    Business advise?

What do you do when a buyer doesnt like the handmade item you made? She's asking for a refund but thats super loss for me because it really took me time to create the item, told her that an exchange is fine but with the same item since I dont stock items and all are made to order, but she's not confident to receive the same item.

I pictured the design on my shop, its just angled for a better presentation, so basically there's really no error or damaged at the item, its just that our standard differ.

Im stressing out because I have other orders to pack and Im not confident anymore to ship my items.

Btw, this is a really small business. Since its COVID times, I thought of setting up my small business.

Can I get this money back from a customer?

    Posted: 25 Sep 2020 03:08 PM PDT

So my business had an error in the Point of Sale system. The customer wanted a refund of $85. The transaction said it did not go through, we tried the process several times. The reports for point of sale said everything was fine, there was just on overage on the transaction.

However, our Elavon reporting shows that the transaction went through every time we tried it... so this person had over $1000 credited to their card. We reversed the charge and got back $600. But now it declines for the rest of the amount due back.

How do I fight this and reclaim the money that belongs to the company?

Anyone who knows a brand naming agency?

    Posted: 25 Sep 2020 09:44 AM PDT

I have a business under my own name, that I want to turn into an agency. So I have to rebrand.

I have been brainstorming ideas for weeks, but I can't seem to come up with a good name. I feel that I should leave this to someone who knows what they are doing so I can focus at what I'm good at.

Can anyone recommend a naming agency of some sort? I work with graphic design, and knows front-end development too. More specifically I specialize in photo manipulations which is often used for book and film covers. In such pierces the light and shadows is the most important, I take several images and turns them into one, or take a photo and turn it into something completely different. I offer other design services too though. And also offer basic HTML, CSS, and JS.

Some names that are taken but that I like are:

    Reshape Contrast Visualize

Thanks for reading along. Best regards.

What to do about an employee who doesn't want to return to work

    Posted: 25 Sep 2020 12:16 PM PDT

I co-run a fast growing uk production company. We've got around 12 staff right now with more recruiting ongoing.

All staff returned to work on 14th Sep. One of the employees has a partner at 'high risk' of covid (diabetes). The partner is aged early 30s. He was concerned about travelling to work on public transport so we agreed we'd give him more time and agreed a new date of 1st Nov to come back to the office.

Whilst he can do some of his job at home with little oversight, when he's not in the office it is much more difficult to give him tasks to do on the fly (we all have to respond quickly with customer demand). This has resulted in him only working a few hours a day on a full time salary.

We're still a small company and every member of staff is vitally important but others are already grumbling about his lack of involvement and I'm sensing his manager may want to take action e.g. put him on part time or even let him go.

I'm honestly not sure what to advise either the employee or his direct manager. Neither seem to be able to agree a compromise.

Our office workplace is covid safe with plenty of hand dispensers and 1m distancing. We even offered to pay for driving lessons so he wouldn't need to take public transport. He didn't seem sure about this. I'm sensing a lot of negativity and not a lot of solution finding...

Are we being unreasonable to expect to come to work?
