    Usps small business

    Usps

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 07:19 PM PDT

I mailed out 79 pieces of mail, so far 15 have came back with a yellow sticker "undeliverable no such address". Not only did I pull the exact address up on ggle, I called and verified the address with the people. WTF?

Fraud: I recently was alerted that US SM BUS ADMIN ODA inquired on my credit report. This is the small business loan for COVID relief, and I do not own a business. Advice on next steps?

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 08:05 PM PDT

I have reached out to all three credit reporting agencies and put a freeze on my credit report. I plan on calling the small business loan office in the morning (right when they open, as I hear hold times are horrendous).

I also signed up for Norton LifeLock as an added protection in case they manage to actually receive any funds from the loan, so that I can have a professional assigned to the investigation and work for me in getting this corrected.

Anything else I need to be doing? I am worried that this will completely destroy me financially if I forget a crucial step.

USPS question for small business owners...

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 07:57 PM PDT

I'm wanting to start my business soon but became hesitate after seeing whats going on in the news with this mail carrier. I've seen people saying they've been getting bad reviews for their business because of the postal delays that are out of their control. I don't want to deal with that starting off.

Is anyone experiencing these types of delays or issues?

    Thx in advance

What do you use for scheduling?

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 06:02 PM PDT

I am hoping to find some recommendations for a scheduling platform that can support the following:

External booking-customers book slots on calendar

Customers can book overlapping slots-not tied to one user so I can allocate internally

I can change/update the calendar invite within the platform, not on individual calendars

I have full overview of all schedules/calendars in admin role

Can create multiple calendars as needed per job and those calendars don't cause conflicts allowing customers to not be able to book.

Do not recommend calendy, it cannot support most of the functions I need in the way I need it and I hate 75% of everything about it. The biggest issue is that I need to be able to have customers book timeslots I open up, for example, 6 open slots from 10:00am-11:00am and not have those go to 6 individual people on my end. I want it all in one place and I allocate to my team as necessary internally. I cannot find anything that seems to support all of these things in one.

What pitfalls to look out for when starting a business with 3 partners.

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 01:18 PM PDT

So long story short, I am in the process of finalizing paperwork for a flooring company that will have 3 co-owners. The plan is to split the shares evenly at 33.33% each. The company is in California and one of my main concerns is that co-owners are allowed to sell their shares in a company at any point in time later. (As far as I know). I trust & have a good relationships with the other owners currently but do not feel comfortable with the idea of being stuck with a partner later that you did not commit to originally.

TLDR: Starting a company with 2 other partners and looking for advice on navigating the early process.

ALSO, I know some people might try to dissuade me from partnering up but it is my only option due to many factors beyond my control currently.

Took out a MCA loan with SOS Capital and now I’m crashing FAST

    Posted: 09 Sep 2020 02:40 AM PDT

Hoping to find some advice, support, ideas? So I'm a sole proprietor LLC in the Renewable Energy (solar) sales/marketing sector. Based in SoCal where business is and should be booming. The problem is I took focus on building a "nationwide" sales platform at the wrong time and without financial backing. I'm highly motivated and really good at what I do, just poor decision maker sometimes. Naturally, I thought I could grow something amazing with an awesome team behind me. So $45k should zap in exactly what we need to thrive. This was around February (pre-Covid). Fast forward 5 months, Lost employees, lost a lot money trying to hold on by cutting overhead expenses enough to still make a living and keep some folks working. I didn't think much of SOS capital loan that I needed to repay. I figured they had a lot on their hands with COVID and that they weren't worried about a small company like mine. I was trying to work something out with them but before we could settle on something I'd already received a Summons in New York. They hired a law firm who quickly filed law suit and sent UCC lien letters to my Vendors to freeze account receivables. This is the first step into a world of embarrassment and financial stress. I work with several contractors who's earnings are tied up. I'm beginning to feel like the light at the end of the tunnel is disappearing FAST! I'm usually pretty resourceful and can fix a situation like this but I've screwed myself and those who work with me. Now with this lawsuit. I'm getting letters from debt consolidation, lawyers, debt consultants... My head is spinning! I don't know which way to go. I'm not one to give up especially since I've put so much money, time and effort into my company. I'm not ready to let it die for such a minuscule amount but I'm getting crushed and moral is at the ground level. Wife is 7 months pregnant and we just got a 30 day notice to vacate our home. Landlord won't extend our lease for no apparent reason, we've never been late. I need time not money right now. Maybe both, I don't know!! Can someone please share some thoughts or advice? I sure could use some support. Thank you!

