Posted: 07 May 2021 01:09 AM PDT Hello, dear Redditors! I'd like to discuss the following trends regarding e-commerce with you. How many of you started operating in this field? What are the benefits, and what difficulties should I expect to create an online store? If you have any experience in this field, please be so kind as to share it with the rest. The issue is that during the lockdown, the shop I own faced some difficulties. Usually, we have plenty of customers, and we've always been profitable. I also try to talk to my customers in my free time to find out about their needs and what I can possibly improve. It is always a pleasure for me to speak to someone, and I try to dedicate as much time as possible. But before the lockdown, we had to face specific difficulties, such as pay much attention to hygiene, use sanitizers, disinfect the whole place at least 2 times per day. It is not only time-consuming, but also we had to close for 2 hours per day. Besides, some customers preferred to stay at home, instead of going shopping. I completely understand them that safety comes first. Also, my staff members were too tired of spending the whole day wearing rubber gloves and a face mask. During the lockdown, I barely could afford to pay everyone wages. Even though I was allowed to pay only 80%, I decided to pay more because my staff relied on me. There were no sales, so we cannot talk about profit. Even after the lockdown was over, we still face some difficulties related to sales. I think that a lot of stores have faced this issue. My staff suggested opening an online store to increase sales. But, I'm not that confident in this field. I already found one organization that will help me to create a store on this platform. But, they told me that they are responsible only for creating an online store. Therefore, I need someone to promote this store online. People who are making my website suggested I hire this company — https://www.cardinaldigitalmarketing.com/services/seo/. I'm not sure if I need them or not. If someone could explain some basic principles of SEO and how it affects e-commerce. I would be grateful for that! [link] [comments] |

Business owners/managers, how can you know what's going on within your business? Posted: 06 May 2021 09:56 AM PDT As someone who has worked only direct entry-level customer service jobs, I wanted to ask something. (Forgive me not knowing terminology, and having such a vague question - not sure how to word it.) How will the owner of a business be able to know what's going on in their business in lower levels (?) if they don't directly see it? In detail? How it's run? And especially in regards to client relations? For an attempted example: How can a CEO of a retail company tell how their stores are being run? Do they see how the stores work? Do they see employees in action? Is it through the staff immediately underneath their position? Or some other way? To explain, from the entry level cashier standpoint: Most of my supervisors answered to the store managers, who answered to regional managers, etc. And from my position, bringing up an issue to them would mean they would be the one to sort out the issue, resolve it, decide what to bring up to the store manager or how the issue gets reported (if it does.) From there, the store manager would decide what to do if the issue is still unresolved. The resolved issues may never be brought out beyond the store management because they've been resolved. ... But then, if the supervisor downplays the issue I brought them, will the store manager be able to understand what's happening? Will the regional manager ever hear about the issues that the store has? Even if the issue happens all the time? (This downplaying happened a lot from the store manager -> regional manager, which muddled it even more. The farther up the chain this went, the stronger the tendency to try to come across "better". Please the superiors, I guess.) So - I'd imagine that means the business owner wouldn't necessarily hear about the issues I would bring up to my supervisor, even if the issue happens all the time. tl;dr I was wanting to ask how upper management in businesses can tell what happens in the lower levels, especially the areas that business earns profit from.
