Considering Selling my Niche store, best place to post?

    Posted: 28 May 2021 01:06 AM PDT

    Hi,

So I'm considering selling my Niche Clothing store I've been running as a side hustle since 2019, Empire valued it at 12k and flippa at between 5k-7k.

I am just very unsure where would be the best place to advertise the sale as Flippa can be...dodgy.

Anyone have any tips or experience with this?

    Thanks in advance

    Online payments

    Posted: 27 May 2021 03:11 PM PDT

I've had my business for about 9 months, it's still small and growing. It's a service business. I am looking for online payment options since the majority of my clients prefer it. I only see a bunch of fees with that though and since the business is new-ish and only getting $60-80 per client the fees will eat up profit. I was looking at Zelle, but my credit union isn't a member. I am also looking at Venmo.

Are there other online payment apps that don't have fees?

Edit: What is a good rate? Wave? Venmo?

What Are The Most Interesting Ways You've Landed A Client

    Posted: 27 May 2021 06:11 PM PDT

I'm so excited to announce that not only did I land my next SEO client, but I'm also glad to say it came from one of these communities right here on Reddit. A while back I posted about how my client was doing well and starting to land leads every single month through the use of SEO and GMB tactics, now this post was actually made to help me out and I actually used it to ask a few questions of my own such as where to go from there. I didn't expect anyone to be interested in my services but I got a message from someone who seemed rather interested. We talked for a while on reddit and I showed them some results, and after a while I offered them a free digital marketing attack plan. They watched it through and were thrilled with the process and potential results. One thing lead to another and now here we are with both a website redesign and SEO work. I'm so excited and thankful for all of you guys and it goes to show you never know whos watching or reading your post. I'm also glad to see people online taking care of one another so once again thank you all for all the help and support.

How is your business phone setup? Need a solution

    Posted: 27 May 2021 11:09 PM PDT

I'm running my business of a cellphone that I answer 90% of the time. I have work from home employees that would be capable of running the phones, but I've got no idea how to structure it.

How do I keep the mobile phone number and allow somebody working from home to answer it on their personal phone? Is there a way I can setup a toll free number? Maybe a virtual secretary? A lot of customers have pretty specific questions and it takes a lot of phone time for me when I run ad campaigns, most of which is fruitless. The real business is coming online.

I am trying to make myself redundant, and I don't know the best way to figure this out. Can you guys help with some of your work-from-home phone solutions for your business? Appreciate any help.

    Business Grants or forgivable loans?

    Posted: 27 May 2021 09:25 PM PDT

Didn't get a response last time. So I'll rephrase It. I'm looking to see if there is any business grants, for small business (minorities). I can prove cash flow, just things that I need and don't have. It's a handyman service. A grant would help me scale my business, advertise, and higher an employee.

Wondering about viability of lawn care business using robotic mowers

    Posted: 27 May 2021 09:01 PM PDT

I've been thinking about a lawn care company that uses robotic mowers to offer a cheaper option than human labor... I can't find much to indicate this is already happening but it seems so obvious I assume there's some drawback. Does anyone have any experience using robotic mowers? Are they just too slow to offer a competitive advantage at this time?

How do I get a starting loan for my business?

    Posted: 27 May 2021 07:59 PM PDT

I am looking for a loan of $30,000 to start my business in an official capacity. It is a metalworks manufacturing company that does special orders. The problem I keep running into while looking for a loan is that I don't have a salaried job or regular job (so I can't put down monthly income from employment) and I don't have a credit score (I've never bought anything on credit or owned a credit card). I am a former engineer and I've been making a living working directly for people, doing skilled trade jobs, carpentry, and computer work. I don't have any assets like a house or car to put up for collateral either.

I am more than ready to start this business because I found a market of people that want my services and have told me directly they are willing to pay a lot for it. The issue is that where I am, zoning laws require me to operate from a select number of parcels. I found a lease for one but it is going to cost $9000. When I calculate my costs of day-to-day business, taxes, licensing, shipping, materials, equipment, payroll, other overhead, and projected sales to the current list of 200+ people waiting for me to take their orders, I can pay back $30,000 before the end of the year. That is even with the two employees I plan to hire.

Where can I get a loan for this? I already have the legal entity and bank account set up. This is not a personal loan. I am in a unique position given my location and past experience to make this a successful business. Tech startups look for investors, but I only need one loan.

    Employee bonuses

    Posted: 27 May 2021 06:24 PM PDT

I own a small business with seven employees. What do you do to keep employees motivated? I am thinking of quarterly bonuses based on a percentage of profit? Or maybe a percentage of their wage since they are all paid differently?

    optimizing customer experience is key?

