Searching for new clients. Any tips? Posted: 05 May 2021 02:02 PM PDT Hello, dear Redditors! I hope I can find a piece of advice here. I've recently received a small business from my parents. It is a small logistics company, and I see an opportunity to expand the business. I want you to help me with the marketing strategy decision and probably give me a piece of advice to expand this business. A bit about the company: as I mentioned above, it is a logistic company. We provide goods delivery services across different states of the US. Sometimes, we also deliver goods to Canada and Mexico. We have our own fleet of trucks. At the moment, we have only 5 trucks left. We had to cut down the number of trucks and fire staff members to get out of the crises. I've been working with my parents in this industry for a while. I know the current situation on the market. I know that many businesses faced some difficulties during the pandemic, and a lot of companies had to shut down. Meanwhile, we were able to survive. Besides, I know that on the market there is still demand our services. But we are struggling to find new clients. Unfortunately for me, my parents worked with a limited number of companies. During the pandemic, approximately 60% of our clients stopped operating. So, we lost some part of our profit too. I think of looking for new clients. I want to invest in B2B marketing, and hopefully, it will help me get new clients. Meanwhile, a lot of people suggest I do cold calling and search for clients this way. I've seen many companies searching for clients this way, but I cannot say that it brings the desired result. Another friend suggested that I promote my services online and hire an SEO company to get my website to the Google top search. He also sends me this link for more info - https://www.searchbloom.com/national-seo/. Honestly, I've never tried promoting a company this way. What do you think about SEO? Is it worth investing in it? Or is it better to do cold calling? [link] [comments] |

China Suspends Economic Dialogue With Australia Amid Tensions Posted: 05 May 2021 08:25 PM PDT China announced that it was suspending a regular economic dialogue with Australia, in a move intended to signal Beijing's growing frustration with Canberra. The National Development and Reform Commission said in a statement Thursday it was indefinitely halting all activities under the China-Australia Strategic Economic Dialogue. The move comes after Australia's decision last month to cancel agreements between the Belt and Road Initiative and the Victoria state government. Some Australian government officials took action to disrupt the normal exchanges and cooperation between China and Australia out of a "Cold War mindset" and ideological discrimination, the NDRC said. The Australian dollar fell sharply against the greenback on the news. — With assistance by Brendan Scott, Jing Jin, Jing Li, and Rebecca Jones [link] [comments] |

The Companies Who Are Reluctant to Submit a W9 Form To the Bankruptcy Court. Why? Posted: 06 May 2021 01:24 AM PDT I read sometimes that there are companies who have filed a claim with a bankruptcy court and have been asked (by the bankruptcy trustee) to submit a Form W9 ("Request for Taxpayer Identification and Certification") before their check can be issued. Because of the company's failure to submit the Form W9, the checks are not issued. Some of these companies have therefore lost the opportunity to receive payments ranging from between$7,000.00 to $212,000.00. Can anyone offer an explanation for the reasons why a company would decline to submit a Form W9? [link] [comments] |
Sponsor says they can't make a new contract? Posted: 06 May 2021 12:57 AM PDT Basically, I'm a twitch streamer, I have an offer from a management that is pretty much doing middleman work and is setting up a campaign through a company. We negotiated on a higher payout than originally offered. They sent over the contract that says there's a 200$ management fee, but are telling me they will only take 65$ in discord DM's. I asked them to send over a contract that had the correct fee in the contract, but they claim that for many legal reasons. They cannot, they said I could screenshot their message that tells me it's only 65$ but, I feel like it doesn't matter what they say if the 200$ is in the contract. Am I safe if I have the screenshot? Or is it imperative that I have a new contract? Thanks!!! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 05 May 2021 09:43 PM PDT Hi, I want to purchase the export data of the business line I am into. Some of the websites have only a little data while some of them charge a very hefty fee. Do any of you guys buy import/export data from such portals for your business. If yes, can you please share the name of those portals. We used panjiva, importgenius, etc. to name a few. How do shareholders trust what companies tell them in quarterly reports? Posted: 05 May 2021 04:43 PM PDT Forgive me if I'm using wrong lingo. My question is basically how does an investor make sure the companies they invest in are doing well? Do they hire independent reviewers that scout the companies for them and report back to them? Possible business careers for billinguals? (In Canada) Posted: 05 May 2021 04:04 PM PDT My partner from Japan recently got her bachelor's degree from her home country, and she plans on getting a postgraduate business degree at a university here in Canada. With little to no knowledge in business in a foreign country, are there any specific branches of business that she could look into? Are there any benefits in being a billingual? Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |
Have any tech startups here considered brand ambassadors? (Business tool app) Posted: 05 May 2021 03:43 PM PDT I'm the Founder of Contapp, a revolutionary mobile business tool app and have been considering brand ambassadors to use/spread awareness of our business tool. Reason: the business tool sells itself and the nature of the app is that it will be like a snowball effect, hence why I'd like to target business leaders & entrepreneurs with large a following I was wondering, has anyone in a similar business gone down this route? All feedback and opinions welcomed 👍🏼 [link] [comments] |
