects on the blockchain was announced, one of them linked to digital government management, in the province of Misiones and in the municipality of General Pueyrredon. The other launch is related to the financial inclusion of rural producers and indigenous communities in the Gran Chaco region. The director of the DIDI Project, Javier Madariaga, celebrated the launch of the new tests by the innovation program. "The DIDI Project is a program that promotes the use of self-sovereign digital identity in the blockchain. This technological model, highly innovative in terms of digital identity, not only ensures secure and private management of personal information but also generates an extremely significant reduction in transaction costs and information verification, which are some of the factors that generate important friction in the access to goods and services in modern societies". The projects will be carried out in partnership with govtech OS City and the Cultural Association for Integral Development (ACDI). The pilot program provided interesting data for implementing the new testsThe pilot program of the decentralized digital identity project, now expanding in Argentina, provided the creators with a lot of interesting data. A few days ago, a law was passed in Misiones to allow the use of blockchain technology, a fact that expanded the scope of the project. The director of the DIDI Project hopes that this identification model will grow, with more companies using them in their processes. He also hopes that the privacy of personal data will be improved with this application, a pioneer in South America and a participating member of LACChain. "Our goal is to make this digital identity model grow so that more and more organizations use it and apply it in their work processes. This technology, a clear example of taking advantage of the advantages that the blockchain offers beyond cryptocurrencies, guarantees basic rights, such as the security and privacy of personal data, and improves the connection between individuals and institutions". Posted: 02 Aug 2021 11:45 PM PDT So long story short I have a friend of a friend who seems to be constantly broke or close to it, he barely ever seems to have any money and his bank account is usually close to empty, but it seems as though he can buy whatever he wants because whenever he wants something he just makes whatever money he happens to need on demand. I don't understand how, but apparently he does a few different things, two of which 1) soap or lotion (I think he implied making and selling it or something) and 2) working with scrap metal. Does anybody have any idea how these kinds of money making ideas can actually be made to work, or any other "money on demand" style of task? I have a couple of businesses that I run with someone I met at an old job a few years back, but this guy seems to have a completely different thought process to make his system work and apparently it's all based around legal business practices too. New to this sub so if I posted incorrectly let me know. Cross posted to other subs. Edit: I'm aware of on-demand style of jobs like Uber driving and the like, that friend of a friend I talked about definitely doesn't work for someone else when he does his work though. Videos You Should Create to Promote Your Business Posted: 02 Aug 2021 08:45 PM PDT As a small business owner, you're constantly thinking of new ways to promote your product or service. Years ago, the advertising options were limited. Owners paid for an ad on the radio, TV, or in print. Now, there's a whole host of digital marketing options that are available, including video marketing. In 2017, it was estimated that 69% of consumer Internet traffic will be consumed by video. It's an impressive statistic, but many owners assume the cost and time commitment to create and share videos isn't within their reach. To inspire you to create promotional videos on your own, here are three videos that you can make. I've even included a list of possible tools or apps you can use to make the video in a snap. 1. How-to videosOne of the best ways to use video is to show customers how to do something that pertains to your business. For instance, a restaurant could show customers how to set the perfect holiday table, or a cleaning company can show business executives how to keep their desks organized. Whatever your product or service, brainstorm a list of topics that you can show customers how to do. 2. Show off a productLooking to show off a new product or showcase a service that your business offers but few know about? Why not create a video? Here's a great example from a real estate agent showing off a new property that's available. It has just eight shots, no music, and no voiceover – just a few cool shots of a luxurious home. The idea behind a promotional video is to show consumers the product in a way that's not overly "sales." Consider shooting a few clips of video of your new product in a unique setting, and edit them together with music in the background and text on the screen. 3. Explainer videoHow can you explain what your company does to an audience? One of the best ways to explain your product or service is to shoot what's called an explainer video. The point of this video is to explain what your business does in a visual and succinct way. A lot of businesses put explainer videos on the main page of their website and see great results. Research indicates that explainer videos can increase conversion rates by 20 percent. Here's a great example from RealtyNinja, and another explainer video from Dropbox. You could create an explainer video using animation, like in the examples above. There are several DIY tools that can help you make videos like that. Or, you could shoot a video where the owner sits in front of the camera and explains what the business is all about. With a little time and creativity, you can create a video that promotes your product or service. Of course, there's going to be a learning curve involved, but once you get the hang of shooting and editing video, you'll be able to apply this marketing skill to a whole host of areas. You can shoot mini-tours of your company, a time-lapse of an event you hold, or a quick interview with a satisfied customer. Don't think of every shoot as an Oscar-winning opportunity; just focus on simple, executable ideas that are worth sharing with your audience. Here's an easy way to create videos for your business without breaking a sweat [link] [comments] |
Why investors use the Stock Price instead of the Market Cap. when calculating the trailing P/E? Posted: 02 Aug 2021 01:41 PM PDT Aren't stock price irrelevant if not taking into account the number of shares outstanding? Currently Shopify (SHOP) is trading at $1499, but it doesn't mean is more valuable than Apple (APPL) trading at $145, which instead has a market capitalization of $2.41T. How could investors be accurate using the stock price instead of the market cap. for the price-earnings? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Aug 2021 06:40 PM PDT Couldn't they just lie and say they were earning less than they actually are? Or would I have to explicitly state in a contract that they're obliged to provide evidence of earnings? Thanks in advance for the advice! [link] [comments] |
Someone in China is ripping off our brand. What can I do? Posted: 02 Aug 2021 07:27 AM PDT I'm in the alcohol industry and the company I work for has a unique bottle shape that is highly recognizable. In the last month, some individuals in China have screenshot images from our social media and placed them on their own scam websites, trying to get people to purchase. When the person buys, they eventually send them a plastic bottle with no alcohol in it. We found this out because several (20+) people have reached out to us upset with our brand for sending them a fake bottle. All of the people who fell for the scam were advertised to on Facebook/Instagram. We've reported the pages and gotten in contact with Facebook via email but they are being extremely slow to act. Has anyone seen or dealt with something like this before? Looking for suggestions on if there's anyway we can stop these scammers, or if we just need to keep playing the customer service game and live with it. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Aug 2021 11:10 AM PDT Hello, I am a 22M in college.I am studying management.I'm am about to start my fourth year which will complete my assiociates degree, where I then will move on to my bachelors.I plan on being a veterinary practice manager first as I love being around animals and being in that type of environment will help calm my anxiety as I'm a very introverted person, and also it will help me gain valuable business experience. Now, as the title says in the future, I do want to own my own dodgeball trampoline park.I loved Dodgeball as a kid in school and feel like it is a dying sport.I have come up with some concepts that would be good, and then an idea came to me.You know of Skyballs? Those small rubber balls that have a mixture of helium and compressed air allowing them to bounce up to 75 feet.I was thinking of the same concept for a trampoline area made of the same rubber material with the same combination of helium and compressed air.Do you think this is feasible and even safe.Just to say, When I say using the same concept, I'm not saying I want to get the same exact high bounce that the ball has(75ft) but just enough to bring a new experience to the table, and something unique.what do you think? Is this in anyway feasible, and if so would it be safe? And if you have heard of anything Similar, has it worked out? [link] [comments] |
