Posted: 05 Apr 2021 02:31 AM PDT This might not be the right sub for this question. If it's not, let me know and I'll search for a more suitable sub. I am curious about decision making, especially decisions that rely partly on risk/benefit analysis (e.g., whether to purchase new factory equipment, whether to manufacture in-house or outsource, etc..). Anyways, I am particularly interested in risk. In my opinion, a person could always come up with a scenario worse than the worst case scenario. How do we prevent such an infinite regression? Which worst case scenarios should reasonably be considered? With regard to benefits: At which point do benefits outweigh the risks enough that taking the course of action is the only prudent decision to make? If possible, use numbers and/or variables in your response for clarification. Thank you so much for your contribution! [link] [comments] |
Which major should I choose in order to become a business consultant? Posted: 05 Apr 2021 02:17 AM PDT Hi, I'm a female student who wants to become a business consultant! I recently got an admission from a PhD program in marketing.. The school doesn't hold a high ranking, but at least I could get a PhD degree which will broaden the range of my future options. I didn't get full funding so I have to struggle to get a RAship. The program is located in a cheaper region than in the US. The thing is that I'm also attracted to a Masters program in Commercial Law. Since this program structure is a little bit similar to that of a JD, it might be very helpful to understand how the business is like in that country. If my dream job is a business consultant, which major should I choose? The Masters program costs more than 30,000 USD per year, so it costs my arms and legs.. I also worry that usually management consultant suffer from lots of overwork at nights.. I need your smart opinion! [link] [comments] |
If you actually had the next $100B business idea Posted: 04 Apr 2021 06:58 PM PDT I'm sure this question has been asked before but I am sure curious about your thoughts. Say you travel back in time allowing you to already know the big $$$ ideas like Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, etc. However you have no knowledge of how they actualized these ideas, you have no network, and you have no money. How would you best attempt you capitalize on this "proven" idea? [link] [comments] |
Are people doing PPP loan scams? Posted: 04 Apr 2021 03:01 PM PDT I've seen tons of people on social media advertising help applying for ppl loans "guaranteed approval" and I'm confused. Is this not a small business loan? I know for a fact none of these ppl have a small business and they're taking out like 20k lol. Are they not going to have to pay that back? I feel like I'm missing something lol [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2021 05:21 PM PDT So im starting a business, planing to start selling very soon. Its basically about making food for convenience stores, the thing is I have 3 flavors going on, where everything is the same but only the protein changes (Tuna, Salmon and Surimi), I find it hard to convince myself that having 3 "different flavors" with minor changes only on the protein, is gonna work since i feel like the common fillings will be pretty much the most notorious thing when eating eat, therefore i feel like people could get bored after a little while. Sure thing costs and operative timings are better this way but im not sure wheter thats best.. So im debating in either eliminating 2 flavors and make 2 new complete different ones, although everyone so far liked all of the current. or Start selling all 3 of them for about a month or so, see which ones are the best sellers, and maybe if one sells way more than the rest, keep that one but change the ones that do not sell that good in a worst to best order. The thing with the second option is that if all sell the same, i wouldnt know how good would the business be going if i were to have 3 different dressings instead of just one. Thanks beforehand for your advice, the business im working on is Onigiris for convenience stores, already got a deal to start selling them tomorrow, yet this wondering is killing me ! Some opinions ive heard so far where leaning kind of towards the second option.
-"Trying to have different flavors, different markets, (his opinion yet debatable), would not give you the best approach to fullfill one completely, better get a good grip of one customer segment" So this opinions lean me a little bit towards the second option, yet when discussing to these people, they told me to absolutely not remove some flavors in the future since its not good to give something and then take it away from them, yet this is a completely new starting business so i dont see a huge problem with it. Where are all these mattress companies popping up from? Posted: 04 Apr 2021 05:09 PM PDT There seems to be a huge uptick in new mattress brands and the same ad coming up, rando couple rolls out the mattress together, then cut to them sleeping in dark room, cut to waking up looking like they just got done putting make up on. Is it the same mattress but branded differently? Surely they can't all have R&D teams modifying each one. What's the deal? Is there that much profit here? [link] [comments] |