    Posted: 27 May 2021 06:20 PM PDT

Ikea for example is a fun and soothing buying experience for young families and students, plus they meet their high priority needs of easy to transport furniture, and affordable & good looking products.

If you can make the customer experience fulfill your customers high priority needs, plus make the experience ultra satisfying that is the key?

Whichever businesses can find an open opportunity and create a more satisfying solution tends to excel?

    Influencer Impersonation

    Posted: 27 May 2021 05:23 PM PDT

    Hello,

I run a small keyboard peripheral company and recently sent out a few products to what seemed like a known influencer. I realized I didn't do enough digging and found out I sent free merchandise to a fraud. I have the individuals address but that's it as he used his YouTube as a fake name. Is there anything I can do to get these products back? Can I bill the address? I feel so stupid at the moment.

Package Insurance For Same-Day Delivery Partner

    Posted: 27 May 2021 06:47 PM PDT

Hello everyone! I'm not sure if you all have heard of Roadie, but it is an amazing app that allows same-day delivery. I myself am a driver, and it's comparable in pricing to UPS for small packages going short distances but you get same-day delivery instead of next-day delivery.

Anyways, I'm posting today to see if there is a way I can properly insure packages if I want to deliver items to customers with Roadie. According to Roadie's terms of use, they offer package insurance for as much as $50,000 or so (when using UPS Capital), but they do not cover used electronics. Most of the electronics I sell are brand new, and would be covered no problem, the only exception are laptops that I refurbish. I have formally reached out to Roadie but they have yet to get back to me (they are very poor at replying to emails, and phone support isn't really for B2B relations).

Someone told me in a Roadie Facebook group you can get shipments covered under your standard business insurance policy. Is this true? Like some sort of endorsement or add-on to liability insurance? If anybody knows how to go about this I'd really appreciate it.

    Some questions for boutique owners

    Posted: 27 May 2021 06:36 PM PDT

    Hi,

I'm working on an online platform that helps brick and mortar boutiques (shops that sell clothing, accessories, gifts etc) expand their online customer reach. Would really appreciate if the boutique owners here can help answer some questions for me. 1. Do you have an e-commerce site? If so how much sales do you do online vs in store? According to my research the numbers vary greatly between big cities and small ones so please include if you're in a major metropolitan area or small town. 1.5 If you don't have an e-commerce site, why not? 2. What aspects of e-commerce you find most frustrating? 3. What do you like about the e-commerce side your business? 4. How much do you spend on the site each month? Hosting fee, Shopify or other membership and add-ons, marketing etc.

    Thanks a bunch!!

    Huge life decision

    Posted: 27 May 2021 07:53 AM PDT

Alright I am at a crossroads that will have a large impact on my finances and life overall. So I currently work a job that's very easy, I work from home and it's flexible during the day and allows a lot of freedom. I make low 6 figures at that job however I don't enjoy it though and it's a dead end with really no possibility of growth. So I am looking to make a career change and I currently have 2 paths I need to choose from and I'm really struggling. The first is to continue at this job for the mean time while I study for the LSAT, I believe I can be successful at the LSAT and get into law school in 2022, once I get accepted I would then leave my current job to do school full time. The risk here is that I don't perform well enough to get into law school but I at least have my job to fall back on. The second path is I have the opportunity to open a franchise in a prime location that I believe will be successful, for this route I would quit my current job in the next few months and focus on growing and nurturing that business. The risk here of course is the business doesn't work out, which I believe is a very small chance but still there and then I don't have my 6 figure job to fall back on. I would plan to study for the LSAT and pursue the law degree with the second path as well it would just be pushed till the businesses up and running steady.

The franchise first then law school seems to be the smart move to me just because once I get the business to a point where I don't need to be there everyday I would have a source of income while going to school. Or if the franchise is super successful then I could just focus on growing that.

Background on me: 32 yrs old, net worth about $850k, wife makes about $75-80k a year. We can cover all bills on wife's pay and I also have military guard to fall back on if I really needed a job and could make about $50k a year full time there.

Its hard to take that leap and walk away from a cushy job to go into the unknown but it's something I have always wanted to do and feel like I will kick myself in 10 yrs if I don't take the opportunity in front of me. I guess what I'm looking for is people who maybe made took that leap and what your thoughts are looking back.

Can anyone recommend web hosting ?

    Posted: 27 May 2021 09:03 PM PDT

    Hello,

I am starting a hvac company in Kentucky. Can anyone recommend a web hosting service that also hosts email? While I know that I need a website to promote my company, I would much rather have a "me@myhvac.com" rather than "me@gmail.com" with it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Frankly all of the info that I can find online looks like a bunch of advertisements.
