Should I buy this business with my friend? Posted: 31 Mar 2021 07:09 AM PDT So my friend works at this local pizza place (pizza is huge over here) and his boss wants to sell the place to him because he wants to just focus on his other landscaping business. It's a really new place and it brings in about $290,000 a year (before expenses) and is only 2 or 3 years into business. Currently he wants $100k, but says we could go through a lawyer to write up a contract to put $20k down, $10k in a savings (to make sure we can pay for monthly expenses for the first month or two) and then pay him $800 a month until the private loan is payed off with the option of him always buying it back if we don't feel like we want it after having it or can handle it. After all expenses including the payment to him, payroll to the employees, etc. the place leaves about $6k a month ($72k a year). Now after looking at their bills I totally feel like I could lower them and if I bought this place with my friend I'd be working there instead of my current retail job so we could cut down on the payroll. I could also create more partnerships with other businesses nearby and list us on apps like doordash in order to get more orders which means more profit. But with that $72k we would have to split it but also put some of that into a savings for the business. So at most we'd be making $36k each for working full time. But that's not including savings so I'd say really at minimum about $20-$25k a piece minimum for working full time unless we lower the costs and payroll. Now on average I make that working about 30 hrs a week at a grocery store while I go to college. Do you guys think I should go for it and just try to lower the bills and payroll, drive sales and give it a shot? Or is it not worth it? Currently I'm looking at it as an awesome opportunity to learn a bunch about owning a business, being my own boss and using the place as a stepping stone into the world of business but I want to ask outside opinions so I know I'm not being naive. Posted: 31 Mar 2021 05:59 AM PDT Hello everybody! I'm a third-year (senior) student studying Computer Engineering. For my Tech. Communication course, I'm in need of a real instance of a memo and a business letter. The topic doesn't matter (doesn't have to be about Computer Engineering or anything), anything is fine. If you're working and can share an instance of a memo or a business letter you have with me, I will be so pleased. I will censor all the private data (including the names) before submitting. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Can you help me with this form for my college entrepreneurship class? Posted: 31 Mar 2021 05:30 AM PDT Hello! I was wondering if any of you would be willing to help me with this form for my college entrepreneurship class. It's all about conversations and speaking to those with experience. I'm trying to measure how comfortable people feel with such a topic, and I was hoping to get your opinion. Also, I know it is an outside link, but it's just a google form. I totally understand if you feel uncomfortable with an external link. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 30 Mar 2021 05:22 PM PDT Hello, I'm trying to fill out the IRS form to get an EIN for my LLC. On the form, you have to put down your legal business name. But, my legal business name consists of an apostrophe and a period within the name. The form says it has to be your legal business name but it won't accept the one I'm putting down. It's supposed to match your LLC name. My LLC has all of the correct punctuation. Sorry if this is a no brainer question, I just don't want to get in trouble. [link] [comments] |
