How to get rid of .0886 of a share??

    Posted: 26 Apr 2018 08:59 AM PDT

Had a limit sell order and ended up with a dividend reinvestment just before the order triggered. I sold all my whole shares, now I have this ridiculous .0886 of a share in $BDX. Am I now the owner of this partial share forever? My account is with Schwab.

If FB beat EPS estimates and actually increased its user base for the quarter - after the Analytica bonanza, does that mean SHOP should bounce up after the Andrew Left showdown.

PayPal (PYPL) earnings and future outlook (discussion)

    Posted: 25 Apr 2018 06:47 PM PDT

What do you guys think of this stock and why? I believe PayPal is going to remain a huge growth stock because of a few reasons mainly:

    1. It's has been and most likely will remain the most (or one of) used mobile wallet/online payment method in the United States. I use it and literally everyone I know, except for my grandparents, also use it frequently.
    2. It's international and constantly expanding into potential markets like India
    3. It's acquiring a lot of its competitors
    4. It has beaten growth expectations ever since they split from eBay
    5. It's not a "winner-take-all" scenario with online/mobile payment methods. PayPal is not only the current leader but the most "agnostic"-meaning you don't have to own an Apple/Android product or be a member of a certain bank/social media outlet to utilize their services.

Here's some quick and easy good reads:

Can someone explain to me how options trading works?

    Posted: 25 Apr 2018 04:52 PM PDT

I understand a little bit. I bought a sho7rt call on AMD last night because I predicted earnings were going to go well. Well, it is quite bullish now, but my call is worth very little now, about 40% down since I bought it. Why? I thought if you bought it and the stock increased in price that it would increase in value? I've been trading for a couple years but have never tried options

    Questions about buying options

    Posted: 26 Apr 2018 09:12 AM PDT

I know a lot of before usually say you shouldn't buy something that you don't understand. That's why I'm posting my questions here before I proceed to buy any call options.

Let's use $MSFT as an example. Their will have their ER after market closed and I believe it will go up after a good beat.

I'm currently looking at this option: https://imgur.com/a/9bi6hBh

The break even price is $97.34 which mean if the price doesn't get there or over, I will not be making any profit right?

Let's say if the price did reach over the break even price. And it's now residing at $98. How would I be able to sell my call assuming that why would anyone want to buy a call option that is lower than the current price.

Besides keeping note of Expiration date and Break even price. What else should I be on the look out for?

Any suggestions and recommendations would be appreciated.

When is your preference to buy / sell?

    Posted: 26 Apr 2018 12:57 PM PDT

Personally I've been thinking to buy or sell half of my stocks if my portfolio grows / shrinks by 5% within a month period. I'd keep half my stocks as a buffer in a company in case I was wrong for a fallback.

What are your general personal rules?

Ford Earnings Call Beats Estimates by $.02

    Posted: 25 Apr 2018 02:39 PM PDT

Pretty great earnings report considering all the negative sales news out lately (China/Europe/US). What's most intriguing, however, is Fords claims to increase EBIT by 40% in the next 2 years and their groundbreaking shift in vehicle production in the same timeframe. Ford is headed in a very different direction. Interesting opportunity for long term investors in my book...

where does smart money get funnelled to?

    Posted: 26 Apr 2018 12:29 AM PDT

If smart money are now selling their stocks, where are they funnelling the money to? Is it just as simple as bonds? Increase cash holdings? I'd assume they cant liquidate all their holdings.. for example institutional investors - if the market does have a downturn, wouldn't they just have to tough it out?
