Just hit a milestone I never thought I’d achieve! Posted: 31 Jul 2020 08:33 PM PDT I'm riding on a high right now seeing as I hit $250,000 in sales this month when our quota is $100,000. Last year I was struggling hard to even attain the $100,000 mark, and seeing others achieve this milestone made me even more motivated. Now it's on to the $500,000 and $1,000,000 mark! Here's to hoping everyone had a great July and let's keep it going into August! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Aug 2020 08:29 AM PDT I am an ADM and currently lead the sales org with most $ sourced year to date. I just had the hardest month ever, and missed my number. Getting to AE is my goal, but there aren't a lot of open positions available. Hoping to get any motivation or tips on how you stay driven and fight back during tough months/quarters. I'm in SMB software sales if that matters. [link] [comments] |
When is the wall in the sales? Posted: 01 Aug 2020 09:04 AM PDT I landed a new job and I'm wondering how much sales is just experience and how much it's something you are born with. I have few people in my company and I have an access to their sales records. And here are my observations: Few of them are really good, even tho they had not much experience before. But few of them have like 3-5 years of experience and their results are just shit. Like some people are making 400% more than others even with a lot of less experience. So I'm wondering, how much is experience and how much it's something you born with (like tone of your voice, the way you speak, your appearance, etc) What are your observations? It's redpill so [link] [comments] |

Question from the perspective of an entrepeneur Posted: 01 Aug 2020 06:23 AM PDT Hi everyone. I run a software company doing early 8-figures. Bootstrapped, took about 6 years to get here, and sales were driven mainly by me and an early hire. We're ramping up our sales team, and we're beginning the recruiting process. I have a set of questions for you guys, as sales professionals and sales leaders, that I'd love your feedback on. Part of the challenge is professionalizing the organization away from key people and making our sales process more systems driven.
Thanks all. [link] [comments] |
Are you bad at selling things, but amazing at selling yourself? Posted: 01 Aug 2020 04:18 AM PDT I started as a base sales exec approx 3 years ago. I disliked it heavily due to lack of training. The people I thought I could rely on (sales manager) for any kind of direction had let me down and even our "sales meetings" killed any motivation as we would talk about sales we had made (in figures) but not about how to sell (strategise). I did ok in that role but generally didn't meet targets. I jumped straight in to Sales Manager at my next workplace. This is honestly due to me slaying my interviews and to be fair, owners of the company not really knowing how to recognise a seasoned sales professional. I constantly was questioning my moral compass and kind of felt like I had pulled the wool over everyone's eyes. I was working directly with the owners and had complete freedom in what I did. Although my title was sales and I made a few. I ended up mostly working ON the business, rather than in it. I interviewed for a sales role at a new company and at the second interview the scope completely changed because the owner believed in my passion/drive/different way of thinking because yet again, I slayed the interview. I'm now in a position where I yet again, I work directly with the owners of the company/have complete freedom in what I do. And yet again, I'm working ON the business, rather than in the business. "Working in the business rather than in the business" What I mean is, I don't have KPI's or targets. I don't report to anyone except the owners and I basically work with them on the business. Changing structure, implementing new processes and am a spring board for the owners to bounce business decisions off. They run everything past me and ask for my thoughts before they pull the trigger on anything. Can you be a salesman, and sell nothing but yourself? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 01 Aug 2020 06:00 AM PDT I'm in the air and water business selling purifiers and conditioners, and I attend appointments. The appointments are gained from promotional flyers for a give away item and cold calls, and two things are going on. The first is that people are scheduling appointments and then want doorstep demos which my products cannot do, at that point it's a cancellation. They also appear to neglect certain key qualifiers our marketing tells them to get out of it, I read the script, heard the script being played out, go to the appointment and get lied to about our marketing team, any advice on this? The second thing is related to trying to get call backs for the appointments. I'm passing out flyers, tell them what's going on with our promotion and to call the number to reserve gift and tell them I stopped by. Now I'm not getting call backs, so I was trying to think of ways to promote excitement and one thing that popped up was attaching a dollar or 5 dollars to the flyer. Now I understand it might be a lost dollar or 5 dollars but I'm for investment. Is this legal? I'm trying to just do a quick introduction within 45 seconds and move to next house, any opinions or strategies that I could work with? I appreciate everyone's time. Thank you. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Jul 2020 07:16 PM PDT So I'm considering leaving a promotion to do a work from home sales position. Let me give you some background: I am 27 years old with a 1.5 year old daughter. I'm currently doing outside sales in healthcare making about 90k per year (business has been slow due to Covid-19). I was approached about doing a position from home with a very low base about 15k less than my current position, but the commission and opportunity is lucrative. Has anyone every left a position with a higher base salary for a position that is more commission based? If so, please give me the good and bad if any. [link] [comments] |
Would you allow me to call you and talk with you about your sales career? Posted: 31 Jul 2020 06:41 PM PDT I'm a young guy. 24 years old and live in the Houston, TX area. I work in door to door sales and I would like to branch out before too long. I dont know really anyone well that has a career in sales or account management. Anyway, I would just like the opportunity to ask you about your experience. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
What are the top 3 characteristics to be a successful SaaS AE? Why? Posted: 31 Jul 2020 05:27 PM PDT |
Posted: 31 Jul 2020 07:13 PM PDT So I got the basics of how the process of selling solar works. I've spent 10+ yrs door to door and now I'm changing products. Company I'm with is new and doesn't have a solid script/pitch for door knockers. If anyone has something they could share or any resources and tips to help take me from level 1 to level 2 in my knowledge and understanding of the sales process I'd be grateful. My satellite pitch has been honed into gold but one size doesn't not fit all. Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |
Best books for SaaS prospecting? (Or prospecting in general) Posted: 31 Jul 2020 04:02 PM PDT Saw a post about SaaS sales. Anyone have any suggestions for SaaS prospecting books? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2020 03:51 PM PDT Hey guys, I'm doing some market research to smooth over concerns of a client of mine. Short of it, I'm trying to see how many VPs of sales I can reach here. Are you one? We know a lot of places are hurting with contact being limited because of the pandemic, so replacing those face-to-face lead gen and sales options with a digital model that is already proven to work seems like a great opportunity for both them and their audience. The one hang up has been finding enough people to talk to to learn what Sales VPs really need right now, and in their own words. So, if you're out there? Could I talk to you? Thanks! B2B Saas Sales Commission Structure? Posted: 31 Jul 2020 01:05 PM PDT Wondering what type of commission structure is normal for a product that costs around $2000 one time set up fee with a $200 monthly fee. Currently being offered for commission on the set up but none of the monthly fee, 45% commision for up to 50k in sales per year, down to 35% for 50 - 100k, and above 100k sales per year would be 25% commission with a 50k base. Does this sound reasonable, high, low? [link] [comments] |
