Roblox goes public tomorrow. If you don't understand what Roblox is, play it. Here are my suggestions.

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 03:07 PM PST

First off, I think the valuation Roblox will start at is a bit rich for the company's potential. I doubt I'll be buying any shares tomorrow, but my oldest child probably is looking forward to buying 1 or 2 in his custodial account.

Anyway, here are the games that my kids have had me play with that that I've actually enjoyed. I'm including a good range of game types, so you can get a real experience for just how diverse this platform is. So step 1 is head over to Roblox.com and make an account, and perhaps pick up some free gear for your avatar and dress yourself up.

    Games:

Epic Minigames or Ripull Minigames: These are two very similar games, where a group of players are competing to defeat each other at 100 different games, each lasting about 1 minute. Some are simple, some are hard, some are solo and some are teams.

Super Blocky Ball: This is just a fun racing game. You're a marble on a track in a race against other players. Rounds are quick and cycle through a bunch of maps. Definitely a genuinely fun game.

Bee Swarm Simulator: I can't explain why my family likes this game so much, but it's pretty nifty. It's a tiny world where you build up a hive of bees and use them to collect pollen/honey, and to fight monsters. The map isn't that big, and the game is mostly a grind, but it's fun to unlock new areas and bees and gear. It's worth 5 minutes to better understand Roblox, for sure. And this is a very popular game right now (17,000 players active right now as I type this).

Yar or Build a Boat for Treasure: Here are another two highly similar games; in both worlds you build a boat using blocks and then launch your boat down an obstacle course and see how far you can make it. If you build a great boat, make sure to save it before you launch! There's a lot of creativity to unlock in these games, and they're quite easy to master. And BABFT has 23,000 players active now as I type this.

Chess: Have you ever wanted to beat up a bunch of 8 year-olds in chess? Here's your opportunity to shine! You'll get a live opponent real fast, and the interface is both easy and slick. Definitely worth playing at least one match, but be warned, you have a total of 10 minutes to make all your moves or you lose.

Zombie Rush or Zombie Attack: If you want to kill an endless horde of zombies in a shooter game, check these out. Are the graphics amazing? No! Does everything work smoothly? Heck no! Are these games playable? Sure. Are they popular? Enough. Worth playing? I guess. Fun? Yeah, for a little while at least. Or maybe give Arsenal a try instead; that's probably the most popular shooting game on Roblox right now.

Anyways, those are the games I'd suggest giving a try. If that's not enough to give you good idea of what Roblox offers, then take a quick peek at whatever other games are popular right now and pop into those worlds for a moment.

    Good luck investing!

    Worried about stockmarketmania

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 04:30 PM PST

A few days ago, I saw a documentary about the financial collapse of the Japanese stock market in the 90s, and I found it interesting to see how many people left their jobs to dedicate themselves to the stock market. This past year, we have seen the great influx of retail traders in staggering numbers. I am intrigued what kind of profile these people have, that is, how old are they and if they have a job or are in college. So i would like you to answer this, please

ps: I have some fear of how the stock market has become easy money (for now), and many young people decide to dedicate themselves to trading instead of going to more productive sectors for society such as engineering, computer science. This interest of mine comes from when elon musk said there were too many people going finance instead of stem. I believe that this new situation will aggravate the problem more than solve it. IF someone is interested, I am 22 and I am studying economics

Here is a Market Recap for today Tuesday, March 9, 2021

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 01:21 PM PST

After a steep pullback in the last couple of weeks, stocks roared back Tuesday, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq recording its best day since April 2020. The move marked a stark reversal after the index sank into a correction by the close of Monday's session, plunging a total of more than 10% from a recent record closing high. Goes to show how volatile the market can be. The S&P 500 (SPY) closed 1.42% higher and the Dow Jones (DIA) closed 0.10% up.

The sharp contrast between the performance of the Dow and the Nasdaq in recent weeks underscores market participant's increasing rotation out of high-flying tech stocks that led the markets higher in 2020 into stocks that are poised to directly benefit from the impending economic reopening.

The Treasury yield pulled back a little but remains at elevated levels, which was pressuring equity markets, particularly tech stocks, in recent weeks. . Rising interest rates hurt high-growth stocks the most because high-growth companies generate most of their cash and earnings years down the road. Future cash decreases in today's dollars as rates increase partly because investors have more opportunity to earn bigger returns from assets paying higher interest and dividends right now.

