Posted: 03 Aug 2021 10:42 PM PDT So I'm opening a beauty salon and I'm stumped on a name. I want it to be _______ Beauty Bar. Preferably starting with the letter B but I just need cool words that sound catchy that would flow well. I can't think of anything that I love. I've googled words but nothing stands out to me. So far my front runners are "Bangin' Beauty Bar" and "Bling Beauty Bar" I just don't love either. Any ideas help and it doesn't HAVE to start with a B necessarily, I just need some cool ideas and I'm desperate. Please help!! [link] [comments] |
How would I go about setting up a online gambling business ? Posted: 04 Aug 2021 01:54 AM PDT I assume I would need to obtain a gambling licence as well as secure a good solicitor, I currently have 100k to start up with but feel I would need more money for the right amount of promotion and advertisement. Would I need to do this via a bank loan? With a good business plan in place? Also, I am unsure of how gambling companies stay afloat if you are paying out sums of money to winners how do you account for this? I am a complete novice to this as you have already guessed but I am keen to learn so any pointers would be helpful. I am not going to be the next 365 but would like to have a stab at it. Question about Blizzard Entertainment's leadership change Posted: 03 Aug 2021 09:55 PM PDT Apparently J. Allan Brack, Blizzard's now former President, has stepped down and been replaced by two co-leaders over the last 24 hours. I am also told that Mr. Brack is the last of the company's founding members, to act as one of its' leaders. I wanted to ask anyone who is familiar with the culture or politics of a number of different corporations, what (if any) the effects of that usually are? If a company has previously only been run by people who have been there since the beginning, and then starts being led by outsiders, does that normally have consequences of any kind? I would appreciate any analysis of this which anyone is willing to offer, as I'm sure others would as well. Thank you in advance. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Aug 2021 10:14 AM PDT I am posting this as transparently as I possible can, to hopefully help others also learn based on what the community feedback is. I am sure many decide to go into employment shares schemes, such as options, without understanding how to ask the right questions to your employer, or how to know if the deal laid forward is good or not. This includes myself. I recently joined a small startup, with a 3 person team and a load of consultants. I have absolutely been enjoying my time here, and I am now offered a full-time position. Please note that the median salary for a similar position as the one I'm offered is about 65K/year. The company has existed for a few years now, and we are about to expand abroad. The company is built up from the bootstrapping and is also looking to source investments this fall. Most likely 1M for a 10-15M valuation. I have been offered two deals:
My honest thought is that the company is worth 20-70M in 3 years time. What do you guys think? Could you help me calculate the potential upside/downside. Should I give a counter offer? ANY advice is much appreciated, I promised to give an answer back in 48 hours. EDIT: What should I consider when it comes to dilution? [link] [comments] |
Distributed models and consolidation — politics and jockeying for power Posted: 03 Aug 2021 01:12 PM PDT I just came to a realization. Every big company seems to have this ebb and flow of consolidation every 3-5 years where they'll move towards a consolidated model or to a distributed model. Whichever model is the current mode is broken and wrong and moving to the other mode will save money or time or give a better customer experience. This is all shenanigans. In reality, consolidated or distributive models are just ways for executives to jockey for power (usually after a more powerful executive has joined or left the company). The reason these always occur in 3-5 year cycles is that's the commonly accepted time for a high level executive to stick around in most modern corporations. TLDR: Reorganizations to consolidate or distribute effort are just ways existing execs jockey for power after other execs leave or join the company. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Aug 2021 01:11 PM PDT (This was the best sub i could think to post this in) Went to a nail salon yesterday, and when it was time to pay, i pulled out my card. The lady at the desk asked me if i had cashapp instead..and i told her no, so the other lady charged my card with their card reader. I noticed there was a stack of papers with what looked like their profits/expenses and stuff like that so im just wondering, could they be trying to avoid taxes or something by asking me to do cashapp? I feel like it was unprofessional of them to ask, and they arent a new business, they have been open for 10+ years Just curious what anyone thinks of this [link] [comments] |
