    Business with freelancers

    Posted: 16 Oct 2020 12:58 AM PDT

Hi guys, hope this is the right place to post.

I want to know if it's a good business model to start an online business where my employees are freelancers at first and then after multiple contracts I employ them full time.

    Is this legal and everything?

    Thanks in advance!

Best services for emailing reports to clients?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 05:07 PM PDT

    Hi Everyone

I doubt this is the best place for it, but I looking for the best email service to use to send clients report and html-coded emails (that contain shorter reports). I doubt there is anything that allows pdfs to be attached (although that would be ideal), but I definitely need something that let's be send out newsletter-style reports on a daily basis .

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

How do we approach this company?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 06:03 PM PDT

Hey so me and my friends are going to go around to local shops and offer a redesign to their company and we are both 16. Im confident we can do this but we are unsure of how we should approach the businesses.

Should we go in ask for the manager and talk face to face (in Australia with masks) and offer what we can do or should we email them and tell them that way. I think we should go in but we wanted to get reddits opinion. thanks!

What are some gaps in the market right now?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 10:27 AM PDT

I have a big entrepreneurship project in school where my group and I are supposed to come up with a business to fill up a gap in the market and I personally cannot think of anything! Does anyone have any original ideas that I can go off of? Apps or covid related business ideas are not allowed.

    Business Hacks! Sharing and Seeking!

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 02:59 PM PDT

Hey all! I'm wondering if you've found any business hacks that have helped you run your business?

I'm a service provider, with low overhead (and low sales tax credits) so my personal hack is every time a client pays me, I immediately move the Sales Tax collected into a dedicated sales tax account, and I immediately move 20% of the pre tax amount to a dedicated income tax savings account. For businesses that are not low overhead, then I tell them it's important to but the balance of sales tax payable (collected minus credits) into a savings account every month, and to put 20% of that month's profit into a savings account every month.

On the tech side, Receipt Bank beats out Hubdoc for many reasons...

On the practical side, AMAZON HAS A BUSINESS ACCOUNT! You can sign up for it, and others in your business can have different levels of access: View only, or prepare order for approval, etc. It keeps your personal amazon purchases separate form your business amazon purchases, and you can collaborate and share with your admin/bookkeeping team with controlled access and limited risk!

Any other hacks out that that you want to share with everyone? TIA!

    Procrastination

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 01:09 PM PDT

Do you usually fall into a trap of procrastination?

You know that you need to do a certain things that might be very important for you or your relatives, but you just don't do them...

Maybe you're trying to start a new business or you are working on current projects...

Maybe you want to learn something new, or you must do that...

You have a plan, you know what to do... but...

There is something holding you back...

You know that those d*mn things needs to be done, but you just can't find the inspiration to do them...

And even if you try, it is so hard to concentrate and stay focused for a long period of time, so you just give up after 5-10 min of work and fall into this trap of doing nothing.

How many times you blamed yourself? For being lazy, hopeless and dumb.. Because you can't do such simple things done!

    ...

    You feel discouraged, sad, worthless...

And to make yourself feel a little bit better you distract yourself with some videos, TV or social media...

But then... You realize that you spend so much time on "fun stuff", and everything that needs to be done still waiting there, reminding you of your wasted time...

    Yeah... I've been there...

    So many times...

    ...

    Look...

If you want to stop this, then you will need to be decisive.

If you want to end this circle of despair, then you will need to take a massive action!

Get clear on your goals, your desires, your dreams...

    And then ask yourself:

"What is required of me to get closer to my goals? What action steps i need to do?"

You must be fully 100% clear on your goals..

    What are you passionate about?

    ...

I hope this will help you to get more clear of what is required of you...

If your discipline and attitude is strong enough, then you will get results 100%!

And if your environment is supportive enough, then you have nothing to worry about.

    ...

    You see...

Not many of us are strong enough to keep going alone, and push ourselves through every challenge in our lives...

And if you want to achieve massive results and great success in your life, then it is very important that you surround yourself with like minded people.

It is required that you have mentors in your life that inspires you and help you to move forward!

    ...

If you have everything mentioned above - GREAT!

I'm sure that you will achieve enormous amount of success in your life!

If you are not already done that :)

    ...

But if you feel like you need help with this, then I'm here...

    Here to serve you.

Not teach you, by giving some tasks or advices like "10 tips of what you should do..." and blah blah blah...

    No...

I'm ready to help you move forward...

And if you feel like you could use some help...

Please, PM me for more details.

    ...

    Stay strong!

Ex-client refusing to pay up. What are my options?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 07:54 AM PDT

I worked as a consultant with a fitness firm. We signed a contract and work was good as well.

They decided to hire me for secondary service mid-way which I gladly accepted as an extra income source. However, We don't sign a contract for that service as a sign of trust. I too let it pass in good faith.

Fast forward two weeks, The client decided to hire an in-house manager which meant I was no longer needed. I end things amicably.

It has been 20 days since then no money has been released till now for the work I did. It is a substantial amount as it makes 45% of my monthly revenue.

They are directing me from one department to the other. They are not even receiving my calls now. I do have a contract but for the other work that I did, I have nothing except WhatsApp messages.

What are my options from here? Involving legal authorities is my last option as I dread the complications.
I also, want to know - How to avoid such a scenario in future where you're working as a 3rd party service provider.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

I’m 18, and I do not want to work a normal job. I want to own a business. How do I go about it?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 11:16 AM PDT

Background: I'm 18(M) and I am in my first semester of college for CS. I am able to live at home as long as I'm doing something with my life, so money is not a major issue for now. I am just starting to get into photography as a side hustle and so that I can learn basic business skills.

My question is how do I go about it? Do I continue with my degree? Do I need to learn technical skills first? Should I accumulate money first?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Viable Side Hustle idea?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 06:03 AM PDT

So currently I am nowhere close to the niche or space I'm looking to get involved in. So basically I like cars, I've been sporting up my own, and go to car shows and always get compliments on how pretty she is ect. So there's a really high class company that teaches people to Ceramic Coat cars, and how to basically be a professional detailer. Its about 350 bucks to take the course. Once you pass you become an affiliate and are referenced on there website. My idea is to take the course, learn the skills, and market my business at all the car shows I go to, start an Instagram page and basically post all the cars I do. Even thinking if i can get 4 guys with like the super fancy cars (Porsche, Shelby mustangs, Supra, M4 ect) and even shoot them a deal maybe half off, just to spread word and show that I do good work. The car community is pretty tight niche, and everyone needs there car detailed before big meets.

It sounds like a pretty good idea to me, regardless I mean if I take the course, and can gain 4 clients ill pay off the money for the course and take home about $300 profit. I have a garage so I could do it year round, unlike most people who do it seasonal. I work Full time right now as a Security Manager for a large casino, I'm just thinking something I can do when I get out and on the weekend, while still being in a niche market that I enjoy being part of.
