Reading Stock Reports whenever and wherever I want Posted: 31 Aug 2020 10:56 AM PDT I love to read Annual and Quarterly Reports since they tell you the most of a company and let you build an overall picture of a business. However I could only always read them on Desktop, since they were clearly not optimized for Mobile consumption. Whenever I was waiting somewhere and felt like doing something productive I tried to read reports on my phone but it always felt like still wasting time since the hardest part was to actually read the lines. Therefore I created Stox a free iOS App that fetches SEC Reports and makes them adaptive to Mobile Devices. It's super easy to read reports of all Public US Companies with it. Also I plan to add push notifications on custom stocks whenever they publish a report in a few weeks as well as extracted tables of balance sheets, cashflow and income statements. I am constantly trying to improve the tool so I would appreciate every feedback or feature request I can get. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Aug 2020 11:08 AM PDT Users of a number of popular trading platforms on Monday complained of downed systems, slowness and an inability to trade, coming as two of the two most prominent stocks were trading on a split-adjusted basis for the first time. TD Ameritrade told MarketWatch that the issue has since been resolved but noted that clients had "experienced high levels of slowness on the TD Ameritrade web platforms and the TD Ameritrade mobile app." [link] [comments] |
Here is a Market Recap for today, Monday, Aug 31! Posted: 31 Aug 2020 01:40 PM PDT PsychoMarket Recap - Monday, August 31 Stocks closed out a month of incredible gains today, with major benchmarks experiencing their best August in decades. Investors are bolstered by an accommodative Federal Reserve, which has promised continued support of the economy, decreasing coronavirus infections, and rising hopes that a vaccine may soon be developed. The S&P ended the day 0.24% down and the Dow ended 0.66% down. The NASDAQ outperformed ending the day 0.8% up, bolstered by a renewed tech rally. The high-flying tech shares of Apple ($AAPL) and Tesla ($TSLA) both soared after their stocks split, both setting new record highs. Tech starts are once again rallying, carrying the broader market along with it. Despite the ongoing pandemic, the NASDAQ has been setting new records almost every session, thanks to tech stocks like Amazon ($AMZN), Facebook ($FB), Netflix ($NFLX), and Alphabet ($GOOG, $GOOGL). Additionally, July's high-frequency economic data broadly outperformed Wall Street's estimates, the latest being robust personal income and spending data released on Friday. Taken together, economists now believe that third-quarter growth could be "even boomier" than prior estimates, JPMorgan Chase said on Friday. However, with unemployment levels still elevated, investors will be keeping a close on labor data in order to gauge the health of the market. Highlights

Find Unusual Options Activity with BigOptionButton.com! Posted: 31 Aug 2020 08:55 AM PDT I've been interested in unusual options the past couple of weeks. So this weekend I decided to use my software engineering background to make The Big Option Button™️ (bigoptionbutton.com). The instructions are simple:
This button searches Barchart's Unusual Option data for the current/most recent trading session to find an unusual option that meets your criteria. The resulting option is "unusual" because it has been trading at a higher volume relative to the contract's open interest. This gives possible insight into what "smart money" is doing with large volume orders, signaling new positions, and potentially a big move in the underlying Stock or ETF. So, this app, in essence, helps you find a play that fits your needs that isn't a complete shot in the dark. The option has at least some merit to it. I plan on building this out to have more features, tools, and educational material regarding options. So, if you have any suggestions or ideas, drop them in the comments or in the suggestion box on the site! [link] [comments] |
How do actively managed funds still exist? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 10:34 AM PDT So I am trying to understand the market better and I am currently reading Vanguards Principle for investing success. It seems when looking at the data, actively managed funds do poorly over time compared to index funds and etfs. Given the data is unfavorable towards actively managed funds, how are they still existing? [link] [comments] |
Beginner Question : The numbers... what do they mean? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 03:42 PM PDT So I'm learning about the stock market and all that stuff. i've seen how much is a stock like for example, a tesla share is now 498$. When its displayed on google or a trading app it shows the name of the company, the price of the share, a number like ex: 55.54 and a percentage like ex: 12.57%. What does those numbers followed by that percentage mean? I feel like it is an important thing that I'm missing out man. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Aug 2020 05:04 PM PDT Hello just recently made a Robinhood account some months ago and am trying to get better at trading. How do you guys become the FIRST to hear about big news. For instance Gamestop shot up a lot today because the guy that created Chewy took a 5. Something% stake in the company. How can I get an alert like that to immediately pop up on my phone as a notification so I can invest asap. Im a real newbie so bear with me. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Aug 2020 11:02 AM PDT What are some of the best stocks or ETFs for consumer staples? I learned about the Warren indicator and want to diversify my portfolio a bit for the upcoming year. Any information would be helpful, thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Nasdaq crash any time in 2020 / 2021? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 11:27 AM PDT |
