Is there a way to make outgoing calls show up on caller id as business number?

We recently had an employee that has to contact clients before they come in to collect information. It helps streamline the process and give us a heads up for what we are dealing with. However, she is currently calling from her cell phone which shows up as an area code across the country, and no one is picking it up thinking it is spam.

My question: is there a way to have our business number show up as the number she is calling from? Our current system is super complicated so it would have to be like an app or something, and wouldn't be able to switch services. Let me know if anyone has any ideas!

    Lead generation

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 07:11 AM PDT

    Hello Everyone,

I started a few a small businesses in my day, but this is the first time diving into a startup that needs to drive some traction prior to launch. For context, I'm starting a Influencer marketing platform that will let the brand and influencer seamlessly come together and hash out all that needs to be done. We will facilitate the contract between both parties so there is a level of safety and also provide KPI tracking to the brand, so they can see how the influencer helped their business.

So enough about that, I'm trying to keep marketing cost as low as possible, preferable $0 acquisition cost for leads. Can anyone give me some strategies to gain leads without marketing funds?

Just starting out and I have an EIN

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 06:43 AM PDT

I consider myself for the most part a hobby artist I take commissions sometimes but it is not my main source of income.

I made an EIN a couple years back to table at a convention but it got canceled due to the pandemic.

What do I do with the EIN? I've made $0 dollars on it since I just started doing commissions again so I haven't touched it. I'm trying to understand the perks of keeping the account since the income I'd get is sort of sporadic.

Also, side question I did a commision for a university for less than $400 and they are requesting my EIN or SSN on tax forms. Is this common practice for doing work with a company?

    Thanks!

    Support small business

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 06:18 AM PDT

For the first time ever, I decided to support a small business that started offering baked foods. I can say that I am very happy, and I now will always try to support small business. I got a big thank you, a smile, and a lot of positive energy from the small business owner. Now, these words don't describe how happy I got, but, if you try supporting some just once, you'll hopefully feel like I do.

    Appreciate reading my post.

Questions re: hiring headhunters / recruiters

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 06:09 AM PDT

Hey all, I'm helping my friend (a recruiter) grow her small business as a student project for my UX portfolio. I've done some research, but I'm stuck on a few questions for small biz owners.

If you've hired a recruiter to fill a job before, I'd appreciate getting your thoughts on some of these. Many thanks for any insights you can provide!

    • When you think about hiring recruiters to fill a role at your company...
      • What qualities do you usually look for? (i.e. experience, personality, process, etc.)
      • How much do testimonials / placement rate matter?
    • If a recruiter has also been a job search coach to candidates, does that make you more, less, or as likely to want to work with them? Why so / why not?
    • Assuming they hire the type of candidates you're looking for, would you prefer to work with a specific recruiter, or would you instead reach out to a company of recruiters for help? And why?

    Newbie here: website creation/questions

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 05:55 AM PDT

Hi there, first time posting so let me know if I break a rule. I'm trying to start up my paving business and I just want to make a website and include my portfolio, business details, a way of contact and to have it show up in Google if searched for specifically by name. I know there are costs to having a website but I'm willing to pay to build one myself with those ideas. I have a lot of ideas and media ready to upload but I'd like a place to put them. I'm based in Australia.
