Social selling has changed the game for me Posted: 31 Jul 2021 03:57 AM PDT A few months back I started posting on LinkedIn and a few other platforms.. More recently I've started to get some real traction on my posts, hundreds sometimes thousands of engagements. I sell salestech so my ICP is typically a SaaS VP of Sales, often very active on LinkedIn. What this has meant is often during cycles my customers reference my content and people have started asking me for demos on LinkedIn. This week we've even had people start requesting demos from the site and specIfically asking for me to be their rep in their form. I've won deals this month I had no business winning, and I account a lot of that to clout. What content allows us to do is build relationships with new prospects and continue to develop relationships with those in the pipeline even when we're not on a call. Genius. I highly encourage salespeople to get busy on social as you never know when platforms like LinkedIn will start to die off. Consistency is key! Hmu if you have any questions! [link] [comments] |
Feel like sales is making me grow up too fast Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:03 AM PDT Hey guys I've been in insurance sales for about 2 months. I'm currently a 20 year old college student about to start their junior year. All the people I work with are in their 30s and 40s and all the referral relationships we build from realtors and mortgage people are mostly in their 30s and 40s. I ask this question because I feel like all the people around my age just go to school and wanna smoke or drink or just waste time. I kinda miss just being a student around campus. Any advice or thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Would you go into sales if you could do it all over again? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:47 AM PDT Hi all, I'm a 29 year old CPA who works in financial services tax and consulting. My plan in college was to do 2 years in public accounting then leave for a sales job. Here I am 6 years in and still wonder if I should make the switch. Overall I think I have it pretty good…my comp has consistently gone up 8% each year, I get a 6% 401K match, they pay for my country club membership, cell phone, etc. My peak time is January through April when I work about 60-70 hours a week. End up working about 2400-2500 hours total per year. Despite everything above, I struggle because I'm not detail oriented and I'm all about building relationships. As I go up it gets better on the detail side but now it's more of a juggling act trying to bring in new clients, do my day to day work, then manage my jobs with no team because our turnover at the staff level is so high. This brings me to my question, if you could do it over again would you go into sales? Any advice for someone in my shoes? [link] [comments] |
How do you actually build rapport? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 11:48 AM PDT Hey. I'm starting my first B2B sales job on Monday. Shout out to this subreddit. I'm not an attractive guy, I have a nasally voice and I'm not the popular guy. What needs to happen for me to succeed? I will send LinkedIn requests, emails and phone calls to schedule appointments. Posted: 31 Jul 2021 11:14 AM PDT I currently work for a CBD company with the most brick and mortar locations in the US. Our product is nearly exclusively found in our stores. We have a very high quality product that we have won awards for and our combined sales for 9 stores this year is around 3.5 million. I'm saying this because I know this is a great brand and a great company. I'm wondering about taking it other places. I want to go to doctors, nursing homes, chiropractors, etc. I've already established some interest from places like this. My question is how legal is this? Is it okay to take my product to places like nursing homes and sell it there. I don't plan on showing up. I plan on offering a free presentation about CBD along with samples and also bringing along products to sell. I know my product well. Any advice or helpful criticism is appreciated [link] [comments] |
What is the best accredited sales training course? Posted: 30 Jul 2021 10:39 PM PDT I was looking into Dale Carnegie's sales course since How to Win Friends and Influence People is one of my all-time favourite books. [link] [comments] |
What's the best book you've read about Customer Success Management? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 04:53 AM PDT I have been working in Marketing for the past ten years, and I'm now looking into Customer Success. Any advice on books I could read about CSM? [link] [comments] |
Sales trainings. What is best - short or long? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 03:32 AM PDT Hey, guys, I'm new here and I have a dilemma. I have to lead a sales training (I'm not gonna promote it here , don't worry - my username is not connected to it either) but I have been receiving mixed opinions on how long it should be. I'm torn between making it 14 days or 21 days. Some people like the shorter version because they don't have a lot of time, but others prefer longer , because it gives them more information. Which one would you advise me to do? 😱 Also if you could give me any tips or cool trainings for inspo, I would really appreciate it! Cheers and have a nice day 🤗 [link] [comments] |
