It feels kind of good to have a big red day again

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 06:35 AM PDT

Kind of a relief, you know? When things just keep going up forever you get scared about how bad things are going to be and the more they go up the more you fear to lose. Having a little balance reaffirms my faith in my positions to have consistent gains and not having me sweat about when I should sell.

Today was the Nasdaq's 3rd worst pullback from an ATH

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 06:10 PM PDT

    https://www.barrons.com/articles/the-stock-market-drop-was-ugly-weve-been-here-before-51599168317

People say "dont worry it's no big deal" about the decline today, but one of the only 2 bigger pullbacks from an all time high in Nasdaq history was the .com crash. Investors have been saying the tech sector is massively overvalued for months. We've also seen lots of "it's a new paradigm/this is the future" talk lately. This could just be profit taking before the holiday, but judging by the size of the drop dont be surprised if this bubble bursts.

Here is a Market Recap for today, Sept 3. What a crazy day!

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 01:22 PM PDT

    PsychoMarket Recap - Thursday, Sept 3, 2020

Stocks plunged today after the outstanding August rally, with the market giving back gains after a string of consecutive, record-breaking sessions.

The Dow fell 2.37%, the S&P fell 3.14%, and the NASDAQ fell the hardest, losing 4.88%. While there was no immediate trigger, the session's moves represented a stark reversal from the bullish tone seen at the beginning of this week.

After an incredible rally, shares of big tech sold off, with Amazon ($AMZN) down 4.6%, Apple ($AAPL) down 7.97%, Facebook ($FB) down 3.7%, Alphabet ($GOOG, $GOOGL) down 4.98%, and Microsoft ($MSFT) down 6.19%.

Both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq ended the regular session Wednesday at their highest-ever closing levels. The broad rally lifted stocks and sectors that had been underperforming so far during the pandemic, with the utilities, materials, and real estate sectors leading advances in the S&P 500 on the day. The Dow spiked above 29,000 for the first time since February and came within 500 points of its all-time record level, before sharply reversing these gains on Thursday. The rally was fueled by an accommodative Fed policy, which promised continued support of the economy, decreasing coronavirus cases, and development in vaccines and therapeutics.

    Highlights

    • The CDC has asked states to prepare to distribute a potential coronavirus vaccine as soon as late October, according to a series of planning documents sent to public health officials last week, per multiple media outlets.
    • Piper Sandler raise PT for $CRWD Crowdstrike from $115 to $160
    • The dating application, Bumble has reportedly filed for IPO, with an estimated valuation between$6-8 billion.
    • A new analysis of several studies by the WHO found that steroid drugs significantly helped reduce the death of those severely ill with Covid-19, bolstering earlier, preliminary evidence that also found benefits from these, per Wall Street Journal.
    • Financial stocks outperformed the broader market, only ending modestly red after opening firmly in the green. JP Morgan ($JPM) was down 0.31%, Wells Fargo ($WFC) was 0.2% down, and Bank of America ($BAC) was down 0.7%

What exactly is happening when there is a pullback like this or the one in June?

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 05:04 PM PDT

Are these stock dumps mainly from the big mutual fund managers that just all wanted to take profit on the same day or is it a big coincidence that a large collective all started to sell?

$TPII eCell will be a game changer

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 07:48 PM PDT

    Triad Pro eCell

The Triad Pro eCell is the future of energy storage. It is a revolutionary storage system that replaces toxic batteries and is eco-friendly. The eCell stores electricity quickly and charges in minutes. It requires no maintenance or routine replacement and lasts for decades.

Global demand for renewable battery storage is at an all-time high and emerging rapidly. For many industries, the Triad Pro eCells offer a viable solution for standalone products when partnered with solar acting as the main charge.

Certain industries such as farming, mining, oil production and military currently rely on diesel-generated electricity because they are located in areas where standard grid electricity is unavailable. Triad Pro's eCell is the solution.

