Posted: 04 Jul 2021 01:31 AM PDT Hello, I am applying for my own Insurance policy soon (yay!) as I am getting my first new car (double yay!). However, when I am submitting my application. It asks for previous accidents and moving violations (usually within last 5 years). I had an unfortunate encounter with a telephone pole and was cited for exceeding safe speed and for expired license (long story). Additionally, about 2 years prior I was cited with failure to yield at a red light. My Lawyer got both of these dismissed and I never admitted fault. I obviously need to report the accident, but do I need to report the dismissed citations on my insurance application? I want to be completely honest but I'm not sure how to proceed here. Thank you so much for any help you can provide! EDIT: apologies for the confusion, I am in NC, USA [link] [comments] |
Airlift ambulance after crash : What's should I do next ? Posted: 03 Jul 2021 03:40 PM PDT I got into a car crash . This was a rental car and is totaled. Thankfully all the 4 passengers are doing fine and escaped with some minor injuries. Car has been towed by a local towing company. One of the passengers got evicted and according to the protocols had to airlifted using helicopter to nearby hospital. Question: All 4 passengers have primary health insurance. I'm not sure how much would the airlift ambulance cost come out to be. I tried calling them but couldn't due to weekend. Searching online, I see that cost could be as steep as 40k USD! What should be the next steps ? Thanks! Edit: location was in Washington. Details: The car went off the road and there was no shoulder. I was the driver. I managed to brake and stop the car but car was damaged badly. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Jul 2021 09:36 PM PDT please give me your thoughts on the outcome of this situation. today i was tboned while doing about 45 mph, the other driver was simply not paying attention. she was very sweet, but put me in a horrible situation not to mention hurt me. I own a 2012 Jeep liberty sport with 135,000 miles, the dealership in which i purchased it from disclosed a prior accident, but did not vocalize it had a rebuilt/salvaged title, now after 20,000 miles and jeep issues i'm around 10k in the hole with this vehicle. i believe they will total it out considering the entire chassis is bent check link for detailed videos/pictures, every door frame shows signs of stress bends from absorbing the impact. I managed to drive my knee into my dash casing pain in my knee, hip and lower back. also have a ringing in one ear. just wondering how i go about getting medical attention and documenting it properly so it can be added to my claim. Car insurance write off payout Posted: 03 Jul 2021 09:12 PM PDT Hey guys hopefully this is the right thread to post this on. So in about 2 days im going to get an offer on my 2011 subaru impreza 2.5i that I wrote off. I understand that the settlement is an offer and that I can counteroffer. I have my sales person helping me from subaru to create a case if I think the settlement price is too low. Is there anything I should think about or that I should do that could help out my side? Any knowledge or insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! (Im from Ontario Canada btw if that helps) [link] [comments] |
Auto Insurance for Recent Grad About to Spend a Year Abroad Posted: 03 Jul 2021 06:53 PM PDT Hello, the title is self-explanatory, and I live in Missouri USA which has a requirement to have liability coverage. I'm going abroad to Europe to study for a Master's in two months with no intention of using my car for that year. Do insurances allow for coverage for just two months, or suspend the coverage? From what I'm seeing, it seems insurances require a 6 month commitment. I'm not sure if it's better to register for new coverage or to suspend and resume after I return (if that's even possible). Thanks! [link] [comments] |
[Question] Claiming car insurance? Posted: 03 Jul 2021 05:48 PM PDT My partner got in a car accident a few weeks ago. We reported that to the insurance. Today while backing out, she crashed into our garage (damaging the house / car). Nobody else was involved. Should we claim insurance again or pay out of pocket for the damages? My gut says it's $5k - $10K of damages. If she does trigger the policy, do we run the risk of her being dropped from the car policy? Would love any guidance to determine how we should think about this to make an appropriate decision. Thank you for the help! [link] [comments] |
Insuring an electric moped/motorcycle (in a gray zone) Posted: 03 Jul 2021 04:04 PM PDT Hello insurance-intelligent people! I recently purchased an Onyx RCR, an electric "moped" that sits in a gray area between ebike, moped, and motorcycle. Link included below. I'm looking for tips on approaching getting it inspired in the state of Arkansas, but would be appreciative of advice from any state. The bike comes with an MCO, frame number (no VIN), hub motor number, and a bill of sale (on request from the company). I'm hoping to use it to its fullest, as a motorcycle license holder, and hoping to insure and register it as a motorcycle as well. 🤞Thanks for any advice! [link] [comments] |