    Starting an Ice Cream company

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 08:40 PM PDT

I've had this idea to sell cube ice cream for a while. It would have both alcoholic ice cream, as well as normal non-alcoholic ice cream. It would be a fancy take on the traditional treat. I've tested all of the flavors, and the designs. What I need now is a comprehensive list of all the permits and paperwork I would need to have the business and sell ice cream there. I live in Oklahoma if you need that information. If you want to know anything else PM me.

I have decided to expand and make a website! I have many questions

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 08:31 PM PDT

Hi! I turned 19 in March and decided to start a buisness and use the money to pay for college because my part time job was not cutting it and this pandemic is making it nearly impossible to get hired anywhere. I've finally decided that I want to expand and sell on my own website. As of right now I have been selling through instagram and doing hand deliveries or shipping. Its going pretty good and now I want to move on to my website. Questions: 1. Do I absolutely need an LLC and a sellers permit ? I'm the only person involved and I cant afford to hire anyone. (Im selling hand made jewlery and resin art im in California) 2. Can I somehow add tax to every purchase so I don't have to deal with it at the end of the year or how do buisness taxes work? I'm so scared to mess up my taxes and get into trouble. 3. Do you reccomend i host my own website or use something like wix or shopify?

Thank you for taking time to help me out im still researching more and more however those are just some things I want to be super clear about so I don't make a big mistake.

A little off topic but... Mortgage advice for self employed..?

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 02:33 PM PDT

So I've finally decided to try to buy a home. It took me a while after a divorce and a little bit of soul searching to get to a point financially and credit wise to be in a position to do it, but I still have a lot of worries. The main issue is that I am self employed. My fist couple of years in business were crazy slow and we pretty much barely scraped by with my wife pitching in and doing odd jobs for folks.

Let's face it, anyone who has to pay self employment tax, when you're first getting started, trying to figure out how to do things, etc you do what you can to keep it as low as possible, I probably could have reported 40k and let myself be raped by the IRS, but with expenses, money that I was screwed out of on contract jumpers, money I was putting into the business for tools, equipment, training, etc I just made it as simple as possible and claimed a meager but not outrageously understated income.

My last two years 2018/2019 of tax returns are only for about 20k per year. This year, business has been fantastic, I have already made about 50k net. I have spoken to a representative from quicken who wants 2018/2019 returns with schedule as well as a profit/loss statement for 2020 and bank statements for the past 3 months.

According to the representative they will take all of these into account but I am really worried that they will just average this year's 9 months into the last two years and I'll end up with a super low approval amount or not be approved at all.

I have a good credit score, 725, will be contributing about 10k plus closing costs. Looking to borrow around 160k.

Is this even going to be a possibility? Is there anything I can do to help my chances of being approved?

How do I find people ready to buy?

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 01:16 PM PDT

I digitize physical photos. I scanned thousands of my mom's. I've scanned my gf's family photos. My mother posted examples on Facebook and said I'm available and got like 60 likes but no one was interested. I digitized 100 of one of my mom's friend's photos and she said she was interested in doing more but doesn't actually seem interested (reached out several times).

I'm not sure if it's the pandemic that has people cautious about spending money for this type of thing or what. I think part of it is scanning someone's photo collection requires a lot of trust and they have to be absolutely ready and willing to do it because it's a huge pain for them! They have to lug out all of their photos and be willing to let someone see all of their embarrassing photos.

A lot of people want this type of thing done but I'm having a hard time even getting my friends and their parents interested.

I've been working in preservation for a university for three years so I have experience but I'm having a hard time finding clients. Ideally, I would use Facebook ads or Google ads but I'm wanting to do it as cheap as possible.

    Any tips?

I have had an idea for a product, it still does not exists and I think it could have a discrete commercial value. What should I do?