Here is one fully developed practical example: https://triadproinc.com/spree/

$TPII is extremely undervalued at $0.02/share and <$1million market cap. 43 million shares outstanding with only 16 million float. Fundamentals are solid and the company is developing several other applications for their eCell that will revolutionize certain large industries.

Is the stock market crashing right now?

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 07:58 AM PDT

When the stock market crashed in March, I just left everything as is and tanked over 30%. In May the recovery was fast but it wasn't in line with COVID cases or with economy so I sold. Of course the market kept climbing. I got into it a couple of weeks back....do you think a crash is happening now? By that I mean a drop of over 10%

I got stuck holding the bag today on Tesla and see nothing promising happening in after hours trading. I have an ugly feeling everyone who bought back at $1,400 may take their profits, and that's a long way down. Is anyone planning on holding out or will the fire sale continue tomorrow?

Is there a Tech bubble forming?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 10:35 PM PDT

Seems like everyone is talking about tech stocks lately and trying to find the next big thing, just seems a bit familiar from the dot-com bubble and bitcoin mania.... Weird hearing people talk about stocks who wouldn't normally have any interest.

What are the odds of nasdaq100 blowing up if it continues at the rate it does... I'm guessing smart money and institutional investors exit when nasdaq100 if hits 19,000 within the next year. Or should we dump more money in now and ride the wave when it does become full blow mania?

Could anyone perhaps explain their experience if they were trading back in dot-com boom days?

The stock market is flashing a warning sign

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 07:28 PM PDT

New York (CNN Business)Signs mounted all summer that the meteoric rise in the stock market was unsustainable.Bullish investors drove Tesla's market value roughly equal to that of JPMorgan Chase (JPM) and Citigroup (C) — combined. Apple's (AAPL) $2 trillion market cap recently surpassed that of the 2,000 companies that make up the small-cap Russell 2000. And the S&P 500's forward market valuation climbed to levels unseen since the dot-com bubble.Euphoria was clearly taking over financial markets. The runaway train on Wall Street was finally derailed Thursday, when the Dow plummeted as much as 1,026 points, or 3.5%. It closed down 808 points, or 2.8%.

The Nasdaq tumbled as much as 5.8% as pandemic winners like Apple, Zoom (ZM) and Peloton (PTON) tanked. Even mighty Amazon (AMZN) dropped 5%, though it remains up an incredible 82% on the year. Now, the question is whether the rally will quickly get back on track or if this is the start of a bigger pullback in the stock market.

Normally, the VIX (VIX) is muted when US stocks are at record highs. But some market analysts grew concerned in recent days because the VIX kept rising — even as the S&P 500 made new highs. In fact, the VIX hit its highest level ever at an all-time high for the S&P 500, according to Bespoke Investment Group and Goldman Sachs. The previous high was set in March 2000 during the dot-com bubble."It is a significant red flag," Daryl Jones, director of research at Hedgeye Risk Management, told CNN Business. "The market is at a very risky point. It heightens the risk of a market crash."

When US stocks rise and the VIX stays low (and often goes lower), that's typically a green light for investors."You want to chase that. But higher stock market on higher volatility is telling you that risk is increasing," Jones said.

Significant Insider Trading Activity (Last 7 Days)

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 10:02 AM PDT

This is a list of the top 20 companies that experienced the largest change in insider shares in the last seven (7) days. The SEC defines an insider as any officer, director or 10% shareholder. It is not illegal for these people to buy or sell their own shares. In fact, since most of them get paid in stock options, it is expected. However, it is illegal for them to trade on inside information that has not been made public. So for example if there are drug trial results that are bad and not public, insiders cannot dump shares. That said, many people have observed that insiders - in general - seem to have a good track record at timing their purchases. All trades that are marked as part of a 10b5 plan are excluded from this report.

Bought 2 calls today in the middle of the drop today, what do you guys think?