Courtney Dominguez, Payne Capital Management Senior Wealth Advisor said, "This is a trend that tends to happen as we get out of a recession: You tend to see stocks move towards cyclical. So things like value companies or small caps, things like energy, tend to do really well when you're coming out of a recession. And what happened last year is, those tech companies were really doing so well that their prices were getting extremely high. I don't think these companies are going away. I think a lot of these are going to be things that we continue to have in our workplaces going forward. But the question is, are these companies so expensive, is all the optimism already priced in?"

Over the weekend, the Senate approved the $1.9 trillion stimulus package. The bill, which includes $300 per week in enhanced federal unemployment benefits through early September, $350 billion in state and local aid and $1,400 stimulus checks to Americans who qualify is set for a vote in the House of Representatives tomorrow before being sent to President Biden's for signature. The bill is likely to pass before the March 14 deadline where enhanced federal unemployment benefits expire.

"In my view, the biggest investment risk is not the volatility of prices, but whether you will suffer a permanent loss of capital. Not only is the mere drop in stock prices not risk, but it is an opportunity. Where else do you look for cheap stocks?" - Li Lu (Had to reuse the quote, so valuable considering how stocks rallied today)

Do you know what today is?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 04:34 AM PST

A major event happened March 9th that every investor should remember. On this day in 2000 the NASDAQ Composite closed over 5000 for the first time.

It's important because the Composite did not close above 6000 until April. April, 2017. Yes, it took 17 years to go from 5000 to a 6000 close.

I don't bring this up to advocate selling all growth stocks or to predict a long bear market. It would take more than a post to explain why now is different from 2000. The reason I bring this up is to point out that investing is making a lot of decisions based on complex information. There is no one fact or rule that guarantees investing success or failure.

If you look for one good reason to buy something, you will always find one. If you look for one good reason to sell something, you will always find one. Look at all the information you can get your hands Use it all to manage the risk vs the potential reward.

Are we here to brag about yesterday posting screenshots and memes or to help each other make make money?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 07:58 AM PST

I have been on and off asking where the appropriate place to post my top 5 picks for today's open as well as discuss other people picks to maximize gains for everyone not try and blitz a company (not against it) but to share info we may have come across in our research. Not enough people replied and only a couple of follows there is many investors here new and old and a huge influx of money (stimulus checks) are going to be invested soon. 5 of 5 of the ones I choose are up since open, not a huge feat considering market is up but one is 28% right now. If we bounced ideas maybe a few more would be up in that range not the 5-10% like rest. I dont want to see dumb things like stonk or anything hands just real talk with real people. This isnt a game to me it's a way to help each other succeed. I want your advice more than want to try and give any but it's a 2 way street. Please join me with fresh ideas not yesterdays posts and lets all become winners together, thank you.

    FINANCIALS

These are to expected to be filed at any moment, and with 400mm contract from 2020 to be listed, along with many other contracts that were won in Q4 of 2020

Let alone what may be waiting to be announced for Q1 2021.

**** The last Defense Production Act that was passed MRS won $400mm. The latest DPA passed was for even more. Speculative that MRS may get an even larger amount. This Act is for the national stock pile of PPE and more.

Many reasons why the stock market doesn't crash and corrections happen so fast...

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 04:31 PM PST

You can thank the PPT for this and they keep the market up for many reasons ..

    • Pensions/irs ( less welfare for future retirees)
    • Capital gain tax income
    • Personal and associate profit
    • Economy

Crashes and corrections hurt jobs and tax income so we have the government to artificially keep markets going higher. Corrections and crashes when they do happen unsturally will be fast so the government can quickly continue the path upwards forever as long as they can.

Look at the PPT as investors.. they have unlimited funds to ensure they not only get a return back in capital gains tax but they also may or may not have positions worth trillions? They are likely the biggest investor by far. Who's to say they don't hack the stock market and just punch in numbers? Or have trillions worth of actual positions..But anyways...

How long can this last? I know the government can pump money forever but how long can we justify PE ratios that are nowhere near reasonable?

There is likely a limit even the PPT will not go beyond before allowing a crash even though they will buy it right back up. I'm guessing the market will start going less parabolic and more sideways in the coming decades. It will likely max out unless population and the gap between rich and poor lessens creating new businesses
