Introduction into the world of business Posted: 02 May 2021 06:52 PM PDT Hello everyone. I am looking for some guidance to jumó into the business world. My passion is fashion and would love to start a clothing line. I live in a relatively small town in PA right outside of the big city of Philadelphia. I have a lot of friends from all types of backgrounds and am pretty well known in small town, I say this in the most humble way possible, but I have great ideas that I'd love to put in to play. As for the clothing line I don't know how to actually start it lol. Would I need an LLC? How do I find out if the name I'm interested in using is already trademarked? What are the chances of someone on the other side of the country catching a glimpse of my work and deciding to file a law suit because I made some ignorant mistake? I just don't know how to actually start a "business"... my brother in law has an LLC right now and he's a contractor. I work as a landscaper and my boss could potentially give me some advice on things to watch out for when starting a business. A friend of mine has been seeing great success with his clothing line but I feel as if I could do better, he would also be a good contact. Figured I could take it to the world of Reddit first though. So please feel free to school me in the comments [link] [comments] |

Are shares valued pre or post merger Posted: 02 May 2021 11:42 AM PDT Let's say there are two companies, each worth $1,000,000. Company A will be acquiring company B. The combined value we'll say is a straight $2,000,000. In this deal, company B will sell for 10% of it's current value ($100,000) in Company A stock, and 90% in cash. 10% of Company A pre-merger is $100,000 also. A straight trade it would seem. However, the second after the merger that 10% doubles in value to $200,000. This means Company B receives a massive premium. Is that normal, or would the $100,000 normally be based on the post merger value, which would be a 5% ratio, which results in the original expected purchase price? Remember in this scenario, the 10% is not an agreement for the total shares in the post merger or even pre merger company. It represents a set dollar amount of the purchase price ($100,000) that is too be paid in shares of equivalent price in the acquiring company. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 May 2021 01:48 PM PDT I am 14. I hate listening to people and being told what to do and when I'm older i don't want to work under people. I am a very lazy person and play games all day and don't know what to do. I want to make a business and be my own boss and enjoy life. What do i do from this age? I have no business plans in mind and i don't want to live the rest of my life being worse than others. My dream isn't clear but what can i do to make it clear? [link] [comments] |

Help - no idea how to set up a referral program Posted: 02 May 2021 09:21 AM PDT I am thinking of starting a referral program for my newsletter but even after researching the topic I just can't figure out how to set it up. From what I understand I need to subscribe to some sort of referral program like ReferralCandy or SparkLoop to create referral codes. But what about the rewards? I would like to have a mix of digital/physical rewards, i.e., maybe an exclusive community or ebook for digital and stickers, mugs, and tote bags for physical. For the physical rewards, do I need to batch order them to my home and then mail them out to each subscriber that reaches the goal manually? Or is there a way to automate the process (i.e., when a person reaches the goal they automatically receive the reward without my input)? Any help at all would be appreciated! [link] [comments] |

in a business plan what would you write for “opportunities in the marketplace”? Posted: 02 May 2021 02:07 PM PDT for example if you were planning on selling products and showing a business plan to investors, can you give any examples of what your explanation for "opportunities" would be in a business plan? Girlfriend is working for my business while in school. Best way to pay her? Posted: 02 May 2021 01:26 PM PDT My long term girlfriend is going back to school for her masters. She was planning on working a PT gig while in school, however her help in my business would be significantly more lucrative for me and much much more flexible for her. Originally the plan was she'd do some work for me and I'd cover all of the housing and food expenses. I'd like to go beyond that and find a way to directly pay her as well. My first thought was to have her set up a sole proprietorship or llc and have her bill me for her time as a contractor. This would allow me to transfer some of my wealth to her as well as allow her to setup an individual 401k and start putting money away for retirement. Is there any downside here? Is there any better options I'm missing? PLEASE avoid any discussion of working for a partner being a bad idea or anything of that nature. We are significantly committed to each other and do a lot of difficult joint projects together. This will not be an issue. [link] [comments] |

Is my signature "style" as important as it was 20 years ago? Posted: 02 May 2021 08:34 AM PDT Over the past few months, I've been signing more and more documents, whether it be a contract or a letter. What I've been wondering is, does my signature "look" still matter as much as it did say 20 years ago? I've put some effort into my signature to make it look "good" but not something that takes me more than a second or two to write, but when looking at other people's signatures mine looks legible, but still "messy." Is this something I should care a whole lot about, or should I focus my energy on other things? Curious to know your thoughts. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 May 2021 05:56 AM PDT Hey my name is Gal. I've had an idea for an app that I know for a fact will work, as theres a paid app for it that people are going mad about. I thought about doing the same concept for free with some monetization going on. I have the whole idea planned out but I got to several road blocks and would love to hear your guys opinions and if anyone of you guys had launched their apps, I'd love some guidance. Firstly I wanted to know wheres the best place to get someone to make the app and isnt it risky? Cant they just take the app I paid them to make and publish it as their own? (Altough I paid for it) Secondly I was wondering how do I get an app on the app store? How does ad monetizing works? How do I make in app subscriptions work? I'm so confused😅 Lastly I wanted to know what a general road map I need to follow and the steps I need to do before publishing the app to the public? Any help is very much appreciated!
