Is lab verification required for 'best before date'?

    Posted: 05 Jan 2021 10:37 PM PST

Hi, does anybody here happen to know whether a lab verified report is required for mentioning the best before date of a food product? I do plan to have a proper lab testing, but that might take time, so all I want to ask is whether I can start selling my product with an approximately estimated best before date and once the lab testing is done it can be replaced by the accurate date? So does anybody have any idea how this thing works?

    PS: I'm from India.

    Today I screwed up

    Posted: 05 Jan 2021 10:14 PM PST

    Hello Everyone,

Today I screwed up and am posting this because it's 1:10am and I can't sleep because of it. I own my own business and was walking with an employee around our shop and saw a big box. I made a comment about us "hiring Hispanics and shipping them over" or something along those lines. To be honest, I don't recall the exact words but it was something like that. I am extremely suck to my stomach that I said that knowing that it's a very insensitive thing to say. I made a mistake. I have several Hispanic employees and feel like my only recourse on this is to confront it head-on and have a discussion with them. I am not sure if my employee has said anything to any of my other employees or not. I can only assume that he has/will.

Is the right move to sit down with my employees and explain this to them?

    Graffiti cleaning business

    Posted: 05 Jan 2021 01:11 PM PST

Hello. I am thinking of purchasing a gas powered 3200 psi 2.4 gpm cleaner on a trailer that comes with a 100 gal (378 l) water tank.

Does anyone familiar with this sort of business or similar (sand blasting, pressure cleaning) business have any idea of the efficacy of equipment like that ? I'd cater mostly to remote/industrial/commercial places where they wouldn't ideally have water connection.

Also, how effective is this kind of power washer in removing spray paint or oil based paint graffiti ?

Any suggestions/tips would be much appreciated ! Thnx

Student Debt Is Crippling EntrepreneurshipWith Covid-19 battering the economy, helping aspiring business owners seems like a no-brainer.

    Posted: 05 Jan 2021 04:05 PM PST

For aspiring entrepreneurs, student debt reduces the amount of cash available for startups and affects their credit score, making business loans tough to secure. It also renders more daunting the prospect of failure, which increases risk aversion. The impact of debt may show up as well in the share of new entrepreneurs between the ages of 20 and 34, which fell to 27 percent in 2019, from 34 percent in 1996, according to a recent Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation study. In a 2019 survey of college students planning to graduate within 12 months, 47 percent of those interested in entrepreneurship cited student loans as the single greatest deterrent to starting a business after earning a degree, The problem isn't just that young people are postponing their big dreams. Sixty percent of student borrowers expect debt to linger into their 40s, Citizens Bank found in 2016. Given that the average age of founders in high-growth industries is about 40 at launch, that expectation could represent a significant drag on people imagining startups as their second or third acts. Debt-ridden founders may also be less selective about whom they take on as capital partners, prioritizing ready cash over the best alignment with the business. And they're less likely to launch risky growth companies. To keep up with their payments, they need money fast, and so can't take the time required to experiment and innovate.