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 06:25 PM PDT

Got an AAPL 167.5C for 11/20 at 2.77$

    Got a WMT 190C for 11/20 at 1.98$

I know nobody truly knows but my thinking was even if it drops I've got plenty of time with two great companies. WMT will be releasing plus and iphone hopefully will drop before end of November as two catalysts. Both companies could go up if a second stimulus goes out. Who knows what trump might pull to get the stock market up in time for elections if things do crash a bit.

If I'm out my ~500$ I'm not worried and it seems like there is chance for these stocks to see a jump at some point with so many possible catalysts between now and 11/20.

Curiosity killed the cat... or my wallet

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 10:49 AM PDT

When the stock market crashed a couple months back, I thought to grab some stocks while the price was low. Being the safe player I am, I chose not to because I wasn't sure what was to come given what was going on in the world and my first duty as a husband and father is to take care of my family. So I didn't do anything.

Now, I'm seeing some of the stocks I wanted to buy up 500% and keep thinking if I would've grabbed what I wanted, I would've been up a half million as of today had I gone with my gut instinct. Oh well, opportunity missed this time.

I don't know much about stock markets or trading, buying, selling, trends, etc... I'm basically wanting to see if anyone has 10-15 mins that would be willing to explain what program/app to use to invest, buy, sell, etc... minimum and maximum amounts I'm allowed to buy and sell per day, per month, per year without a license, where to go to find accurate average stock prices so I can reference a good price to buy and good price to sell. Also anyone that knows how much the taxes are or how the taxes work. Any info at all is appreciated.

Thank you for reading and in advance if you respond!

TL/DR: would like someone to explain basics to me about what apps/programs to use to buy and sell, how much I'm allowed to buy and sell without a license, etc...

what should i do on red days when i have no money to invest?

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 04:42 PM PDT

I've read in this sub that red day is usually the day that people start buying companies, but this is not the case for me. I do not have much money to invest in anything. Maybe about $7. Should i just focus n something else and try to get my mind off of it? Or do i use my $7 to find a small company to invest in. If the small company is the answer, which is a good small company that i can buy a lot of shares with please.

    bbgi stock is a scam

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 04:41 PM PDT

BBGI is owned by the beasley family majority control. BBGI sells its towers/land to Beasley's private company. BBGI leases back this towers/land at exorbitant rate. Beasley family milks BBGI and funnels money into their private LLC. Minority shareholders lose money. Can't be fooled because its undervalued. Director fowler funneled money into his private LLC from BBGI and wrote off the BBGI investment because it's worthless. He funneled $1.3 million.

You can't invest in companies if you don't read the 10k annual report. It says if its a scam. Analysts dont cover micro cap companies, there is no information of this scam.

Today Sucks, But I am Proud of Myself

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 10:34 AM PDT

The reason being is my first attempt at the stock market 7ish years ago I pumped $10K (my wife and I did not have to spare) into the market not knowing the first thing about it and quickly watched it turn to dust.

Two weeks ago, feeling more bolstered ... I put $15K into 86 different stocks and ETFs, just basically trying to spread a little here and there into every type of thing.

It felt awesome to be in the green for two weeks and it feels shitty to be in the red today ... but it keeps teetering with looking like I'm actually just back to even which is way better than my mistake 7ish years ago.

Do I wish I started investing today ... OF COURSE I DO. But... what are you gonna do, my plan is to retire in 20+ years so this is just another day in the course of life.

New to the stock market and this subreddit has been super helpful to a lot of learning and experimenting.

I tried Googling but couldn't find a concise answer.

Can anyone confirm in the "post trading hours" for Tesla for example, is there a further decline of 3.89% on top of the 9.02% since market closed yesterday?

    9/3/20 - TESLA (-9.02%) -> Closing 9/3/20 - TESLA (-3.89%) -> Post Trading 9/4/20 - TESLA (?)

And does that mean we can expect Tesla to open on Friday at 3.89% lower than Thursday's closing price?

Might be a silly question but any clarifications are welcome!

    Thanks.