    Posted: 09 Sep 2020 01:21 AM PDT

Hello guys, I need an advice. I have an idea for a peculiar product that still does not exists (I searched on google and nobody has thought about it yet, even if similar things have been produced). The thing is that it requires some particular components (such as weirdly shaped screens) that are very difficult to obtain, and its development would require some specialized workers. In other words, I can not physically produce a prototype alone, even if I have defined the whole project and I have clearly in mind its technical requirements (I am an European engineer in that specific field, so I know what I am doing, but I have no experience about business). I'd like to turn my idea into a business, but I really don't know how to start and how to protect myself and my idea. Should I patent it? I don't want to make it public (with kickstarter projects and similar) because I don't want it to be copied by someone else. Thank you for your help, and have a nice day!

    Digital agency getting bigger clients

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 08:59 PM PDT

    Hello,

I've created a digital agency but mostly i get small clients for quick websites and charge them so little because they're so small businesses.

How can I get bigger clients (e.g. bigger businesses or organisations)?
How can I reach them to recreate/build their websites?

    Thanks,

    Dion

Starting an e-commerce apparel business- more money towards initial inventory or marketing?

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 05:07 PM PDT

In short, my business partner and I are getting ready to launch an apparel company, and we are trying to determine the percentage of initial investment towards marketing vs initial on hand, ready to ship inventory. We are both heavily leaning towards more like 65-70% marketing and the rest towards initial inventory as we can always get more inventory as sales begin to take place. We thought this sub would be a great place to get outside opinions! What do you think we should do?

    Need your opinion

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 01:54 PM PDT

What do you think about a web application where you can validate your idea before investing more time and money into it in a few steps.

    1. Add content (video, image, gif)

    2. Set questions

    3. Publish, share and get the data

Here is a demo. Please check and leave your thoughts there? Thank you. https://demo.versionzero.io/

*HELP!* Problem creating a Business Bank Account as a new 18 year old.

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 08:24 PM PDT

    Hello All

In a bit of a situation here that's been getting me really worked up. I recently just turned 18 a few days ago and filed for my first LLC, obtained EIN, submitted to IRS, etc, etc. I finalized my LLC but here comes the very frustrating part. When I was applied for a Business Bank Account, I input all my information and my SSN (Social Security Number) obviously. I wait a couple of days for it to be approved, but I got denied saying I "Mistyped" my SSN or couldn't be found/identified. I know my SSN is 100% correct and even showed proof of my SSN Card to the Bank but it was still denied. I heard rumors that it could take up a few months for a new 18 year old to their identity (SSN) become fully identifiable, but I can't really afford waiting a few months.

Is there anything I can do in my power to fix this? Any Recommendations? Help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks.

How do you make connections w/ local businesses?

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 07:48 AM PDT

I'm a full time licensed massage therapist running my own one man small office operating inside of a chiropractors office. I get a fair amount of business from the chiropractor I work with and try to refer business to him as well but I'd like to start branching out to other local businesses but primarily other doctor's offices to get my name out there as the guy to refer patients to if they need something basic and massage related like stress relief or headache management or (soon after I get certified) lymphatic drainage post surgery.

It's a bit odd of a time to try walking into other offices now given COVID-19 and how people are basically waiting in the parking lot to be called in one at a time so my in person option may not be doable for quite some time but I do hope once things relax that maybe I can start doing this (I live and operate in New York on Long Island so things are still a bit tense and restricted).

I'm not sure of good ways to reach out now aside from a phone call but I also feel that's fairly impersonal and doesn't allow you to really get to know the people you're trying to set up a referral connection with. I was wondering what other methods might be effective ways to branch out locally in these crazy times (or even when times are not crazy as I'm very new to this).

Also would it be worthwhile to try and incentivize them to try me out? Say something like a complimentary 30min massage or something to that effect so they know first hand what I can do? Or is that just some odd form of bribery?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!!

    Mileage

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 02:02 PM PDT

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but just wanted to make sure answers were unique to my situation -

I am the part-owner of a home health contract company. I am a w-2 employee. I know my 1099 employees can deduct their mileage on their taxes. Am I able to deduct mine on my personal taxes or do I have to do it on the business side of things? I'd prefer not to take money out of the business for the mileage despite it being deductible if I don't have to. Thank you!