Which stocks are still under valued? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 11:29 AM PDT If you consider 1/3 of stocks are over valued, trading way above their earning rate, mostly the tech bubble. This leaves a 1/3 at average and 1/3 undervalued, these stock i believe will rise up as the economy recovers. I think these are the best bets for the future. While tech is likely to see a correction. The best plays are undervalued. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Aug 2020 02:58 PM PDT What's your take on VIPS. Chinese discount, flash sale of goods company. Stock has been sinking & looks to ha e slow growth. Bought a few shares today, thinking there could be better options to put the money instead... what's your take on this one? [link] [comments] |
Watchlist: 8/31 Buffett is 90, Stocks Splitting, Futures Flat Posted: 31 Aug 2020 06:00 AM PDT Market Notes: Not a lot of market news this Monday the last day of August. Most major assumptions have not changed. Markets are bullish, the fed is trying to raise inflation, Biden still leads in the polls. October is historically a time for market shifts. Don't expect to see anything big changes before then without a catalyst. Warren Buffett turned 90 over the weekend. AAPL and TSLA are trading at the post-split prices this morning. Futures are basically flat. Watchlist: VVPR is a low float, watching for a setup above VWAP XONE is a low float, resistance at $12 RNET is a low float, support at $4.70 REKR is a low float, resistance at $7 GOGO has resistance at $6 FBIO has resistance at $4 CPBP key level at $9.20 PRTY key level is $3 RFP has support at $5 IGT has support at $11.80 NXE has resistance at $2 TRQ has support at $1 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Aug 2020 04:22 PM PDT I'm aware you can get a day trading pattern if you buy and sell the same stock/option more then once in the same day BUT can you still receive a Day trading Pattern warning for tranding more then 1 different stock/Options in the same day? [link] [comments] |
I got warned about being a patterned trader? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 01:11 PM PDT Can someone explain to me exactly how the whole patterned day Trader works? It's Monday and it says I already made 2 out of 5 day-trades of the week, I don't want to commit a mistake and get a penalty of 90 days/ putting 25K in my account, so what should I avoid doing to not become a patterned trader? And since I've made 2 out of 5 trades already does that mean I'm only able to trade 1 time each day for the next 3 days (available) in this week? [link] [comments] |
18 and looking to invest in stocks Posted: 31 Aug 2020 09:17 AM PDT I have $3,000 that I set aside and I'm looking to make some investments. I don't know much about stocks but I'm looking to invest in short-term stocks. I know the stock market is incredibly high right now and was wondering if you guys think it would be a good idea to invest or not right now? If so do you guys have any suggestions on stocks that would be smart to invest in right now? [link] [comments] |
Help me out fellas, need some good advice Posted: 31 Aug 2020 12:17 PM PDT I have 387$ extra and I'm wanting to mess around with options, thing is I don't really know jack about them, but have been trying to figure them out a bit, why not finally do my first option? I'm pretty balls deep in RKT average 26~$. I'm really confident in RKT and it's price shooting up in the next few weeks. Tell me what to do, my money lies in your hands [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Aug 2020 11:27 AM PDT Let's take Apple as an example, assuming FED prints out 472 trillion billion dollar bills, would Apple stock keep it's value at least to some degree, by changing to Euro or whatever other currency? [link] [comments] |
Where to get fund for stock trading Posted: 31 Aug 2020 01:25 PM PDT I have been trading successfully for a while now like stocks such as spy, qqq, and similar once. Right now most of my cash is tied up on currently winning stocks such as apple in swing trading strategy. As a result, I am not being able to trade other stocks as before coz I have low buying power even after using a margin account. Is there any way I can get more funds for stock trading possibly with low interest under 4% annually. I live in Canada if that helps. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Aug 2020 09:36 AM PDT Looks like ORCL may be the winner when the buyer for Tik Tok is announced. Their founder has never missed when he really wanted something ! WMT seems to be more conservative and the Triller/Centricus bid may be too little/too late. I am not sure whether MSFT really has its heart in this chase as they are doing so well in their core business in COVID times and may not need the distraction. [link] [comments] |
Abbott Labs rapid test a key to reopening economies and borders? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 08:36 AM PDT While we wait for a vaccine, technologies like this can bridge the gap to get people moving again. Does this alone warrant a look at airline and cruise line stocks? Or even banks? I've got buys on Simon property because I think it's one of the biggest beneficiaries of something like this and Citi because I believe in it as a quality bank. [link] [comments] |
