    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/10/20/microsoft-expands-its-space-business-pairing-its-azure-cloud-with-spacexs-starlink-internet.html

Microsoft is partnering with SpaceX to connect the Azure cloud computing network to the growing Starlink satellite internet service offered by Elon Musk's company.

The partnership comes as Microsoft expands into the space industry, with the company a few weeks ago unveiling a new service called Azure Orbital to connect satellites directly to the cloud.

Azure Space and the new partnership sets up Microsoft and SpaceX to compete further with Jeff Bezos' businesses Amazon and Blue Origin, which have announced plans for similar satellite services and more.

This is another major victory for msft cloud unit azure. It is a long term hold stock given msft diversified revenue streams. Many businesses are very dependable on msft products to operate.

Here is a Market Recap for today Tues, Oct 20, 2020. Please enjoy!

    PsychoMarket Recap - Tuesday, October 20, 2020

Stocks traded higher today, with market participants hoping that lawmakers may succeed in coming to an agreement for more stimulus in the near-term.

Stocks lost some momentum in the last hour of market, but still ended the day higher overall. The Nasdaq (QQQ) finished the day 0.21%, the S&P (SPY) finished 0.38% up, and the Dow Jones (DIA) ended the day 0.35% up.

Over the weekend, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi set a deadline for today to reach a deal with the Trump administration for an additional round of stimulus before the November election. However, in an interview today, Pelosi downplayed the importance of the deadline she had set, signaling that she is willing to keep talks going. "It isn't that this day was a day that we would have a deal, it was a day that we would have our terms on the table to be able to go to the next step. Hopefully by the end of the day today, we'll know where we stand." In other words, if a bill is to be voted on and passed before the November election, terms need to be agreed and the bill written soon. Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama responded saying, "You never know what's going to happen around here at the last minute but it's getting to be toward the last minute and the clock keeps ticking away. I'm not optimistic about doing anything."

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and Pelosi are set to continue discussion regarding stimulus today at 3 p.m. easter time, as both officials make a push to come to an agreement very soon. Discussions between the pair have been ongoing for weeks but unfortunately very little progress seems to be made, grappling with disagreements on issues including state and local funding and liability protection, per the Wall Street Journal. Let's hope they are able to come to a decision.

Pres. Trump also supported the idea of a large, comprehensive stimulus package saying "I want to do it even bigger than the Democrats. Not every Republican agrees, but they will. I want to do it even bigger, because this is money going to people who did not deserve what happened to them."

    Website/Software for Market Statistics

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 05:54 PM PDT

Does anyone know of either a website or software that can calculate the number of stocks in a particular index meeting a specific criteria? I know there are plenty of sites that display "basic" stats such as number of stocks in the S&P trading above their 50-day moving average?

In particular I'd like to look at the number of symbols in a particular index trading above their VWAP's.

I've been manually collecting data through scans on the ThinkOrSwim platform but it's a time consuming process with zero flexibility (ie: if I want to change criteria, I have to run all of the manual scans over again).

I know people are going to say I can use Python or R, but the ideal solution would be something that doesn't require a working knowledge of database management or more complicated coding.

    Thanks!

    Help understanding analyses info

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 07:58 PM PDT

On Webull they have graphs called order flow distribution, large scale orders in last 5 days and in the short interest info they have graphs on days to cover and short interest. Can someone help explain these graphs and how this information is useful to evaluate the future of the stock. I know the future of the stock is uncertain but in some way I'm sure this info helps show which way the market wants the stock to go. Similar to how I use the option chain to see what price point is being bought the most in options shows me which way investors want the stock to go from its current position.

Does anyone here trade for income supplement ?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 02:32 PM PDT

I currently have 28k in my trading account that I grew from $ 5000. I've already paid my 30% capital gains tax this year and have 28k locked in. I am planning on moving out of California to Las Vegas. I want to build my 28k account while taking profits for my expenses. So every month I want to net around 10 percent which is about $3000. I want to be able to pay myself $1000- $1500 every month while withholding 50 percent of my monthly profits in my account for tax purposes and for portfolio growth. Is this doable ? I am a pretty disciplined trader and have profitably traded for the past year. I'm experienced with trading bullish and bearish markets. I plan on trading and working gig apps such as Uber/DoorDash ($300/week) while trading as my income source. Should I pull the plug ? I need about 2200 monthly to comfortably live in Vegas. I also have 10,000 saved up in my bank account and about 2000 in cash. I want to hear from others that are trading as an income supplement and would love to hear your opinion.

