    Accounting Yeah... about that...

    Accounting Yeah... about that...

    Yeah... about that...

    Posted: 07 May 2021 01:09 PM PDT

Well, it’s officially over. Gave my notice today.

    Posted: 07 May 2021 05:34 AM PDT

I've been applying to jobs outside public for over a month, and have interviewed for probably 10 positions over the last two weeks. Accepted a position yesterday. 40% pay raise (what the FUCK), higher 401k contributions, more generous PTO policy, etc. Working with a good, smart team in a company that I'm excited about.

The past year has been one bad day after another and I cannot fucking wait to go to work excited without wanting to die again.

Thanks to everyone here who gave me advice along the way, and helping give me the guts to actually make a change.

Getting drunk celebrating my IA position at a public utility. Grass is always greener. I'm hanging with my best friends. Public took this from me with some stupid hope of being a partner. I don't want to be a partner. I want to be loved.

I did it, I deleted my work email and Microsoft teams from my phone.

    Posted: 07 May 2021 05:58 AM PDT

Trying to take a day off today (first one since August 2020) and 1 missed call, 3 teams messages and a bunch of emails asking me questions... and it's only 10am. So I deleted all that garbage. Going to have an awesome weekend, hope you guys do too.

Manager and In-Charge openly talking shit about me during work

    Posted: 07 May 2021 01:55 PM PDT

Some backstory: I am a fresh graduate and started at a Big4 firm in January. Busy season was pretty tough but got out of it okay cycling between teams. This week I was primarily on a team who's manager I don't get along with too well (different teaching styles) Today, my in-charge was sharing his screen to show me some procedures and 10 minutes into it went into the work Direct Messenger with the Manager openly talking about how much of a shitty worker I am, with the Manager saying he "gives up on me". Happy Friday everybody!!

45% pay increase and still a staff 1 with a Big4. Got into a nice FP&A role with a F500. Ive been in busy season since December and had a 6/30 YE client coming up so I saved my summer as well.

Hope everyone gets out soon too of the hell that is public accounting!!

...to post a job on LinkedIn as "remote" or "100% remote" or "100% work from home" when it's really "remote for the duration of COVID." Holy fuck do I hate recruiters and HR retards.

I too am leaving public on May 17th!

    Posted: 07 May 2021 08:00 AM PDT

After 15 long, grueling years in public, I am finally making the jump to industry. The rumors are all true: better hours, better pay, better balance.

Feels like a massive weight has been taken off of my shoulders. Now I can actually be there as my kids grow up.

    Quitting big 4

    Posted: 07 May 2021 04:34 PM PDT

Anybody here quit big 4 within 2 months? How did it go for you? I wanted to at least last a year but unfortunately I don't think I'm a good fit for this kind of work environment and it's making me depressed.

    Last day May 17th

    Posted: 07 May 2021 06:47 AM PDT

EY GDS India has offered employees an option of a voluntary Friday off (between May 7 and May 30) to focus on our well being during covid surge. However…….

    Posted: 07 May 2021 04:23 AM PDT

……..any voluntary leave taken will be adjusted against the annual leaves.

How dumb do they think we are.

    Finally Quitting Big 4

    Posted: 07 May 2021 11:49 AM PDT

Thank the lord. Putting my two week notice beginning of next week.

Stupid question but will I still get paid for the long memorial weekend if my last day is a few days before the break?