First sales appointment of my career on Wednesday. Posted: 31 Jul 2021 10:52 AM PDT The last two weeks I quit hospitality all together and got hired in with a roofing company as a roof advisor. My first appointment is on Wednesday. Any tips from the pros? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2021 10:06 AM PDT What is your preferred way of making deals? Is it email, sms, phone calls, custom portal (E.g through Alibaba to give a perspective)? [link] [comments] |
What's the suicide rate in B2B SaaS Sales in America? Posted: 30 Jul 2021 01:44 PM PDT |
Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:46 AM PDT Hi there. What are the next sales books in your opinion? Really needing some help upping my game. Thank you [link] [comments] |
Switching from content marketing to sales Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:23 AM PDT I've worked my way up in content marketing for the past decade, and now run an editorial team for a $1b+ market cap SaaS company. I'm proud of the work I've done, but I also am starting to realize that content marketing is a young person's game. (Not many content marketing leaders in their 50s, and I worry I'll be "How do you do Fellow Kids"-ing my way through social media strategy here in a few years.) Branching out to sales feels like an interesting challenge, but given my background on the editorial side (as in, lots of writing, less interpersonal communication) I'm not sure what particular niche of sales would be a natural fit. Any advice? I'm intimately familiar with positioning and selling SaaS products with long sales cycles, but just behind the curtain instead of in front of it. [link] [comments] |
Can you get an SDR job without LinkedIn? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 12:42 AM PDT I ask because my work history has been nothing but job hopping in various customer service roles. Longest job being 4 months. So I'm worried that if I make a profile, and try to reach out to people for an SDR position, they'll reject me after looking at my work section [link] [comments] |
Closing my small business to go into sales? What to sell?? Posted: 30 Jul 2021 10:35 PM PDT Hi there. I currently own a small landscaping and hauling company but I'm just exhausted. I market, sell, manage, and physically complete jobs! Not to toot my own horn but I close jobs pretty good. The stress is just not equal to the reward ratio even though it's one of my best years.. i could tough it out but I'm pretty over it. I finished a 3500 dollar job yesterday and finishing a 2k job tomorrow(not all profit...).. I'm thinking of what to sell if I leave my business. I am thinking roofing or solar since it is so similar to my selling style already...I'm taking a real estate course online right now but I just haven't had time to study.......I'd be open to sell tech or medical commodities but not sure if it's realistic with my resume and no college...selling cars and insurance do not sound fun...I just want to make good money so I can invest into the future...any tips or opinions appreciated!! Tough it out or get a sales job. If so what kind? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2021 06:46 AM PDT I'm looking to work for a small company within the near future, the size of a start up. I'm coming from a stable, reliable, large corporation and have some concerns about payment. Now nothing has happened, but what are some recommendations you have when it comes to starting at a small company?

From Fixed Salary to Base + Commission Posted: 31 Jul 2021 06:16 AM PDT Looking for advice on how to compare opportunities. I currently make a fixed salary at my job. Considering another opportunity that is based on OTE (base + comission). The base is around 10k less than my current salary but OTE is about 15k above my salary. How do I compare a fixed salary to a job to one with base, commission, and bonus? [link] [comments] |
Did 3 weeks work for a company in July as an independent contractor, I have a question. Posted: 31 Jul 2021 06:13 AM PDT When discussing the invoice, I asked if I should send the number of days and what it is equivalent to (never done this before) and the CEO simply said "you dont need to list days as its a fixed monthly salary". Does this mean I should just bill him for the whole month? Or should I charge 3/4 of the amount without listing days? [link] [comments] |
Usage of Videos within an email for a sales pitch Posted: 31 Jul 2021 01:40 AM PDT Hi guys! I'm trying to get in as a consultant for a company that is providing tools for sales and marketing teams. My question is, what is your opinion on using videos within emails that you are sending out to your leads (or a possible lead)? It can be anything, like company/product introduction, a sales pitch, educational, support assistance. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Jul 2021 11:11 PM PDT My team really pulled it out of their ass this month and I am really proud. But I need to get better at coaching because this is our seasonal down time and I feel like a broken record. Sales training is great and I would appreciate any suggestions there. I also think any stellar sports coaching books would help too for the pump up factor. Thanks all. [link] [comments] |