Investing VS Gambling - Is Daytrading Gambling?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 12:05 PM PDT

Very curious on whether you feel investing vs gambling has a huge overlap and thoughts on whether most people use daytrading as pretty much an outlet for online gambling. Robinhood reports that nearly half of their users that were onboarded this year were first-time traders. During a desparate time like this, I feel like a lot are turning to stocks without fully understanding the risks, and with the markets climbing higher since March, they may be in for a very brutal surprise. What are your thoughts?

Do you think it would be late for investing NIO?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 03:52 PM PDT

I heard about a lot of people that bought tons of NIO shares in the past and currently maybe would be dumb to buy at this high price (28ish).

I'm asking because I really would like to invest 2k for NIO at the current value.

The hope is on the long run, so we're taking about 10/15 years, hoping for a huge high jump up to 30/40 of return rate.

How it sounds? Any tips? Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help!

Which stock do you regret selling in 2020?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 09:45 AM PDT

I've done pretty well in the stock market but there's always that one stock that I wished I had kept for just a tad longer.

In my case, this was VSLR (Vivint Solar). I had bought 75 shares at around $6 cost in April to beef up the energy exposure of my portfolio. Not a large amount as I was a bit hesitant at the time. The company got acquired by SunRun months later, I panicked and sold at $15. A beautiful return but had I waited a few more months, I could have sold in the mid 40s. My $450 investment turning into $3000+.

I've used this as a learning experience to study mergers and acquisitions. I'm curious if anyone has similar stories this year considering how much the market has fluctuated.

FirstEnergy’s price drop (following Public Utilities Commission investigation) looks overdone. Market capitalization is down $6 billion compared to likely fine of around $200 million

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 06:08 AM PDT

On Monday Shelby Tucker from RBC Capital maintained a buy rating on FirstEnergy $FE with a TP of $37 and follows a similar move by Morgan Stanley on October 5th with a TP of $39.

That allows 20% upside and looks reasonable given the stock was valued at $42 in July and $52 in February.

Those valuations were before the Ohio Consumer Council asked the state's Public Utilities Commission to conduct an independent investigation of FirstEnergy, which federal authorities have tied to a $60M bribery scheme involving Ohio's former House Speaker. In its defense $FE has asserted that it acted ethically in its actions.

However even assuming the worst the $6bn drop in market cap seems to exceed any likely downside.

    • $FE has not received any benefit from the alleged bribery (the relevant HB6 legislation does not come into effect until next year),
    • the overall impact of HB6 is not material for $FE (the stock did not move significantly when it was signed
    • the $6bn drop in market cap far exceeds the total $60M bribery
    • The $6bn drop in market cap far exceeds comparable cases (Exelon paid a $200M fine for bribery in Illinois in July)

All in all the valuation looks attractive with a trailing PE of 12 and forward dividend yield of 4.9%

This is is not a recommendation to buy or sell. Stocks are not suitable for everyone. Some of the stocks mentioned are risky small cap and/or highly speculative. Please do your own research.

    When to buy

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 12:16 PM PDT

I'm struggling with finding the right time to buy in. I do my due diligence and find stocks that are pulling me 3-4% when I invest in them but I'm going through wild rides to get them, I'm buying in like 20 minutes before the stock drops and then rebounds even when it seems like a very stable stock.. Any advice on when to buy in?

    Tipranks for stocks recommendations ?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 11:15 AM PDT

Do you recommend using Tipranks as a side tool for buying/selling stocks? It seems that most of the big stocks there are being recommended as "buy", which seems suspicious.

And is there another recommended website where I can look up a certain stock and see up to date buy/sell/hold recommendations?

P.s. I always see in stock market news that stocks go up or down as a result of an analyst or a bank changed its target price or changed its recommendation from "hold" to "buy", etc, and I don't really understand where this information is coming from. Where can I see a banks list of stocks recommendations? Like, deutsche bank or goldman sachs.

    Thanks

Buying / Selling Stocks on Weekly/Monthly basis Vs Holding Long-term

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 11:00 AM PDT

I usually buy small quantities of stocks and monitor if it goes up or down. If for example I bought £200 and Logitech Monday and it suddenly goes up 10% on Tuesday then isn't it logical to sell it and either keep the money in cash or reinvest in some other stock?

What are the downsides of this strategy, say you set a target of selling when a stock goes up 5% or 10% from initial investment and regularly redistribute your portfolio this way.

It definitely feels more enjoyable and educational compared to say buying Coca-Cola and then doing nothing for 10 years.

RENN is a low float, support at $5.50

NTZ is a low float, support at $5.50

ANTE is a low float, resistance at $1.60
